In this week’s episode, I share my three favorite camera accessories for landscape photography. Now, these are accessories that have enhanced my landscape photography experience whether it is for efficiency or to make braving the elements a bit more bearable. I purchased all these items last year and have thoroughly enjoyed using them on my photography hikes. I am the type of photographer who takes photos all along the way and I strive to find and use camera gear that works for my style of outdoor photography. @@AcaciaFikeNelson Love the blue tone that you had behind you, your office? Very calm and soothing😀. Blue is my favorite color as well. After serving for 30 years in the USAF, I guess you can see why😀. Who knows, maybe that’s why I joined up🤪

@@barrymedlin6587 Thanks Barry. Yes, this is my home office. The lights behind me are Phillips Hue lights, so I can adjust the colors and brightness as I want, but blue looks the best with my gray walls and well, I 💙 the color blue! Very cool about serving in the USAF for 30 years! That's awesome!

Hi Acacia, New subscriber from the here. I am a big Peak Design fan and love the Capture Clip; I have four to date, so one goes on each of my camera bags. It makes life so simple for me, especially when I am in London, or Cambridge, doing street photography. I am hoping to get some more inspiration from you concerning my landscape work.

Great accessories, Acacia. OK, wait. I haven't tried the hat. It is a great idea. I am just, admittedly, too vain to wear it. That aside, I have used the Peak Design Capture Clip since they first launched. It has been many years. I used to put them on my Osprey day pack when going on short hikes. Now each of my Shimoda bags have the Capture Clip mount on the left strap. I even have one on my Think Tank shoulder bag where I insert the Peak Design plate sideways into the Clip. Here are a couple of tips when use these Capture Clips. For security (not the theft kind but the "I'm hiking and just tripped over a tree root and dropped my camera kind". kind) I either have a camera strap around my neck or a hand strap on my wrist which I snap on before removing the camera. Yes, I sometimes cheat and just grab the camera, but .... (All of my straps are Peak Design. I don't love their bags but I do like their straps and love the Capture Clip.). Another tip on the Capture Clip. When I use my 70-200 or larger lenses I put a Peak Design Capture Clip plate on the lens's tripod collar/mount. Then I insert that into the Capture Clip but with the camera and lens "reversed" or upside down what the camera body hanging down. I find this balances better. Of course, I don't do this if it is raining!

One accessory is a lens hand blower for about $30. An accessory that is essential. Very light hearted humorous vlog with umbrella hat. I saw previous vlogs and knew what you were talking about immediately.

Thanks for sharing your camera accessory! A lens hand blower is definitely a great one to have in the bag! I don't know if I could ever keep a straight face with the umbrella hat! 🤪 Maybe if I keep "normalizing" it, I will eventually not laugh at myself whenever I see myself in it! 😂 Have a fantastic day! 📸

question.. do the clips mounted on the camera for the Peak Design strap make clicking noises when walking and the strap is not attached ? are they hard plastic or softish or ?? I often attemp to sneak up on targets and those little man made sounds are a dead giveaway! Thanks for the reviews!

Ooooo.... great question! They are hard plastic, but as far as noise, I haven't paid attention to it....but I will do a bit of testing in a bit to see if I notice any little clicking noises. I will let you know what I discover!! 😀

Hi Dean, So to answer your question. Yes, the clips can make a clicking noise when you walk around without the strap attached. However, I was able to manipulate their placement of the plastic snaps by moving the metal triangle thing on my camera where the strap attaches to the camera (don't know what you want to call it or if that makes any sense) and was able to eliminate any noise. Not a perfect solution, but I was able to shake the camera in my hand and the plastic tabs stayed put.
