This was a new reading experience for me and I was impressed from what I have read. I am very curious how some of you that read this book feel about it so feel free to let me know. Thanks for the review! I’m about to go pick up my copy I have waiting at the local Amazon locker. My expectations aren’t very high for the storyline, mainly buying this book for the art and to beef up my library in the horror genre.

Really glad you liked the book! Ben's style is really his own, his use of guache paints and water directly on canvas give everything a really surreal look that enhances his wavy and curving linework. If you're looking to check out more of his stuff, Fell is my favorite series he did along with Warren Ellis from Image comics, surreal set of Detective stories involving very strange cases. It's on Hoopla!

The man Bunk! I was already excited to read this but you got me more excited with your comment on my haul that this was featured in. And oh yes I will be checking that out! Ben really MADE this series for me. That’s not saying Niles wasn’t talented but I found myself finding more flaws in the writing than the art. That’s mainly because the art was so beyond fitting to this story, it truly sold the narrative and setting to me!

Idk this was getting a deluxe edition I’ll definitely have to get it I heard it’s better than the movie and fun fact he wanted to make the movie first but he made the comic instead and good review!! I’ll have to pick this up the art looks gorgeous!!

It’s on par with the movie In my opinion but the art is incredible! And YEP! Niles was turned down multiple times when trying to turn 30 days of night into a movie and eventually decided to just do a comic. Great Fact To Add!

I sure do but they don’t often scare me the way I want them to. This one had the type of horror I enjoy but not the type that exactly scares me. Glad you enjoyed the video! Hope you check this one out also!

First off, that's a great Cthulhu Tshirt. Absolutely loved the movie, great atmosphere and the vampires are the monsters they should be. Saw this deluxe edition in my local comic shop, it looks a nice book on the shelf and a great price for what you get, unfortunately the unique art style is not for me and I will be giving this one a miss.

Thank you! I get a lot of compliments on my shirts haha I enjoyed the movie to the same level as its source material which really surprised me because like you, I felt the art style was not traditional enough for my taste. All I can say now is maybe give it a chance online (for free using Hoopla or something) if you can because the art SOLD me while reading and became my favorite part of this book when I thought for sure I’d hate it. But also Not convincing you to read something you don’t like! just sharing that my story with this was pretty similar to yours and I only wanted it due to liking the movie. Yet somehow I came out the other side with the art being the best part for me.

Loved the movie, but chose to skip the book but now I’m not sure if I should of because of how highly you talked about the art. Which I initially didn’t love but now I’m having second thoughts.
