I've found physical therapist to be more effective in relieving the pain long term - you need to strengthen the muscles, not just get popped. It's like an immediate relief vs delayed relief but more permanent.

That "shoulder blade to opposite pocket" move felt amazing for my opposite ("pocket side") middle/lower back! That was surprising. I'm getting good advice from these physical therapists. So many times you click on a site and there are too many promotional things to buy. Bob and Brad use everyday items to help you and it's clear that their intent is to help a person manage pain. They also encourage you to get exercise which is something I'm having trouble with. I've pushed the Subscribe button which is something I rarely do and I know that they will be able to help me in the future. If not I guess I'll have to seek out a live physical therapist

Thanks guys - I agree these are good, and are best worked in through the day. I’m a retired MD and yoga teacher. Two comments: 1) With neck extension (looking up) it’s important to begin in good upright posture, with head slid back to neutral. If head is forward, extension is markedly limited. 2) Bob - when you’re lying down, you tend to keep your head lifted, as if you want to talk to someone. This presents an odd position (for example, doing your hamstring stretch) which makes your demos less clear. Excellent video!

After breaking my femur I have osteoporosis and broke a vertebrae in my back… you were the only ones I found that could guide me on exercise…( I took yoga six days a week and worked out with a trainer and put in five miles a day on the treadmill plus the stepper.. prior to this break!! After going to a therapist here with no attention to my individual problems I turned to you guys… personal guidance … anyway I appreciate you guys so much

I have to say this is my favourite of your intros! I’m a person that prefers to get to the point immediately! I love your videos and have been subbed for years, it’s so much more convincing to see people of my own age exercising rather than youngsters who naturally have no idea how my older body reacts!

One way I ensure good posture in the car is to set my mirrors that if I slouch, I cannot see them. I must straighten my spine and tuck my chin to see out the rear view mirror. Built in! I'm a yoga teacher, at 60, and it's amazing how many of the exercises you showed was yoga! Keep it up! (But I'm not on Facebook)

Your premium is $700/month for healthcare?! Wow!!! That's robbery! Here in BC, Canada for provincial healthcare, family of 3 pays $75/month. In AB they don't pay a premium at all. For extended health benefits through work, $165/month. I hope America gets their healthcare system in order.

I just came across your page, because of the video on the Chi Machine’s site. You just mentioned something at about the 8 minute mark that I’ve never heard and it’s such a simple way to check in, mind you, I’ve been going to PT, chiropractors, massage therapists, etc since March 2018 when I had a bad read-ending car accident that resulted in a spinal cord injury. You mentioned thumb placement to check your shoulder posture and I’m floored. So simple, but so effective. Thank you. I was in bed and just stood up and realized my thumbs weren’t aiming forward, but rather about 45 degrees-so maybe between the two positions of bad and good, as you demonstrated. Thanks for that. Man, I wish I was nearby, I’d like to see what else y’all could show me that could get me thinking outside the box.

I have always just loved watching your videos, especially when you talk about spinal stenosis, which is what I have. I have learned so much and like so many others, your guidance, caring and experience have made a huge difference. BUT...the real reason I am writing is this: my father had this exact same disease. He was diagnosed in the early 1970's, and at the time they called it cerebellum dysfunction. We had to sell my mother's dream home, moved into a home half that size, and he had to stop working as a harbor pilot. But we all got through it together as family, until we lost him to a stroke in 1980. God bless you Bob as you travel this journey; your spirit is strong, your family is strong, your community is strong. We are and will continue to be out here, cheering for you!

Also, try keeping your back flush against a wall with your hands at your side. Slowly raise your arms as high as you can with the back of your hands against the wall, but do not allow you back or buttocks, or shoulders to lose contact from the wall. Hold for 3 seconds, do it five times consecutively for a great stretch! Also, try to walk with your shoulders back, chest out like you are imitating a soldier. It will do wonders for your form and muscle balance. These worked great for me. I hope this helps! (I learned these from a chiropractor and a doctor)

Thanks for many great videos and tons of helpful info! It helps me to think of the “chin tuck” as sliding the head backward on a level track, to avoid a tilt either forward or backward. And it’s great to do against the car seat head rest, with a thorough exhalation, for some nice resistance to increase muscle activation. I get some nice relief that way. I also like to make good use of the time while I’m at the gas pump and do a few stretches, shoulder rolls, etc.
