6G Inconel, max TIG Welding Procedure F34, F4X ! Welder performance qualification with tig filler wire ER NiCrMo-3, Inconel refers to a group of specific nickel-chromium alloys used in different welding processes. Inconel is most commonly used in techniques that require a high heat tolerance. Welding Inconel can be rather difficult because the welds that are created have a tendency to crack.
6G position requires one pipe to be positioned at a 45-degree angle. This weld is considered the most challenging type of weld to perform because it requires welds that are made in all positions. The root process is a weave over a filler rod. Hot pass by getting the tow of the pool to the walls, protecting root.

None of these videos are recorded in a fancy shop surrounded by sponsorship banners!
All of my videos are recorded at working sites in various locations and in different welding positions.
90% of my welding projects in videos are x-rayed, and if you like to see hands-on projects, welcome!

How many amps were you running on the root? BTW you have some of the best videos for welding I've ever seen. Even though I've been doing welding, I always ask questions about it learning more than I did before. You're instruction is awesome and thank you for what you do.

Great job on the 625 as verified with the bends. Years ago while welding for Dow Chemical I developed the WPQR & WPS for Inconel 690 (high pressure/high temp) for Phenol service. After which I welded 400+ 2”xxhy-4”xxhy butt welds 75% in 5G position free-hand, balance rolled.(tells how long ago it was LOL) The 1st thing I learned with the nickel heavy material is I needed a “uniform keyhole” for a 100% root and I see the same as you put your root in. In Dow we welded to the ASME Codes and to the ANSI B31.3 for most piping. All Inconel 690 welds were radiographed 100% as per ANSI B31.3 “Severe Service” classification.

Love your videos I have a question why do you like bridge tacks over root tacks, like you have to grind them out and it just seems inconvient compared to a root tack, I know you know what your doing Im just wondering why you prefer bridge tacks. This is with respect I'm just bad at explaining what I mean.
