I've been wood working for over 45 years. No way in the world am I going to spend that kind of money on something when a fraction of the cost tool will do the same thing. You all have lost your minds.

$74, $152, $92, consecutively for these tools in Australian dollars. Yeah I’ll have to give ‘em a miss.

It's cheaper to use metric than these unnecessarily complicated tools.

Immediately went to buy the Micro Trim Square, but it's £59.99, current exchange rate makes that 70.95USD. Very expensive, not under $30 for me :(

I was just thinking the same thing and was wondering how much they were....but they do look like quality made tools. As they say “buy once, cry once.” Lol

Drill some holes in a trim square. Dunno if that would actually work, but it’s worth a shot

Looks like shipping isn't quite free, it's included in the price and covers low Earth orbit too. I have 3 of their toys and they are as good as they look. Now I'm thinking verbal thank you's wasn't enough.
@fuddrucker74
@fuddrucker74 Жыл бұрын
They use the VAT (value added tax). If they're "including" shipping its built into the price. That's usually only domestic pricing related with international shipping excluded, but these cats are doing it.

A British company using imperial measurements? Nobody I’ve worked with in England uses imperial anymore, my dad even started with imperial at school and learned the metric system as it’s better

I use imperial almost exclusively,but then again most of my work involves restoring woodwork that dates back to when imperial measurements were standard.

Every bit as expensive as Stabila, Starrett, or Woodpecker? They look decent, just expensive, as per the standard for our vanity tools. At least they aren't on Bridge City pricing.

Only if you don't have a clue what you are doing. Go get an apprenticeship with an old guy who's been around. Never in the world would he own this expensive crap.
@ChrisHornberger
@ChrisHornberger Жыл бұрын
@@jonlanier_ Yes and no. A bad tool that isn't correctible, or can't be "tuned up" with minimal to reasonable effort will magnify your results (mistakes) - usually in the worst ways possible - many times over. I'm never the guy to say " you have to spend the most you can on tools ". Ever. I have a fair number of Harbor Freight things that I use every day, for instance... but some things you need to make sure they're spot on, and as one example, if I have to do all the geometry to shave and re-angle a try square or a combination square, for instance, my time is worth way more than those hours - days? - when a known good one from a reputable maker like Sterritt or Veritas is well worth the money (aka, my time). $.02
