70 Years After Plane Crash, Pilot Finds Wreckage In San Diego Mountains

70 years ago today, a plane crashed into the Laguna Mountains just east of San Diego, killing 27 people. At the time, it was the deadliest airplane disaster in history - but the wreck site has been lost for decades. Now, after a grueling 8-month search, a Poway man has found it again. KPBS video journalist Katie Schoolov has more.

So he's not finding lost aircraft, he's finding crash sites that have become lost and forgotten through the years. Still cool.

I was lucky to find this video. It's very sad for me as my grandfather was on that flight on his way home from World War II. He died so close to home my mom grew up without a father for the time she was 4

I hiked the mountain. I found an intact baby bottle. It IS the same plane wreck you investigated

That breaks His heart just as much. Only times a trillion. And even though our choices brought sin and death into the world, He still gets the blame. BUT THANK GOD FOR JESUS THE WONDERFUL PROMISE OF REDEMPTION AND ETERNAL LIFE. That two-year-olds in heaven right now.
