Good, straightforward advice. Your Hide dog is a good one. But, boy, I sure do like the looks on that Tuff pup, and I'm not even a Walker guy. All the best.

@NITELIFEKENNEL Жыл бұрын
@Texan rancher if your young you won't need much sleep. I used to work all day, coon hunt at night, get 3hrs of sleep and go back to work. Did this 4 or 5 nights a week. Fond memories

Other than a dog with a nameplate on its collar, I believe the #1 thing I won't hunt without is a tracking system. One night I trusted that my son had everything ready to go. We drove 45 minutes to out spot and didn't have the tracking collars. We didn't even turn loose, went straight back home.
@NITELIFEKENNEL5 жыл бұрын
Lol ive done that a couple times too. Usually I have my system but forgot to turn it off last time I hunted and thought I would have plenty of battery left when I went hunting again. Needless to say I didn't lol

I need to know how someone goes about finding sponsors for competition hunting ?
@NITELIFEKENNEL Жыл бұрын
Contact businesses and ask. You'll need a track record of doing well in anything you do if you ask for sponsorships for it. Not saying that you don't do well, I'm just preparing you for what they will want to see.

Great videos Nick thanks a lot. Can you refer me to any videos or reading on gator and snake safety while coon hunting? I live in florida and they are abundant in my area can't find many tips thanks again

I'd say just search that on KZfaq. I definitely don't have any experience around gators lol

Thanks for the the tips I just got a 5 month bluetick from a friend whos getting me in the sport this year and curious there is about 5 acres of wood next to our property I get coons on trail cam every year when baiting corn and another thing where would be a good spot to let her roam and stay with her creek or public?
@NITELIFEKENNEL3 жыл бұрын
Its a good place to walk her to get her interested in Coons for sure but if she ever takes chase she will probably get off that property quick. But if I was you I would definitely use it to try and get her interested in Coon

What type of dog would you recommend for a beginner coon hunter
@NITELIFEKENNEL3 жыл бұрын
Any breed, but get an older experienced hound that knows what its doing so you can get started hunting and treeing coons and not have to worry about training a dog.

I'm new here, im trying to get into this sport! There isn't any clubs and I have a 5 month redbone, and I've started on sent and there is lots of public land I'm by and I got my traps to get him on a live coon. To get the smells and sounds . What can I do that can help my boy be his best. Can I come on a hunt with anyone to get some knowledge and experience of the how to

Hello thank you and welcome to the #nitelifefamily 1st off sounds like your are off on the right foot. Where do you live? You need to find someone who can mentor you and take you hunting. Show you the ropes and help you train your puppy. You can start by looking on Facebook coon hunting groups for people in your area. Southern Cooner, Nite Life Kennel and many other coon hunting groups on Facebook.

@@NITELIFEKENNEL I live in North Texas, and were( Dawgy dawg & I ) willing to travel. Knowledge and experience is priceless. Now, I haven't done any trapping and I saw your other videos on the philosophy of it. So, I'm going to trapp, and not let him see it , and work on live tracks to start off. The lands that were working have coons, I have seen of tracks, and have heard their chatting. But there are also hogs, deer, and Coyotes. So, for now I'm just going during the day, and make sure we end up on the tracks and areas that coons travel. He goes nose down tail up, or if he is close to something his nose goes up and smells the air. Then I see he follows a scent for a few yards and then goes back to the starting point of the smell.
