Thanks! Hobby trader and thinking of the same setup. Not really to access exactly more tickers but to have an overview of orders, positions etc since I am on CFD's and stocks att the same time and getting info from a few sources at the same time.. 34 inch Ultra Wide is ok but this LG seem interesting! It is more like $ 800-900 in Sweden though

Hi and thanks for the review. How would you say this compares to having four separate screens in terms of internet windows? I read that it supports up to four computers, but can I have four windows with a single computer, and how easy it is to do that and go back and forth between a different number of screens? Also, how does it compare to having four different screens? Thanks!

Yes. I split it into 4 virtual screens using 1 computer. It’s easy to do with the LG software. The main benefit is that it’s less clutter. 1 PC, 1 Monitor, 1 DisplayPort cable. Each 1080p “virtual screen” is about the equivalent of a 21.5” physical monitor. For the same price you can get 4 separate 24” monitors. Depends on what is more important to you.

Have you ever needed to tilt the monitor? The model with the tilting stand (43UN700-B rather than 43UN700T-B) is an extra $80. I use a 24 inch monitor right now and prefer to tilt upward but have no idea whether I would do that for a much larger monitor.

I use it on a standing desk so it’s already positioned the way I want. Do you want to tilt it so you can sit in front of it? I feel like that’ll be bad for your neck in the long run. But I have no actual experience with doing that.

If possible, buy a monitor arm like the Ergotron HX. Vivo V100h will also work with a VESA adapter to mount the screen.

If I remember right. It works out to 4 x 21.5” 1080p screens.

I was looking for a reason to buy for programming perspective, and this was awesome - esp that screen split software - since I can have code on one side, StackOverflow on another, etc. Thanks for sharing this TIGER :)

Dude it was like exactly 35.5” apart between the legs. Not sure if you should risk it because if I’m even a hair off with the tape it won’t fit.

It doesn’t have a coax tuner. But you could connect a set top box over hdmi I suppose.

Please tell if it would've worked fine if you'd got a large screen led or lcd TV ? That only for observing charts, would it have worked the same as this ?

I was actually originally going to get a tv. It would have cost only $250. But I read running a PC on a TV will cause the screen to burn in over time. Also, the text will be less clear and not as sharp as a monitor. I don’t know if any of that is true but I didn’t want to risk “wasting” $250 so I got an actual monitor.

@@frugalTIGER well can't understand why the text would be any different if the resolution is the same ? Secondly would the Charts on TV be accurate to ms as in a monitor ? What do you think ?

I think chart accuracy will be fine. The technical details of the text blur is beyond my understanding. But this is a good write up on it. Hope it helps. www.rtings.com/tv/learn/chroma-subsampling

I used it daily when I was on the east coast. I really liked it. Back on the west coast I’m on 6 1080p monitors. I’m going to consolidate that into one or maybe two of these in the future.

Can you please share the name of the 50 dollar graphic card for display, that you discared ? I am also planning to buy monitors, and thinking Nvidia Quadro T400 as graphic card to display. Just 100 dollars.. Will it work fine ?

It was just the cheapest video card physically sold at best buy. It’s fine for productivity at 1080p and maybe higher. But couldn’t do 4k. I would verify all the specs of the video card to make sure it’ll support 4k 60hz minimum.

@@frugalTIGER It may not be as high-end as you think, but you have twice the memory you need. Also, OC stands for overclocking. It's mostly for gamers who want to extract the most resources out of the card for the frame rate speed, and adjusting obscure settings to do so. Not something I imagine most traders would do! :)

Virtually? Yeah there is about a dozen software options. Physically you would provide need to wall mount it.

I recommend using a standing desk. I try to keep it at eye level and stand far enough to take in the full display at once. If you’re sitting you’ll probably strain your neck looking up. And if you’re too close you’ll probably strain your neck left and right.

It’s about the same as text would look on a 21” 1080p monitor. So how close you are to your desk/monitor matters.

@@mrjtmac1 I play both ways... right now the market is shrugging everything off and continuing to go higher so I have been long biased even if I close out for the day. The tickers change frequently depending on the market action. Right now the action is in these tickers.... nio, spce, plug, ddl, clov, wish, wkhs, sklz... a bunch more... the thing that I look for most is movement and intraday change.

Looks nice but I can get quadruple 24” for dirt ass cheap used… easily beats ur set up for almost nothing… used 24” monitors are about $40-50 used.

I didn’t look at used. Also you need to calculate the value of your time finding and getting 4x monitors from potentially 4 different sources. But yeah depending on circumstances it could be a lot cheaper.
