Finally TESLA again! First real-life Autobahn acceleration & Launch Control of the all-new 2021 Tesla Model 3 Performance delivering something in the direction of 500 hp and more than 650 Nm of torque. (total weight: 1844 kg) So glad that I had the opportunity to test this car and besides the revised power output I was really amazed by the ride comfort and built quality! @Bernie Ostendorf definetly not. My guess is that you have never been in one and you just hate on it because it is different. Interior definetly does not feel cheap. I sell cars for a living, primarily Mercedes

@Bernie Ostendorf @Aikaramba , I just drove one yesterday. Interiour build quality is definitely good. No bad gaps, no sqeak and rattle. But driving a 2019 Mercedes S205 myself I have to say the used materials feel and look overall cheaper. Anyway that wouldnt by a dealbreaker for me. I´m impressed, everyone should take Tesla seriously, the german car manufacturers were too arrogant for too long.

I have the performance model 3, 2019 model and ladt year I took it for a roadtrip from Norway to Paris and back. My wife, my dog and me… There was a lot of porsche, Audi’s, bmw’s who was pretty suprised when I raced them at the autobahn😄 Really good car, and the charging possibilities are so damn good!! Yeah the paint is bla bla bla, and there are some fault here and there, as with all other cars!! My Audi Q5 3.0 tei was the worst car i’ve owned! I love the minimalistic driving experience with the model 3 performance, it’s simply a REALLY good car, even for long road trips!

I got a M3P in Cairns Australia weeks ago, strange that i took it out of chill mode for 1st time yesterday. Amazing. But in my local 50 km/h zones, it still lives in ‘chill’ … “how we roll in tropical Cairns” 😂😂

raced one in the spring with my SL63, it was just so quick at low speeds, instant take off... but on the highway it was no competition. .. Looked at one recently, but i dont fit in the model 3 well, the Model S I fit right into it like a glove.. I might get one.

@@Saif0412 You'd be pleasantly surprised how well the M3P handles. My M3P is no BMW M3 but it comes pretty damn close. Once I get my coil-overs and arms in, it should feel even better!

The rule is simple: The more juice you have left in the battery, the more performance you will get out of it. So 100-200 would be better when the battery is fully charged.

Ok so track mode cools the battery better, literally does what it says. For straight one performance you want the batteries to be warm and so trackmode actually slows you down because colder battery means slightly worse energy output. However track mode is good for endurance, if you’ll be sitting at 250kph for a while, as it puts the cooling system in overdrive!

@@phil86790 in Amiland nennt man Teslas 'one trick ponies', da die Besitzer immer Ampelrennen fahren wollen. Auf dem Highway zieht den Teslas ein vergleichbarer moderner Verbrenner immer davon. Immerhin können die Teslafahrer dann den schönen Sound geniessen.

For best results, you want to warp up the battery to get peak performance and not activate Track Mode, as this will cool the battery for longer track racing. A simple way to warm up the battery is to select a Supercharger in the GPS. The car will start to warm up the battery for faster charging. After about 15 minutes, the battery will be at peak temperature and HP output.

@@Automann-TV Why pit it against a Taycan costing about 3 times more, besides this is a 4 door family sedan. To be fair the Porsche should be pitted against the model S if it wants to get the paint scorched off, and even then the model S is by far more technologically advanced than any Porsche. We are in a new territory, Tesla Territory and its overall superiority should be accepted , until Porsche can do better.

Das finde ich jetzt krass. Entweder ist das 2021er Modell langsamer geworden oder mein normaler Dualmotor ist besonders quick. Ich hab 0-200 auch genau 15 sek aber 0-100 ca 4.4-4.5. hattest du den Akku nicht warmgefahren?🤔 ich hätte jetzt so 12-13 sek erwartet. Trotzdem vielen Dank für ein sehr cooles Video. Krass ab was für Autos du immer kommst😬

Er sagt ja auch im Video - leicht feuchter Untergrund. Dazu noch die schrottigen Pirelli Sottozero Winterreifen... Sieht man ja schon bei den neueren Testvideos, wo die Michelin PS4S des Pre-Refresh mit den Pirelli PZERO des Refresh verglichen wurden. Pirelli will man einfach nicht drauf haben, weshalb ich lieber meinen Pre M3P behalten habe. ;) Mich würden aber auch die Geräusche der Wärmepumpe auf Dauer stören. Heute im letzten Wochenende abgeholten M3SP meiner Frau mitgefahren und immer wieder über die komischen Geräusche gewundert...

100-200 geben sich die Modelle LR und M3P fast nichts. Hab einen LR mit Boostund meine beste 100-200 Zeit mit Dragy gemessen waren 9.2s

woher hast du diese handschuhe? Ich wohne in den tropen und im winter werden mir die haende im tesla immer so kalt - die klimaanlage muss laufen und dadurch wirds nen bisschen zu kalt im tesla - aber es ist aussen zu warm um die klimaanlage laufen zu lassen...will mir deshalb fuer lange fahrten mal paar handschuhe zulegen.

you said that traction control in track mode cannot be disabled or configured !!! this is not true in track mode is customizable ESP AND POWER ON MOTOR of front of rear !!! 50/50 and the power can be changed to any engine you want. it is possible to change the torque from the front axle to the rear or vice versa

The bias and traction effects don't do anything in a straight line, I can turn EVERYTHING off in my car and it does nothing for a straight line, but you can turn the car sideways with just a little steering input if it's set up wrong

Track mode is not optimal for drag racing, it's actually quicker just without it, instead this mode better for track, helping you during turning, with extremely high regenerative braking & overcloked cooling.

