In the 90's and early 2000's, I used to hang around shops like this where they were doing their own creations as A & B do. I learned so much from them, which allows me to be an open thinker on modifying stuff to make it work. The shops I hung around have since closed as these "wise men" have passed away with their knowledge. Please keep uploading more of these informative videos. Thank you

Some of the coolest old timers around. I genuinely respect people who can make things with their hands. Truly inspiring to us who aren't quite that age, what they can still do is astounding. Respect!

Cams made from lobe sections. Ford did this would some motors starting in the 1990's or so. Each lobe was singular, slipped over a tube , then a ball pulled through to expand the tube locking the lobes in.

I'm intrigued as to how the head will bolt on, I don't see bolt bosses. The top plate might have posts that weld through the deck? So darn cool..
@bcbloc023 ай бұрын
So I see they are somewhat onto my modular cam idea. I have thought perhaps super fast easy solution on the 12 cylinder as I am pretty sure they run seperate individual exhaust and intake cams. As such you could make a 12 spline shaft and have the lobes cut out of flat plate with 12 splines as well then just index each lobe to its proper spline and slide it in place. Have the spline interference fit and use an induction heater for assembly. Fast cheap cams to make or repair! I hope you try it.

I only roughed in the ports. The final ports will be developed by Geoff Mummert from Mummert machine and then machined on his five axis CNC.

0:50 take a moment and realise how thick and strong that man's fingers are. I grew up in an age where Grandpa could lift 55 gallon barrels of gas off and onto a truck by himself, and those barrels were made of steel and were 85lbs, plus the gas. My Dad at age 70 would pick up his snowmobile and throw it into his pickup in front of bar just to show off to the younger 'tough' guys. Nobody messed with Joe, even the 'tough' guys in several towns. Joe was not a fighter, but they knew Joe just pick them up and throw them outa the way. Dad drank a lot and raced snowmobiles and worked hard on those days he wasn't drinking. Dad bought a 3ton truck b4 he bought an auger, that stupid fuck, so he shovelled 300 bushels of wheat and make 3 trips per day.
@bradyelich27454 ай бұрын
I was pissed the day after I graduated grade 12, Joe bought a stone picker and a grain vac. My younger Brothers are pussies, even tho they tower over me. Mom let it known that she used to help my younger Brothers shovel grain, I told her u never had to when I was at the farm.
