What if there was a healing modality that viewed your body as the perfect healing system that it is?
In this episode of Why Isn’t Everyone Doing This? Emily is joined by Amish Shah where they explore Ayurveda, an ancient practice used to bring your body into balance.
Amish found his way to Ayurveda when it felt like there was nowhere else to turn. He was in his twenties making tens of millions of dollars as a stockbroker... and simultaneously suffering from a host of health issues - vitiligo, constant migraines, extreme stomach pain, depression.
When he was 29 he went to the doctor to get a blood panel done and it came back that he had high cholesterol, fatty liver, was pre-diabetic and was near adrenal failure. At one point he said he was living in a 6,000 sq ft home with a pool on the roof, a theater room, and an elevator. He owned a Ferrari, a Maserati and an Audi. And yet he was in massive pain, battling severe depression and suicide.
That all changed when he found his way to meditation, yoga, and eventually, Ayurveda. Now he has launched The Natural Law: A film and global movement committed to bringing Ayurvedic natural healing back to modern life.
By the end you’ll be asking yourself, Why Isn’t Everyone Practicing Ayurveda?

This episode was super inspiring! What a journey Amish has traveled and I am thrilled he took the time and energy to document his healing experiences. I became familiar with Ayurveda many years back. I even bought one of Deepak Chopra's books on it. After listening to this episode, I'm excited to delve back in and get to the root of some of my lingering ailments. Thanks for spreading the love and light! So much gratitude!

It’s so hard, especially going into summer in Southwest Florida, to cut out cold water! 😩 I love room temp but there’s something about the sharp pointy-ness of cold water that is satisfying, as warm water is round and not as pleasing lol. I know that sounds weird but it is what it is lol. Having said that I’m going to avoid cold water and I shut off the cold switch on my water machine right at the end of the episode as you said drink hot water 😅 I’m making a cup of tea and my water bottle has tepid water in it now. I guess I can enjoy sharp cold water 20% of the time? 😅 Loved this episode, as I do with all that I’ve seen of yours so far! 💖❤️‍🔥💖

It can definitely be challenge in the summer, especially in hot places! The best way to implement new habits is to start small - just having warm water a few times a day - and gradually increase as you get used to it! Also, it's important to remember that you are only human and sometimes you will do something because it feels good, not because it's what's best for you. It's all part of the experience of being human!

@@zivameditation I’ve been doing good with the tepid water and have been making cold smoothies as it gets hotter 😅
