After missing last year it's time once again to summarize the year, plus last year! Let's also answer a few questions from you as well!

Definitely monetise the channel, if you don’t there’s still ads and the experience is the same but you aren’t collecting the revenue. Don’t short change yourself, take control by enabling monetisation and setting the experience you want without YT doing it anyway and taking the cash for themselves. You deserve it and keep up the great work!

9:09 I think I'm not alone in saying the minimal style of editing suits your content very well. So much of KZfaq nowadays, even the technology stuff, is so glittery and over-edited that any creator that keeps their cuts and special effects to a minimum and presents high quality information at a gentle pace (without distracting stock background music throughout) is an instant sub. I also love the multi-camera setup you have; it reminds me of the Computer Chronicles and certain other PBS shows.

My core inspiration was the Acme School of Stuff. I think I've mentioned that series before but it was a show from the late 80's that was occasionally aired in the 90's in Ontario. You can find most of the series on youtube.

Wishing you all the best in 2024, CelGen. Remember, life happens and we understand. Sometimes you just can't make it this year to some event. And sometimes it comes down to money; don't I know that too well! At any rate, let's make this a successful and fun 2024, much better than the previous years.

As far as I know- if you don't monetize your videos, youtube will not promote/suggest them very much- which is pretty bad..

Yeah, it just hurts the channel not making money. Another idea might be to use the revenue that is generated from the videos for the first year and put that into advertising it / promoting videos. A lot of channels have done that and it forces the platforms to put your stuff in front of more eyes. It's a terrible pay-to-play kind of deal, but it's the way things are.

the big problem that annoyed people about shorts was how youtube handled them they have partially fixed that problem now.

This is a pretty cool channel :) Just found it. A video from a few years ago seeming was shot on an old camera, perhaps in the 90's. Awesome.

I would gladly like to help you with money for your trips by you selling me your Pioneer LC-V300 Autochangers LOL. I recently managed to get a whole 2nd system so now have a spare amp and controller. All I need now is 2 more autochangers. Please share the place and times of the show you will be going to in Chicago as I may just try and be there to meet you and see your awesome AMC. I am just over 4 hours from there. Wish you the best in the new year and your content is worth having ads added to them. With that your videos may get out to more peeps and who knows you may grow a lot next year.

If KZfaq lets you monetize your channel you totally should. Your videos already don't have content that would kick you off of the platform. Hopefully you can collect some of those sweet add pennies!

I was shocked to hear my handle! Don't do 60p if it causes you issues -- you have lots on your plate and your information quality/delivery is superb, so video quality is secondary right now. You're doing great, keep doing what you enjoy!

There was so many people who made this year possible and so many faces I finally got to meet in person. You absolutely left a good impression on me all those years ago with the 8088_Corruption demo. It was fantastic to finally meet you.
