If your looking to put 35 inch tires on your Gladiator Rubicon or Mojave but don't want to hassle with a lift this is a great option.
In this video I will outline what I chose to do for my Mojave.

Unsprung weight issue is huge for performance. These are rated Load Range "C" so they'll have a better ride than the typical 35" which is Load Range E. Great choice!

Thanks for sharing your experience with these tires. I have a 21 JLU Rubicon ecodiesel and trying to choose between the AT3s (same size as you did) or the Toyo RT Trails in 315/70/17 size.

Thank you for posting with a great view of fender area. I have a Rubicon with a 1.5 leveling kit and just ordered some Kenda Klever 35x10.5. When they were delivered I was like Holy Cr$p those look a lot bigger than stock. It's good to know that Mojave or Rubicon can run at stock height. BTW the tires , black wheels and tan looks amazing ......awesome truck

I like the look of the Kendra Klever tires ( really aggressive) .How do they ride on road so far? Thanks.
@Grodd70
@Grodd70 9 ай бұрын
@@phild1995 So far I really like mine. They don't have any more road noise than a standard all terrain tire. No howling like aggressive mut terrains. Handling is good, however you can tell that they are taller and narrower so they feel a little less "planted". I have not noticed a drop in acceleration but I also have a throttle commander installed so even with 35"s it feels quicker than it was all stock. Gas milage I think I lost about 1 MPG. So far as aggressive as they look they seem to be wearing like a regular all terrain.

I just put theses on my 22 Mohavea few days ago, replaced my Falken AT3’s, great around town, but shakes and vibrates on the highway, I am guessing they need to be rebalanced or I need an alignment. How has your highway ride been?
@MojaveTrails
@MojaveTrails 11 ай бұрын
Hello, I would agree that you most likely need to have them balanced. I has mine put in at the place that sold them to me and balancing was part of it. Incidentally every time you rotate them you should have them balanced. That is the main reason I take them to the shop I bought them from because they should include rotating and balancing them. To answer your question my highway ride is great. It’s definitely improved from the stock MTs. It’s possible that you could need a front end alignment depending on how much off-road you do or if you hit something or constantly have to go through pot hole but in your case I would start with having them balanced. Hope that helps and best of luck!!

What PSI are you running? I just ordered these for my Mojave.
@MojaveTrails
@MojaveTrails 2 ай бұрын
I usually run 37 on the freeway. 35 if I want a more comfortable ride around town and I start off road at 26 psi and will go down to 15 if I really feel I need more traction which is rare with these I’ve only had to do it once. Most times 22-26 is just right. Thanks for watching!

Did you not like the falken wildpeaks?
@MojaveTrails
@MojaveTrails Жыл бұрын
Hi Peter I’m did like them especially in the beginning, they got very loud towards the end after about 40k miles. Off road they were supremely good. I never worried about traction with them. I wanted a true 35 which they don’t make. I’m wanted 11.5 inch wide again they don’t make and I didn’t want to add a heavier tire. With those things to consider the Toto AT3 we’re the best of the available options. Time will tell if I made the right choice. Thanks for watching and for the question take care!

Are you still running those 35 inch Toyos. If so, what’s your thoughts on them and can you can trust them versus the wildpeaks (mt or at)?
@MojaveTrails
@MojaveTrails Жыл бұрын
@@malachi2371 yes I am still running them. I recently came back from a 700 mile trip with over 100 of it off road. They were great quiet on road with great handling in the rain and aired down off road they performed really well. I never lost traction even pulling my teardrop up hills and through some wet muddy trails. So far I am very happy with them. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Did your new tires change your gas mileage or your speedometer?
@MojaveTrails
@MojaveTrails Жыл бұрын
Hi Will, So far I am averaging 15.8 around town. I have not taken it on the freeway yet to get a good idea of what the highway mileage will be. The last 10 miles of the Falken MT's I was averaging 13 around town. That is pretty typical of a Mud Terrain tire at the end of its life. One thing to note you will have to adjust the tire size on your computer. It runs fine and has plenty of power if you don't, however it doesn't shift correctly and I could never get it to go below 2500 rpm even cruising so the mpg was going to be higher and the engine is working harder than it needs to. After changing the computer it performs just like the stock tires. Hope this helps!

@@MojaveTrails hello, if I don’t have a tazr how do you change the computer? Can the dealer do this?
@MojaveTrails
@MojaveTrails Жыл бұрын
@@pjrodriguez9755 Hi, Yes the dealer can i've heard the charge around $100 for it but I never got a quote. There are advantages of going that route if all you want to do is change the tire size. For 1 you don't have to un-pair your tazer every time you take it in for service and since the dealership does it, any new software updates to your computer should not overwrite the new settings. Good Luck!

@Mojave Trails so they are the r/t not at3 correct?
@MojaveTrails
@MojaveTrails Жыл бұрын
@@Rottie_713 They are the Open Country AT III. Which is a cross between the two. When I looked into them there is not a big difference in performance between the RT and the AT III when comparing the specs. I saw people reporting that the AT III was quieter on the road which is why I chose them. I have been very happy with them both on and off the road. If you really want top off road performance and don't care about on road mannerisms then MT are the way to go but I find that I drive it way more on road than I do off road and when I am off road these work great in 95% of the scenarios. Full out mud and lots of it is the only place where the lugs might not be able to clear. So far the mud I have been in they have performed well. I usually run into a lot more mud in the fall during hunting season so i'll report back after that if they don't perform as expected.

Any reason you didn’t go with a 35x12.5x17 inch tire??
@MojaveTrails
@MojaveTrails 7 ай бұрын
I prefer a skinny tire over a wider one and I didn’t want to have to spend another 1500 on rims when I already liked the stock ones. Also I saved a bunch of weight. These tires weigh the same as my stock 33s. So performance stayed the same. My mileage is the same as it was with the 33 because I didn’t add any unsprung weight. Thanks for watching

Will 35x12.5 r17 fit the stock wheel?
@MojaveTrails
@MojaveTrails 15 күн бұрын
Hello, Will it fit yes but it is not recommended because it can come off the rim more easily especially if you are at lower tire pressures. It can also cause irregular tire wear. I did this on my first jeep I owned because I wanted bigger tires but couldn't afford new rims and tires. I ran it that way for 3 years without issues. However off road I did not air down as much and it did probably cause me to get stuck a couple times because I was afraid to go down low enough. I don't recommend it for these reasons.
