Aw David, so glad that you are still actively engaged within our community, I was gutted when you sold up, but unlike most you gave it a fresh perspective, you’re chronicles of the many different aspects of canal life are covered on your channel and I absolutely love Heidi’s show every Thursday. Heidi was surprisingly well behaved, and not a drop of rum in sight, or was that just clever editing and David actually ended up walking the plank sozzled on Kraken, we will have to wait for Part 2 :)

Those big single cylinder four stroke dispel engines are the sound of the canals. That noise is a theme tune in itself.

All electric so as newbies and ‘untraditional’ we have a lot to learn but as ageing eco warriors a lot less to worry about without the challenges Heidi has to face. My favourite vlogger with my third favourite (sorry, the Mindful Narrow boat is 2nd!) What a great episode! In a way you're living the "grandparent" canal experience now... dipping your toes in for the joy without the former hassles (if that makes sense!) Edit: rum and cheese sandwiches, a perfect combination!

After you and the Foxes sold their boat I found Heidi on The Narrowboat Pirate. She's done a crack up job of filling in for the pleasures of Narrowboating UK's canals (cuts). Thank you for giving us a detailed look at the inside of The Rum Wench. I've learned much about Heidi from this vlog.

A most enjoyable episode! I think this “not-boating” life really suits your creative journalist side, David! Once again you take us on a magical adventure filled with lovely visuals, a saucy wench (or hero) and a good yarn to tell….what could be better? A SECOND episode you say? Can’t wait says I !!! But yes.. I too was expecting more plank walks…..perhaps once you are underway in the second episode and plundering the unsuspecting villages up ahead! ❤🏴‍☠️
