Setting a few snares, catching squirrels and rabbit. Very interesting tracks in the snow, was it a snow bath? was it under attack? I hope you follow along as I explore the woods behind home. Once the snow falls, nature has no secrets. Hiking and much needed exercise in the pursuit of Snowshoe Hares to feed my family.

Looks like a small animal. A larger one would leave more recognizable sign.

Only as long as there's game to hunt, the world has 4X - 8X the population now then it did when we lived off the land in generations gone by.

The tenacity & determination of a weasel is something to be admired. Good sign of rabbits there. I caught 2 yesterday & will pull them today. It is just an excuse to burn off some carbs. Catch you on the next one my friend.

I hear you, same for me, just like to get out and place a few snares, then tend them for a couple of days, then pull them and move locations.

Id say attack. Looking forward to snow and seeing some tundra time. Im from the SE of BC in the mountains and the snow situated is so grim I cant use my new 2024 tundra. Love your videos, dont worry about offending, give it no place, be you!

Merry Christmas Charlie , you're right it's hard to open you mouth these days without offending someone. There's some rabbit sign there , for sure. I like the weasel theory , I was originally thinking owl or hawk too when you posed the question but like you said there were no visible wing tracks.. No change the rabbit was going for a fun roll to scratch a itch the way my dog does I don't suppose LOL. Cleaned up on the squirrels LOL Congrats on the Rabbit . Happy New Year

Happy New Year. My two theory's are weasel attack and second is a snow bath. If it's an attack the attacker was small enough for the rabbit to run with, eliminating marten as it's the Martens who carry the rabbits. Weasel fits the bill perfectly.

Perfect video to accompany my morning coffee 😊 Charlie does anyone hunt or trap beaver in NL? I recently got my first beaver here in Alaska (4 in two days, two of them over 50 pounds!) and it has revolutionized my pursuit of wild game to fill the freezer. They have a deep purple meat that tastes like the finest organic beef you could ever find. I highly recommend beaver trapping or hunting to any outdoorsman who hasn't tried it. Cheers from Alaska. PS looks like a weasel for sure, ferocious little buggers they are!

I haven't eaten beaver in years, dad always cooked at least one each fall. They would dam our road and dad would harvest them

Yes, when I first started trapping them I would tease them with one hand and try grabbing them on the sly with the other, sometimes I was quicker but sometimes they were...
