You don’t need that much invested to get 30k. With about a 10ish% return each month MSTY is returning those kinds of returns with around 30-40k

I'd be interested in seeing your portfolio and income performance, I'm a couple years behind you, have probably enough cash to convert to this strat to get these results now, but I'm still working at the moment, so I'm kind of testing things, I'd love to have a solid game plan to say ok, I'm done working, and flip over to this type of income strategy and not worry about paying bills.

If you're reinvesting dividends, it's no longer your money that you're investing. To figure your ROI look at your initial investment that you used, your own personal money to fund. I believe once your initial investment has been repaid your then playing with house money. As near as I can tell it takes around 2 years to reach that point. Good luck!!

I am following similar track. Take it easy and see how they go. Trying to stay with funds who have held value more or less since inception, then be happy with the dividend. Hope to break $10k a month in dividends.

Very good👍👌🙂 I am doing the same. I Wasn't reinvesting my dividends, but this year I have been. I'm getting about 18 to 20k monthly. Using pro shares Bitcoin ETFs BITO, EETH, BETH, BITU. BITX don't pay dividends. Total shares between the dividend paying funds is about 9600 shares. Also I have TSLY 650 shares, and MSTY 760 shares. Plus I do synthetic deep in the calls on proshare Bitcoin BITO 1 dollar strike, As well as at the money calls going out to 2025 & 2026 total contracts 200 plus. I just Subbed. Very impressive 👏

Good for you! US Treasury Bonds and bank CDs won't keep up with inflation which is more like 20%. The government statistic on inflation rate lies.

Just a FYI, the YIELD won't drop as the price drops, but the actual divs will drop. For Example, If you look at TSLY, it has been paying a 50% yield since inception. But the actual dividends paid is decreasing. Since the yield is based on the % of the pay vs the share price, it'll stay the same.

I do not think you should re-invest 100%. These covered calls are taxed as a regular income, unless of course you intend to pay that with income/salary. I would say some more things but i know in a bearish market covered calls are profitable so maybe you'll do well now after all.

Should have clarified, I set aside a portion for taxes. I reinvest the rest, don't need to live off it at this point.

I won't buy real estate if it's already expensive. No way! I won't buy any investment that has already gone up in value to a considerable extent. But I'll buy dirt-cheap commodities in a heartbeat. That does not mean most people should buy commodities. But I do. Where Defiance funds comes in is to give me a nice chunk of re-investable income while I get whipsawed all over the place by my volatile commodity investments. Defiance funds are a great innovation. If you lose your job tomorrow, you can comfortably live off of the dividends for a little while (not a long-term solution, but certainly one for short term!) until a new job can be found.

The math is not hard. If you start by investing X dollars of your own money and you're not buying any more outside of the DRIP, then once your account value hits 2X, you've got 100% ROI.

Already thought about that. Not a good enough calculation for me, too simplistic without dividends reinvested.
