@@janamezi666 Yes Nia was there earlier in the night and did get booed then. However, the original build was for Becky V Ronda. That's what people who bought their tickets were looking forward to. Even if Becky getting a concussion was a work to get Charlotte V Ronda it wasn't the match they wanted to see. The people wanted to see Becky and that was taken away. Ultimately the match served as a reminder of what they were not getting. And without a clear place to put that unhappiness it just flowed onto Ronda.

It also didn’t help that her popularity basically peaked at Mania 34, she couldn’t cut a promo to save her life, displayed no charisma, got handed a title in like her fourth match, and was basically booked like Hulk Hogan in 1987. If that's the reason they booed her, why did it take more than half a year before the booing started?
@chrisgreig98
@chrisgreig98 5 жыл бұрын
@@catnip8896 Because she won the title. When celebrities have matches they're cheered, but when they win titles then the fans boo because it takes opportunities away from the pro wrestlers who worked for years to get there. Most people were fine with her until after she won at SummerSlam. Then it started going downhill from there.

I watched Rock vs Hogan with a group of people at a buddies house and before the match they had all decided that they wanted Hogan to go over. I was a huge mark for the Rock, even to the point of having a giant poster of him in my room by my bed, so I had no idea why a heel like Hollywood Hogan was getting so many people wanting to see him beat the Rock. It was the nostalgia of the 80s they said and the Toronto crowd in attendance was feeling it too. They were so loud that another tv show recorded in Toronto that aired live on Sunday nights could hear the crowd several blocks away. That match not going on last really hurt the Jericho V Triple H main event though cause it was such a tough match to follow.

When the fans turned on the Rock, I remember it being when he kept mailing in his promos from Hollywood. They kept promoting that he would be on Raw but he kept appearing via satellite on the big screen while on the set of some movie. I remember the crowd eventually began booing him so loud you couldn't even hear him talk. Shortly after that they gave him a heel turn since they were booing anyway.

I seem to recall Trish tried to quiet the crowd by saying something alone the lines of "her life is her business, lay off!" or something similar. The crowd reaction was instant, thunderous boos. Trish stopped in her tracks and handed the mic to Lita, just noped right out of there. I might be a little fuzzy on some details, but that's basically how I recall it. EDIT: Ok, I rewatched it and I guess it wasn't quite as dramatic as I thought it was. I guess the boos that rained down weren't as extreme, and Trish went with it and handled it pretty well, even though it might have slightly surprised her
