That’s awesome news! I love how risk is minimized too with funded futures and you can use your profits to fund another account for different strategies. I would encourage you to watch through all of the ICT core content playlists (12 total) and use what you’ve learned in step 1 of this video with the paper/demo account of your own. That will really hammer home smart money concepts & finding liquidity on the backs of the market makers! Totally agree though, No theta and no vega is such a HUGE win in my opinion. Plus super precise entries and exits

I’ve been doing funded accounts for years. When I first started, it was with topstep and they have very difficult evaluations to pass that require two steps 😭 I went through probably about 70 or so attempts to get funded. It’s a huge milestone when you do end up getting funded because it’s something very few traders can achieve and proves you can be a consistently profitable scalper or day trader. When I switched to Elite so I could get a larger account more quickly, it was much easier but that’s because I was much more experienced trader after years of trading futures. Also, it’s sort of a right of passage, but almost everyone, myself included, blows their first funded account. Something about that emotional excitement that has us fall apart and ignore our patience and strategy that got us funded to begin with 🤦‍♂️ but the good news is, once you do it once it becomes easier to do it again.

I chart on tradingview with ES/NQ up side by side then place trades on Tradovate with ES (or NQ in separate tabs) showing the 1D/1h/3m so I can take advantage of their brackets and the cleaner display of price action as candles form. Tradingview feels very laggy in comparison when it shows the way price delivers and their brackets aren’t nearly as nice.

@@FattyTrades thanks for the reply! I tried paper trading es on tradingview today, felt like how you described but I wasn’t sure if it was the program vs me being new to futures. What are your thoughts on ninjatrader since elite trading gives a license for it?

I haven’t used it because they don’t have a version for Mac and I switch between Mac & PC (which is another reason I love tradovates cloud interface - they just don’t have lines snap to candles like tradingview) but I’ve heard good things

Have you posted your tradovate setup anywhere (youtube, twitter)? I’ve been using tradingview and the tradovate DOM to the side but want to try your setup. Just not sure how to set up the tradovate chart: so you keep it naked or add any indicators to it?

You can certainly do so, however it can cause needless emotional impact for many. If it doesn’t impact your nerves to hit it with that much size then you can do it quick. However, the problem is it can lead a lot of people to a lot of resets if their strategy isn’t refined well enough.
