The 22 dollar apple peeler can be adjusted. There's a nut on the side where it peels the skin off, that you can move depending on how big your apple is. That way the peel saves more apple

Dave's green "carrot sharpener" from Singapore is actually a budget spiralizer. We have one at home and its so handy to make courgetti without spending too much on a bigger gadget we wouldn't use enough. Pretty clever in my book 😊
@zen_ccg
@zen_ccg 2 жыл бұрын
I have one that looks like a peeler and I find it far more convenient that the pencil sharpener shape personally. I find it convenient for getting small strands of carrot to use in a salad or as a side. We got it in a bundle with a few various thickness cuts. Not a "spiraliser" and more a "long thin cutter" but same appearance at the end tbh. I love it and we got it super cheap online!

did u know ? : cous cous is a traditional plate in tunisia , in africa(my country if you wanna eat something sweet, add some olive oil and 3 tea spoons of sugar and , if you like , you can add some pomegranate if you want something hot and spice , try adding some hot sause (here is the recipe): first , boil some oil , but not too much , then add tomato jam and some seasoned paprika and let sit for 5 minutes , then add some water (if you want some more taste , add chickpeas), let it boil while your mixing it , then add any meat you like , (it doesn't work with pork or bacon) it works with chicken , goat , cow , sheep , bull and turkeyand , there you go! this is how you cook cous cous , tunisia style fun fact!: we , tunisians , created couscous ( this is how you type it) heinz beans and broth (there are A TON of other foods , but i cannot translate them into english , if some people know arabic , i can type the rest of the foods)

That makes me happy :) Back in my day, there was a literal candy room (manned by one yard duty at a time) that would open EVERY recess & be swarmed like the candy shop in Willy Wonka. They'd sell us everything from corn nuts to now & laters... I remember buying singular now & laters for 25 cents a piece... In hindsight, they were really ripping us off 😂🙈 How you gonna take a 2nd graders measley allowance $$ like that?! Lol Oh yes, this was elementary school kids they were selling to, not even middle schoolers. Man I haven't thought about that in years... That's messed up! 😂

I have one of those apple corers/slicer/peelers and I love it. Mine however was $40 (Canadian) retail and is cast iron. The suction is amazing, and never pops off the counter. Just a heads up that you can adjust the depth of the peeler so it will not remove so much apple (or at least you can on mine), and the slicer is also optional. I own a KitchenAid, but would never pay $125 for that attachment when my $40 unit works so well. This is coming from someone who peels dozens of apples every year for many, many bottles of preserves. So I guess I have to say that while your gadget might not have worked as well, I have to give the idea as a whole a clever 😀

I worked at an orchard and we used a very similar model to the "cheap" apple corer Dave used! It's an old technology but honestly works great; only downsides are that you don't get to control the width of the slices and with use the small blades that are actually doing the cutting can sometimes dull over time 👍 But for recreational bakers who like to make apple pies it's great

6:51 those can be damaging to your phone. Your phone battery is not designed to power an electric motor, in the long run this can damage your battery which will probably need replaced. On a hot day just get a small battery powered fan that will cost about the same

The cuscuz is a North African dish, Libya ,Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco. and even before I finished the video I can tell you that the couscous wont work with the cube mould Because the couscous molecules aren't sticky as the rice the rice molecules are sticky So they stick together forming a cube shape, but the couscous is not it might take the cube shape for several minutes, but it'll break down. you can mix the couscous with some potatoes (make sure you smash the potatoes and mix it with the soub that you've prepared the couscous with it will help ) in order to make it sticky

Actually it's for making veggie noodles. I've seen another reviewer try it with cucumbers. It's for more healthy eating than eating regular noodles. There should be a way to make thin and thick noodles. From what he showed, it worked very well. It looks like it can make carrot noodles too.

The Teddy bear rice mould reminds me of the little rice mountains the kids meals in Japan have (pretty sure they just put the rice compacted into a bowl and flip it onto a plate) . Usually with a little flag sticking out of it and curry or a little saucey steak and veg with it, definitely an adorable little character for little ones. Gotta love making food fun and cute for people. C:

Growing up, our apple peeler slicer corer had a clamp, not a suction cup. Clamp it to the edge of your table and it was rock solid! It also had an adjustable peeler piece. It was always the kids' jobs to crank it (for pies, dried apple, crips, etc.) and it was loads of fun.

For the Pro Froster: It isn't meant to complete the action in one step. Do the side at the angle, add frosting to the top, then pull it back so the side no longer makes contact to correct the top. Finish with one level pass contacting the side to remove the bead of frosting that forms at the top edge.

I have had a manual corer/peeler/slicer for years, and I absolutely love it. We have a lot of apple trees, and when you are processing bushels of apples for drying, canning or freezing, it's indispensable. You can adjust the peeler (at least on mine) to take off less of the apple.
