First look wasn't color balanced. The grey should have been white and the undershirt a black or navy to match the coat. This way the sweater matches *both* of the other two. (Navy/khaki , Navy/white, khaki/white ) balance. Grey works with white and works with navy but fails with khaki. As an undershirt black works as well as the Navy and goes with any color.

A black shirt would look awful with the navy coat combined. And the contrast between the white sweater you suggest and the black shirt would be was to stark for his skin tone and would crash with the navy coat as well.

- Brian, great outfits! i like all 5! please do seasonal looks too. will be great to see your outfit combinations at different times of the year. - sometimes when dressing up the sneakers, the outfit may be put off. but you did it perfectly. i really like that chalkstripe jacket. - it's important to get a clean, streamlined pair of white sneakers for maximum versatility. a bulky sneaker (i.e. airforce ones) or even a adidas stan smith (which many ppl default to), are not streamlined enough to be used in both casual and slightly elevated situations. Hi Brian, First of all, thank you for all your content and video's! I love watching them for some styling advise. The problem is though, that I converted to Barefoot shoes a while ago and I can't seem to figure out which shoes work best with a business casual look. I just can't wear regular dress shoes for a whole day at work without cramping up my feet and getting blisters all over them. Is this something you could make a video about in the future? Excellent post Brain -- the added details are subtle and elegant. The first two looks are my favorite of the mix, but I tend to shy away from mixing tailoring (except for flannels) with sneakers. You balance the two well, so maybe I should reconsider. I am curious to hear your review of Koio versus M.Gemi and Common Projects (or other sneakers you have worn before).

Wearing these sneakers today and saw it on my favorite channel. It gets even better after some wear (have been wearing it for 3month now). As always great outfits put together by Brian! Do you suggest any of the Avalanche series from Koio? I have moved to the Bay Area from Baltimore and it is very difficult to dress up in the office here on the west coast. Not so into the newfound prevalence of sneakers everywhere but Koio makes some great looking pairs. I find I have trouble with the socks though.... black socks with white shoes catches the eye too much unless the outfit is black/dark and white socks can look a little too gym'ish. Any suggestions?

Totally depends on the rest of the outfit. Just find another dominant color in the outfit and choose socks close to that color. For example, in the second look, brown socks. In the first, you could do grey or navy. And so on.

Hey, Brian! Would you say that Koio's (white Capri) sneakers with their suede detailing appear more casual than, say, Ace Mark's (white Duke) sneakers which seem even more minimalist (because of less detailing)? Would Koio's sneakers therefore lend themselves to a more casual look (slim-fit outfits and more casual jackets)?

Great video as always Brian! Just a note: in outfit #4, I honestly do not like that much the separate combination. In my opinion, there is something that doesn't feel right in splitting a pinstripe/chalkstripe suit and matching it with odd trousers. That's also because of the formal nature of this pattern. You can feel something missing in the ensemble. Other than that, keep the nice work!

A great video once again Mr. Sacawa! Now let me analyze the outfits... Outfit #1: Beautiful classic outfit, and most probably my favourite outfit of the video, just loved how everything was working so well together. It would have been a great outfit had you just wore the white OCBD, the grey V-neck sweater and the Khakis on their own, but the addition of the peacoat really elevates the outfit and takes it to the next level. Love the navy blue colour of the peacoat, its versatile and the richness of this particular navy blue really adds a charm to your look. Outfit #2: My least favourite look. I don't like the idea of wearing a pair of jeans with a turtleneck, it just takes the sophistication out of the turtleneck in my humble opinion. Still a good outfit though, but just not upto the Brian Sacawa standards. Outfit #3: Quite neutral about this one, that camel overcoat is magnificent, but you've done a better job of pairing it with better items in the past. Still a great look. Outfit #4: Love it! Truly a great way to dress up a pair of white sneakers, or dress down a blazer. Truly a perfect combo of sophisticated and sporty. If someone ever asks me the question: How do I wear a blazer in a relaxed casual way, or dress up a pair of white sneakers? I will tell them to watch this video to get a great guideline for that. Outfit #5: Damn! I was so blown away when I first saw this look. So unique and so stylish. The colour combination is perfect and I love how the watch pulls in the colours of the outfit. I also love how unique this outfit is, a great way to show of your own personal style.

These styles are definitely beyond safe, all generation appropriate sneaker outfit pairings (jeans, 5 pocket cords, simple chinos, polos, buttoned downs, crew neck tees/sweaters, sweatshirts, casual / workwear jackets). I loved the 1st outfit, liked the 2nd &3rd, wasn't crazy about the rest. I feel the more formal pieces added such as wool dress trousers, sport coats, suits, top coats, etc..., the more youthful / juvenile the outfit becomes (not necessarily a good thing). The only time I could imagine myself wearing sneakers w/ elevated pieces is if I had a foot malady and the comfort necessity of a sneaker trumped any other footwear option.

I'm with you 80% of the way (i.e., four of five outfits). Number four is a miss for me-not because of the sneakers, but because the chalk stripe suit jacket should only be paired with its chalk stripe pants. I just can't see breaking up such an obvious business suit and wearing the jacket as a separate. That aside, great looks on the other four!

Here's my logic, such as it is: the chalk stripe telegraphs suit, and for me at least, that trumps things such as flannel or not, color, etc. I suppose that's why stores don't sell the jacket as a separate. But as you hinted, different strokes for different folks. Your blog is a wonderful forum to voice varying opinions.

Less than some in this category, but yes, still more expensive than others. I'm going to do a deep dive comparison between these and Common Projects soon, but I can tell you that overall, these are an extremely high-quality alternative to Common Projects--literally almost the same exact shoe.

I feel you. It's like getting that first ding or scratch on a new car. It hurts. If you are diligent about cleaning them, however, you shouldn't have to worry much at all.

It’s usually a toss up-either light color, like a cream, or something dark like navy or grey. Depends on the vibe. For more sporty, light. Dressier, dark. Nothing fancy.
