I enjoy watching your tutorials, simple and easy to understand for non pilots. I've a question about the Set Auto/ Manual Speed Target knob, located left of Capt PFD. Unlike A320, ATR doesn't have Auto Throttle. After setting the speed target with the knob, how do you get the ATR to follow the speed target?

In the FMS of ATR, is there a FIX function ? It would be great getting a circle drawn on the map, to a waypoint of your choice..and a distance you specify, just like in CRJ and MD82. Danke !

In order to get VNAV PATH going...as in activated and bringing the aircraft down..you do need to have Speed and Altitudes programmed in FMS, right ? I mean for each waypoint, there must be an entry, how else would ATR calculate and action what to do ?

If you're navigating with NDB, how do you get it to display on MDF ?

VNAV won't engage at cruise? It is showing ALT select on the PFD and it quickly disappears after

i feel like i have done something wrong but i am unable to change or add constraints to a waypoint as you are doing at 3:50. i only get a NOT ALLOWED message in the free text box.

Hi Emmanuel, Thanks again for your very precise tutorials on this ATR bird. I noticed that you do not set the course of the ILS (only the freq.). Does it mean that the localizer can operate without the ILS course information or will you set the ILS course later on ? Kind regards EDIT : Yes indeed, you set manually the ILS course in the next tutorial (Descent, Approach and landing) at 5:15. I feel a bit uncomfortable to do it that way because you set ILS twice : once during descent preparation for the ILS frequency and a second time after crossing transition altitude for the ILS course at a time when things accelerate, not to speak about traffic controls... I would logically do both ILS operations at descent preparation for resting my mind, knowing that "ILS is SET" (entirely). Is there any reason to split both ILS operations ? Other questions, if I may : - is ATR 72-600 able to land ILS Cat3 ? - Why do you copy the FPLN on the secondary one ? In which situation you would find it useful ? PS/ Thx for the tips for the blinking mda and for setting the PFD/SVS ! 😉 Have you noticed that the automatic subtitles read " I'm Emmanuel, I'm Caroline Potter" instead of "airline pilot" 😄

I notice during descent, after VNAV was activated, why the FMA sometimes display ALT* instead of VNAV PATH ?
