I'd still say it's a fun project but that car definitely fell into the wrong hands. I'm taking my 6 speed Acura TL to 300k miles and so far I've put four new tires, rotors-pads-calipers in the rear, new rotors-pads in the front, new lower control arms, lower ball joints, sway bar links all around, converted HID to LED and I highly recommend Auxito LED bulbs for the headlights, four new struts, 6 new ignition coils and spark plugs, timing belt and water pump, valve adjustment, air filter, weighted shift knob, serviced the manual transmission and differential, new clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder, oem PCV valve and 6k oil change intervals. All in 15k miles so far it puts a smile on my face everyday I look forward to driving it even with everything I've done to it. A important sensor that's often overlooked is a ETC sensor I believe it's called. I bought one at the Honda dealer for my Acura and one at the Lexus dealer for my Lexus. Do not go aftermarket with this sensor. Get one from the dealer.. it's not a well known maintenance item but the original one snapped in half when replacing it on the LS400 I have and it increased the miles per gallon

The situation is tough. I could import a JDM GS 460 or even LS 460 (because there are way more of those and they are dort cheap compared to anywhere else in the world). Then I'd get a super nice well kept vehicle but I'd need to drive a RHD car in Europe AND what's really bitter is that I need to fill it up with gasoline for $7.87 per gallon. It used to be $8.09 per gallon but still. For reference: LPG (propane) is "only" $4.82 per gallon and it ALWAYS is significantly cheaper than gasoline. Unless I have a job where I drive very little with my car I'd be saving money on fuel very soon. The engines in every market except for early middle east models had port and direct injection, which means you can't convert it to LPG without a specialized direct injection kit, which aren't made for the UR engines. Importing one from the middle east (I've looked it up and there are some GS 460 available there) would solve the RHD and direct injection problem AND it would make it even more bulletproof, as port injection is the most robust fuel delivery system ever. Fun fact: the middle eastern Lexus models had only port injection because of the high sulfur content in the gasoline there. V8 Enthusiast have it hard in this world. 😔

My 05 acura tl sounds similar to this it just needs suspension all around, control arms, new speaker because their popping, 02 sensor, two door lock aculators, motor mounts, new windshield and lastly transmission fluid change and it’s at 183k. Looks like 80k in person on the outside.

I love the headlights. As you say, the body style is awesome, unfortunate it wasn’t taken care of well. The body will be fixed in time. I hope you can get the brakes, fluids, and essentials taken care of, that is the most important imo. Cheers.

If you don’t mind, could you tell me how much you paid? I paid $3700 for mine with 190k miles, it has codes for oxygen sensors, speed sensors, check engine and VSC light on.

you should have kept your Volvo XC90. I have a black 2007 Volvo XC90 sport raised 2.5 inches. 155k miles. It was in much better condition than this Lexus. This car is kinda ugly. has rust and super high milage. rebuilding this motor will be a fortune. I bought a spare Volvo 4.4 V8 with 80k miles for $1000 for when my V8 goes. keep buying used cars and fixing them super expensive.
