Owned 1st and 2nd Gen Tundras. I liked Toyota up to about 4-5 years ago. No more. For the price of the Tacomas, I'd buy a RAM truck with V8 instead. Drove a company's RAM 4WD crew cab for 8 years with barely any issues. Great truck.

How do they justify charging that much when the plant is located in Mexico, only paying pennies on the dollar to the local work force. I test drove a new Taco the 4 banger tries to act like a V6. But I'll stick to my 22 Frontier I just like the feel and the drive of it.

I went in today to test drive the Tacoma SR5 and all I have to say is this thing is cheap. Do not let the videos on the internet fool you. Go in and sit in one yourself. Plus the pricing was outrageous. I told the salesperson that the quality was not at all what I was expecting and he said everyone that comes in says the same thing and that it is hard to get people to buy them. Toyota is pricing their customers out and build quality is not the same as what it used to be. Good luck to everyone out there.

When an SR5 4 cylinder is $20,000 “I’ll be back” and I don’t think that is unreasonable because once they add the dealer fee which one Toyota dealership had at $3,000, tax, tag and whatever else they add you drive off the lot with a $30,000 Taco that I don’t believe will last 500,000 miles 😂. It’s crazy how much wheels affect the look. I can roll with the trd sport and trd off road wheels, but those SR5 wheels are hideous. That would be the first thing to change for me.

Pricing is super high, zero trust in these new engines. My 21 Tacoma has 130k miles on it, and I hoped to get a new tundra in a year or two. I’ll find a used 23 taco instead and trust that with 50-60k miles it’ll outlast whatever is coming out new unless they make massive changes. Overpriced trash is what they’re pumping out. I’d buy a ranger raptor over the new tacos, and it disgusts me

Another channel was discussing how they pay the Mexican workers 2.70 an hour when you convert to USD. I doubt they add any benefits. Something really does not add up. This is such a gimmick bordering on full on scamming. GM with their Wentzville plant in Missouri, Ford with Wayne in Detroit, and Nissan with their plant in Canton Miss all pay decent wages to American workers with benefit packages etc.. Yet those trucks are easily 5-10K less then this POS from the south. I'm sorry but this ain't a real Toyota. When I think quality builds from Toyota I'm thinking Land cruiser model 200, GX 460, Prado, or the 4 runner. OF which only the 4 runner is still in production. The only real toyota left. The rest of these cheap pieces of crap based on the TNGA platform are just high profits for Toyota utilizing cheap suppliers, cheap labor and making literally everything an expensive option.
