The alleged mastermind accused of orchestrating the brutal murder of FSU law professor Dan Markel took the stand and faced a fierce line of questioning from the prosecutor seeking a conviction against him. Charlie Adelson fired back numerous times, prompting the judge to intervene, while attempting to stick to his story, which contradicts the state’s evidence. The Law&Crime Network’s Jesse Weber breaks down the six most intense moments from Adelson’s testimony under cross-examination.

So, he's saying that they didn't get a payment up front, etc., etc. before supposedly taking it upon themselves to do the deed - just based on the assumption he had money and would pay them after the fact? Yes, he's saying Katie blabbed to her friends that Charlie had over 300K cash in his house, and that she also happened to relay the hitman/TV joke to those same people, and they put two and two together. So, the killer/extortionists drove TWO times to Tallahassee from Miami, completely on their own idea, they somehow knew how to find Dan Markel's home and trail him, only to kill him, return home, and tell Katie that she has 48 hours to get Charlie to cough up the 300K for this "favor" that they were doing for the family, or someone else connected to the Adelsons is next. It's crazy that the states prosecutors office didn't have irrefutable evidence to clear any and all doubt. Is Charlie innocent? NO. Not guilty does not mean innocent. If Charlie is found not guilty on 1st degree murder it will be because the state didn't prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Charlie Adelson is guilty of 1st degree murder charge with solicitation. That's a damning and heavy charge. This is my opinion. Common sense would tell anyone with a brain that the defenses theory is a long shot, but the state didn't wrap this charge up with a clean perfect neat guilty bow. This is all my opinion... again no one would do a hit without payment, the state needed to prove that!!! Proof that Charlie paid for Dan's murder PRIOR to or directly after the hit.

My one question that will NEVER make sense...they had offered Dan Markel $1 million for Dan to move so Wendi would have the boys so why would Charlie "pay" the extortion instead of just letting "them" kill Dan since they wanted him to go away anyway! Why would these extortionist use Dan when everyone knows the family hates Dan?? That makes no sense! Dan is the EX husband of Wendi that they don't like and last I checked thats not exactly how extortionist usually play their cards b/c it doesn't seem plausible to be a guarantee pay! Why extort him with a victim he just happens to have "jokingly" said he wanted to hire a hitman a year prior! It's not rocket science! Some may say "well they did it this way using Dan so they could frame Charlie since everyone knew he hated dan" but that's not what Charlie even said happened when you hear the entire convoluted story he gave! Ppl also have said his story has never changed which is NoT true and he got tripped up by Georgia on the stand about whether he believes Katie was involved or not! Jeff Lacasse's testimony even know it wasn't long and drawn out along with his quirkiness definitely I think will hold more weight than most think! If he thought Katie was so guilty why not testify against her nor Takito and taco...that all looks bad within itself if you swear it was all them! He didn't even go to the cops after the LK's were arrested! P.s. I hope no one in this jury is related to anyone from the Casey Anthony jury we may be screwed!
