If you're using the same nutrients for your strawberries and tomatoes, you're probably starving the tomatoes. Strawberries need about 500-600 ppm while tomatoes need more like 1200 ppm.

Thanks for sharing your grow experience! Excellent info. I hear a lot of ppl say it takes 2-3 years to get fruit from seeds but it seems that may be due to outdoor climatic changes but growing hydroponically eliminates this pause.

Thanks for the info. I just started growing hydroponic stuff strawberries included. I got dormant crowns from a vendor on amazon though and almost every since one of mine has taken off and is doing great. I feel like they have hit a wall though and dont seem to be getting much bigger or getting to that next stage. They look healthy they just have slowed down. Im trying a few options to find out what works best for me and my set up but i am enjoying the process and appreciate people like you posting and sharing their experience with all of this

I skinned some store-bought berries, dried them, scraped the seeds of a few days later, then planted them with a humidity dome and a month later, had my first sprouts. One plant has grown quite large since I converted it to hydroponics and I think it's almost ready to produce fruit. Your seven years experience grabbed my attention. Thank you!

Introduce neem oil to your garden. It illuminates mold and mildew and stuff like that. Also cover your buckets or get black ones to prevent light from growing algae

I'm just an Aerogarden consumer b/c my own was unsuccessful and Aero has secret sauce. But I nute every 2 weeks as recommended and swap out and clean everything when I do it so it's all balanced, clean, and new. The only trouble I have is starting seeds so I put them in a moist dark baggie then dump them into the Aero when they sprout roots.

Oh I gotta try this, haven’t done soilless since the organic aeroponic sludge incident but this looks good lol Great video strawberry seedlings are around 3-5 $/piece so starting from seed is essential for economic efficiency I wonder how’d you’d check for active microbiology, is there a test? The reason starting from seeds is better is because as they grow they are adapted to your environment where the already grown plants will not do as well because they were grown in completely different environment from the start. I have lots of house plants and I have witnessed them not doing well especially hard to grow varieties like alocasia. The original growth grown not in my home usually will die but then the brand new growth does amazing as it is adapted as it grows from new.

Does anyone know if hydroponic strawberries would have the same fisetin content as dirt grown?

Looking very nice, my friend. So far I harvested 2 strawberries, both from my Kratky setup, my DWC's make lots of great leaves. I'm thinking I'm lacking sufficient lighting and I have them in 2" net pots which I'm realizing was a very very very very bad idea (way too cramped). My plan is to transplant them to dirt in about 4 weeks. I did get one runner to root... so I got that going for me, which is nice. I decided to smash it because I dig your crazy strawberry harvest. Oh, I'm glad you finally caught the little thief. Pfft, kids, they're awful ;-)

I bought strawberry plants, had flowers and fruit. I’m going try growing my strawberries in one of my hydroponic system. You also mentioned beneficial microbes, what make did you use? I also grown tomatoes inside my house and it grew very well, got lots of fruit. I grew the tomatoes in pots,started them on a window sill.

started last year, but had no success because i did a few mistake. so this year i give it another chance. waiting for results.

My goal is using Hydroponics without coco coir, peat or anything the fungus gnats would be a problem. I'm a newbie at starting my own seedlings indoors, and got infested with those critters from my Start Coco Coir mix!! I tried Neem Oil, I tried boiling water over the starter soil before using, and I have those sticky shape inserts. And tried watering with inverted cut bottles stuck deep into the soil to water, to avoid the top 2 inches getting moist. Still got gnats!!! So I'm done with any type of soil mix! I think you're tomatoes are too wet....perhaps allow the top roots more exposure to air & only allow the longer roots in the water. I over-winterized 5 different types of peppers last year, so I'm got to try converting them to Hydroponics this winter.

I moved to Alaska, and brought with me 2 big aerogardens. The first year was so dissappointing - tomatoes, peppers, but this year, I put in strawberries (mara something french)-OMGoodness they are awesome! and it is much more worth my time. I was wondering what type would be better for an ongoing supply: day neutral, ever-bearing, or june? How long does it take the june bearers to fruit up again? I had no clue how much fertilizer - so mix up a gal of high quality and pour about 1/4 of the gal in each tank - everything seems ok. for tomatoes it seems to be that transpiration is limited. if you have not found a solution, could adding a ventilator to increase air flow, potentially help?

It may be that the light source/kind for cucumbers and tomatoes is supposed to be stronger, it produces from flower. Strawberries and lettuce (Kale) thrive with the blue spectrum and some red. Tomatoes thrive with more red than blue when it fruits or flowers.

putting a fan in there oslolating will correct that leaf burn issue you have going on.

I heard that strawberries need to rest/overwinthering and therefore not suitible growing indoors or overwinther indoors. How does it work when growing them indoors? 😊

get a TDS pen and keep it under 1000 also add botanicare cal mag everything looks either too strong or mag. diffecncey. also check ph something is off.

So I've got several types of tomatoes growing & flowering. However, just like yours, they are wilted. I've changed out the solution, I've tried diluting the solution and now I even have an Amish Paste in just plain water. The 2 cherry tomatoes I grew from seed are doing the best, tons of blooms but still not as strong as they should be. I did trim the most wilted leaves off, hoping to help the plants energy. But I still don't know why they're not strong. So were you able to figure out the issue with your tomatoes? My strawberries did really well at first but now they're dying. I didn't grow them from seed, I actually just snipped off runnings from my outdoor garden. And i did a stupid thing though, I didn't rinse the outdoors strawberries in insect soap, so I found teeny tiny spider eggs. Gave them all a bath in it yesterday, now I wait & watch to see if they'll grow or did I kill them. Lol

Tomatoes need much more light, heat and dryness. They're suffering from disease from the moisture.

Tomatoes and strawberries should not be grown side by side, as they easily transmit diseases to and from each other. Also if your running it from the same reservoir tomatoes and strawberries require completely different nutrients and PH.
