If it’s not bonded or solid copper it probably won’t stay together but it doesn’t mean it won’t take down game. From the looks of those jugs I’m guessing it would handle all but the biggest animals with ease with good broadside shots. Good shooting and happy hunting. I enjoy the videos. 👍

Yes sir possibly better result with ballistic gel and further distance.

I took three deer with 143 grain ELDX in my 6.5 PRC last year. None of them went further than 10 yards. Water jugs and Animals are different. You cannot conclude a hornady bullet sucks because they don’t hold together in water. Lol.

They don’t hold together well in game either. Lol
@edstettin67999 ай бұрын
When it comes apart, it creates more wound channels. Hits more organs and guarantees the animals going down. That’s exactly what I saw using it. It does not over penetrate and go out the other side. Like a lot of these bullets, others seem to love. It dumps all it’s energy in the animal. To each their own. They definitely don’t suck as you say.
@JJ-iu5hl7 ай бұрын
@@edstettin6799 I haven't heard that "leave all the energy in the animal" talk since the 90's. I didn't think anybody actually still said that. You shot deer. On an animal that small, bullet barely matters with a 6.5 prc. Go ahead. For actual large game, a shot that you might need 18" or more of penetration, bullets that turn into bird shot on impact won't cut it.

So you’re saying no one takes elk or moose with them huh? Right. I don’t work for Berger or any other bullet company. I’m just posting what I have seen and experienced firsthand. Use whatever bullet you want. The ELDX does not suck. It’s an excellent bullet.

To be fair Hornaday factory ammo and bullets are very accurate and good for varmints, but I have witnessed overexpansion in some of their "big game" bullets. Nothing better than Vmax for ground squirrels tho. Keep testing. I trying to settle on a hunting bullet for my 7 prc. You are saving me time.

If Norma comes out with a Bondstrike factory ammo for 7PRC like they did with the 6.5PRC that should be gold

I've got some Barnes 168 LRXs to load in my 7 PRC...hoping it will be a good combo.

I've killed quite a few animals with the Berger VLD bullets. They do the same thing but drop everything where they stand in my experience. I am rather neutral on bullets and how they turn out during testing. I honestly don't care what they look like as long as they quickly kill what I'm hunting. Have you tried the Hornady CX 160 grain in that 7PRC?
@RockinRack2 ай бұрын
Funny when hornady bullets dont hold together they suck... but when bergers explode thats exactly what they are made to do and its the best thing ever. Even core lokts come apart in water. If you want them to hold weight you need bonded or copper. But then you have to give up accuracy typically.

Awesome fun! It doesn't tell us anything about hunting performance, but that's ok, sometimes you just want to see jugs explode! God bless!
@BrandonandStacyHunt11 ай бұрын
Ya need some ballistic gel, probably make for a better performance test. Can’t tell much performance wise when they don’t stay together

Hornady bullets are garbage I just bought a 7prc I'm waiting on the federal terminal ascent 170 grain to come out much better bullet the eld line is nothing but a Hornady v max
@scottgreen653811 ай бұрын
Ascents are great hunting bullets but so are ELDs. The truth is water is hard on expanding bullets. I have a lot of Experience with deer (5-10 a year) and they work well. I've got expansion and pass-through from 2,860 fps down to 2250 fps.

Wait… you said hornady sucks but isn’t that the same load you guys take Moose with? Lol if not let me know I’m curious the bullets of Choice are for those big creatures

I have used them and they don’t hold together however always seem to get the job done
@markoeberhardt31326 ай бұрын
@@BrandonandStacyHunt I hear that pretty often. What was internal damage like? Cause people would say never shoot an ELDM on game but you put one into a moose and the thing tipped over backwards!!! I’ve seen the Match bullets do nasty damage but I’m also split between wanting some retention…

For match bullets, it doesn't matter what happens to the bullet once it hits the target. I have never liked Hornady bullets for anything. We exclusively load Nosler bullets for rifles.
