After running in high school, at the NCAA level at USC and becoming a pro track and field sprinter for 10 years, I've seen many things that hold athletes back from running faster. In this video, you get a breakdown of what these common mistakes look like in reality and a solution for each to help get you back on the right track to running faster. Worrying about other peoples opinions is an easy way to get distracted from doing the things you need to do in order to be running faster. Constantly chaning the plan and never allowing your coaches training program to develop will reset your progress and hold you back from running faster. Overtraining is one I see frequently because people think they need to do more to keep up with all the track and field sprint workouts they see on social media, but not recovering will hold you back from running faster. Comparing yourself to others will have you in the wrong frame of mind and not trusting the process will keep you from continuing to develop more speed. Thinking you have all the answers and there is nothing left for you to learn is an easy way to hold you back from running faster and stunting your growth as a sprinter.

Thank you aaron. You’ve been a big help with your videos. I’ve watched them all. Yesterday I participated in my divisional meet and places 400m 2nd(55.7secs) , 800m 1st (2.12.0) longjump 1st (5.68m). And week before i ran in a district meet and places 1st in 800m(2..09.08 my first ever 800m). I just turned 15yo and last year i ran 400m(53 secs flat) and jumped 6m before my injury. Your content is really reeally helping me out man.

I feel the athletes are underpaid...the sport should do something that brings monetary like: 1.Sell merchandise e.g funko pops,toys,tshirt 2.Marketing make rivalries more entizing 3.Huge bonuses for breaking records AR,WR,.etc 4.Fans can get an action on the track like during break like the nba does 5.Make undefeated streak more sentimental... 6.Put sponsors on uniform like aaron could but coca cola logo on his racing jersey 7.Emphasize on distance relays...like 4x800 and 4x1500m 8.More Awards for athletes like most improved, etc...

Hey aaron Can you reply me I have question about synthetic track and surfaces When i run slowly synthetic track give good bounce at 50 to 60 percent effort for 200 and 400 m When i increase the effort 70 to 80 percent my feet spend more ground contact ,,my timing 12 to 14 second in synthetic track for 100 mtrs When i practice on natural grass track ,,my feet feel good My timing 14 to 12 second on grass track for 100 m , whenever grass give not good bounce Please help me ,i feel dilemma in my progression
@kingsleysc
@kingsleysc 4 ай бұрын
I think you’re overthinking it. I don’t spend anywhere near this much energy thinking about the surfaces. I would spend that energy on your technique and training and the recovery you’re doing off the track. You’ll see more gains there rather than worrying about surfaces 👍🏾
