My list of 50 things to get rid of when going minimalist! Decluttering can be challenging when you're first getting into it. If you're currently in the process of decluttering your home, you're probably feeling a bit stumped and asking yourself "what should I get rid of when decluttering." That's exactly why I created this 50 things to get rid of when decluttering and going minimalist video!
I tried to stick to things that not a lot of people think of, or feel they have permission to get rid of.

I believe that minimalism and sustainability should go hand in hand. In a lot of these parts you say: Just get rid of it. You also mention the "20 20 rule" and you say if you can get it in less than 20 minutes then get rid of it and you can always replace that object. We need to take into consideration all of the resources that went into the making of our product. And throw things out ONLY if we absolutely need to. Our best option is donating / reselling if we don't like something or swap with friends. :) TIP: If you have wax in candles that doesn't have a smell anymore you can take it out, reheat it and add your favorite smells there. You'll have a candle as good as new.

I love candles too!! SO MUCH 😂 Actually, another person here commented that they melt down almost-empty candles and repurpose the wax to make tea lights! I'm going to try doing this with all my leftover candles moving forward! 🤍

The makeup one resonates with me 😂😂😂 Quarantine has made me realize how much I hate wearing makeup, so I just donated most of it either to my mom, family, or [women's] centers or threw it [the makeup product] away

Just wanna say thank you for these videos its given me a much needed kick in the butt haha. I was a successful minimalist last year before i did a bunch of traveling and once i got back it seemed like i collected stuff! So back to decluttering I go!

I decluttered some stuff yesterday, from my parents' house,they are hoarders! My biggest problem are bags, I am crazy about them lol also,love to collect pretty notebooks even if I don't need them much,and pretty mugs! Can't wait for your new videos from new town!

I respectfully disagree about getting rid of multiples in regards to cooking utensils. At least for my lifestyle, I use so many and quickly run out before I can do a load of dishes! Just find what works for you! Minimalism is definitely different for everyone but at least we can share our similar journeys together 🥰

Hahaha it’s soooo easy to buy these nifty appliances for our kitchen and then barely ever use them. 😂 we had the same experience when we bought a spiralizer and ended up donating it!

If I need to keep physical receipts for tax purposes I store them into folders to keep them organized, I do plan on purchasing quickbooks soon to store them digitally though so I don’t add to any physical clutter. For budgeting receipts like grocery’s, I store them digitally into Google sheets and then toss the physical copy! 🥰🤍

I don’t have kids right now so I’m not the right person to talk about this unfortunately. I highly encourage you to check out Sarah Therese on KZfaq! She’s a minimalist momma of three young kiddos and I feel she does an amazing job of keeping her house tidy and organized by involving the whole family! 🤍

Bring old medicine to pharmacies or hospitals. Do NOT throw in garbage and please please especially do not flush them or wash them away!!

Thank you so much for this! I will definitely make sure I do this in the future, I knew not to flush them and I discarded them with coffee grounds, but I didn’t know pharmacies accepted expired otc pills. 🤍 thank you thank you