To get the best results you should do measurements like this with a battery close to 100%, 78% as done here gives significant lower results. Nice video

You need to redo this with the battery level being at 95%+ for optimal times. 90% is fine too. Even 85%, but below 80% as you did, you're definitely getting some slower times than it can do.

But in the real word you are not always on above 85%... This just shows how flawed performance EVs are.... They lose so much power once the batteries are not full anymore. How will they ever beat a GT2 rs around the nürburgring for example with this type of issue???

@@nik7bkh965 It isn't true anymore ... and soon, that'll apply to all Teslas. For example the new Model S, even the non-Plaid one...new chemistry, new heat mgmt system, the car loses very little power even at 30% ...

Track mode in the model 3 cools the battery. There is no battery heating involved with the model 3.

It would be very interresting to se acceleration 100-200 at lower SOC. With 30% battery left for example. Im considering a Tesla Model 3 Performance but Im worried that the power drop at lower battery levels are quite substantial.

watch the latest video from tesla björn. He compares the old model 3 performance vs the new refresh model 3. New one drops significantly, while the old one maintains a good sub 4 seconds 0-100 time, even at 30% SOC

Dachte mein M2C ist lahm im Serientrimm von 100-200. Aber den Tesla 3P knacke ich mit Serie noch und komme trotz kleinen Tank weiter. Aber bitte weiter auch E Autos testen. In naher Zukunft kommen noch interessante Porsche in 100% E raus, die bestimmt Spass machen werden! Cayman z.B.

Interessanterweise habe ich einen Model 3 LR gegen einen M2C verglichen. Wenn man nicht früher auf dem Gaspedal steht und schon runtergeschaltet hat zieht der Tesla weg. Das direkte Ansprechverhalten bei BEVs ist schon enorm vorteilhaft im Alltag.

That's a draggy. It measures performance metrics. It's not Tesla's thing, it's a seperate device people install in their own cars to see performance metrics

the Xpeng P7 performance has bigger brakes and is 25k cheaper and 100 to 200 is about the same, 2022 Xpeng gets the 500hp upgrade

Any EV nerd / expert here , just wanted to ask something ! Is it possible to have modes by which we can set the torque and power band of an EV ? Because generally most electric cars are unable accelerate quickly after 90-100mph , although they might accelerate from 0-60 only under 2.3 seconds ! Because the Electric hyper car named lotus Evija has a 0-60 figure of 3 seconds despite having an outstanding 9 second mark from 0-186,which no other road car has ever created !

Limiting factor is the 1-gear of most EV. Right now only the Taycan and Audi GT have a second gear on the rear motor. Even Rimac killed of that second gear of the Concept 2 in their now called Rimac Nevera, because it's a thing that can break. Even the new Model S Plaid goes from 0-322 kph in one gear, resulting in rpm above 20.000 of the motor...

A Tesla Model 3 with a 7 speed gearbox would crush the living hell out of every ICE with the same power. But nobody needs this as the acceleration is enough for most people on the earth except for the german autobahn maybe, and even here not everybody wants to do 150mph+

He’s making the same mistake as Mat from CarWow does all the time. Trackmode gives you slight less power since it’s used to cool the batteries down, but it gives you a static power output regardless what speed you have. To really use the performance of the car, pre-heat the batteries buy navigate to a supercharger station and leave it on when you do the performance measurements. It is possible to get in the high 9s or low 10s buy doing so, otherwise it will constantly do high 10s. 0-100 is, with pre-heat, possible to hit 3.4s and without its 3.6. I use draggy to measure.

Tesla are claiming 3.3 sec 0-100kmh on their website. I've seen even faster examples on other videos. Curious to know why this one could only manage 3.6. Odd

Tire Size, damp track, outside temperature...and mainly battery level. There are many factors. And honestly I haven’t seen a time faster than 3.3 to 100 km/h yet for this car🧐

they always claim a lower time, for marketing, like Xpeng is designed to start accelerating from 30mph, and remember tesla is a USA product, they don´t worry past 80mph, because you will be arrested if you do that (actually I think everywhere in the world now, apart from this road in Germany)

nope, Golf R is around 14.3 secs, what is comparable to this is the newest Porsche 911 GT3, around 11.x seconds

@@gunterification How quick is both the 7.5 and 8 r's over the 1/4 mile out of interest,...fair bit slower than this. Plus instant torque and power with a 0-60 of around 3 seconds whilst costing next to nothing to run, don't think either of the golfs could come close to be fair.

Bei exakt 100km/h würde fast jeder Verbrenner richtig Zeit verlieren wegen Schaltvorgängen und Turboloch. Der Elektro ist im echten Leben beim Kickdown bedeutend schneller!

Mann muss die 100 km/h bei voller Leistung passieren...sonst holt man ja nicht das beste ausm Auto raus und die Zeiten wären nicht vergleichbar. Somit egalisiert man die Unterschiede, E-, Turbo, Sauger, etc.

Würde man bei einem Verbrenner genau bei 100 aufs Pedal steigen, würde erst mal wertvolle Zeit vergehen, bis er runtergeschaltet und/oder Ladedruck aufgebaut hat. :P Deshalb sind rollende Starts immer so spaßig in Videos anzuschauen. Der Verbrenner braucht seine Gedenksekunde, während das BEV schon einen Satz nach vorne gemacht hat. ;) Deshalb macht BEV Fahren ja auch so viel Spaß - zumindest im Bereich bis ca. 130/150 hat man immer sofort genug Leistung anliegen.

It is heavily dependent on the tires and temp outside. Stickier tires added to the warmth that EVs love would've made a big difference. I've done sub 3's in mine in ideal conditions
