This is the Ducati I would buy. Very reliable engine. Basic. I hate the dash, though. It looks like its had a loft conversion. This video is much quieter than usual.

Reliable my ass. On mine, the plastic (yes, plastic) internal oil pump gearing broke into three pieces at just 6700 miles and damaged the cylinder head and piston. Plastic parts inside the engine? WTF, Ducati??

Hi, Dan. I have just watched this again. I feel just the same as two years ago. I have a Ducati race mechanic as my KTM 390 Duke mechanic in Chiang Rai. He is superb and, wait for this, his labour charge is 2.30 GBP / hour. It makes this bike seem almost like good sense. Definitely my favourite scrambler. Nick J

The standard pirellis look the same as those on my full throttle. They look nice but I swapped them out for Dunlops with more road bias and feel a lot safer on corrners now. The only main problem i now have is the heat that comes out of engine especially in slow traffic in summer

Hey Dan I am not a big Ducati fan but appreciate the design and stuff but I do like this one it looks nice to me the only thing I would change is that awful number plate mounting .Maybe a screen for when distance traveling so it´s thumbs up from me but the price phew ! a lot of pennies for a big toy . : ) cheers

Most street riding seems to be ideally done in JOURNEY mode, unless you're on wet/snow/ice. I didn't see any riding that warranted ACTIVE. I haven't really pushed to a level that I can say what the difference is, but I think I got some "help" the other day when a SUV cut me off in the parking lot and I panic-braked in JOURNEY mode. ;-)

Shame as I fancy the new Tracer 9 but I just can't trust them.

I’m sorry but I have to disagree, I bought a 2018 1100 sport pro as my first bike and am very happy. If you got the coin and ride safely it’s as good as any bike. Let me elaborate on this, it’s a little pricey to buy and get insured, and it’s worth to say that it has waaay more power that what people label “first bike” but if you ride respectful of its capability you’re not gonna need to sell after a while to buy something else, with time you’ll develop more skills and still have an awesome bike that can keep up with you.

The model before was possibly the most fun I’ve ever had on a bike! That was on the Stelvio mind! But i was just as pleasantly surprised by the vibes and handling as you were. Plus the power was MORE than enough to have a LOT of fun in the very twisty stuff! The clutch was a bit dodgy though. Seems they may have sorted that a little. It’s just a real shame about that hideous dash that looks like it belongs on a Chinese electric scooter. On such a cool looking bike as this, it’s crying out for a real clock! Still something I’d consider if i wanted something purely for fun! Nicely done!
