Create a safe and tranquil environment for yourself and commit to your meditation practice daily and experience the many benefits of consistency. Set aside the next 20 minutes for yourself. Start your day with this breath of life to focus and return to the now and be present.
I am honored to bring you this meditation especially written for Mike M., the community member who won our acts of kindness contest. Although the practice has been created for him, it will be a wonderful experience for all.
Let’s settle into this daily morning meditation. I invite you to make yourself comfortable. Find a position that you can be relaxed yet alert. Take a brief moment to connect with why you are coming to your practice. Acknowledge your motivations for this committed practice.
Breath in, I am aware I am breathing in, breathe out, I am aware I am breathing out.
Breathe in, I am aware of a thought arising in my mind, breathe out, I smile and let this thought pass.
Breathe in, I am aware of the space between thoughts, breathe out, I am calm and safe in this space.
Breathe in, I am in the present moment, breathe out, I know this is the only moment.
Breathe in, I am aware I am breathing in, breathe out, I am aware I am breathing out.

I literally have been listening to this EVERY morning for over 6 months, by far the best meditation video ive seen. I am a heavy thinker, so this really helps me settle my mind and be present in the moment. Thank you Sara!

Thanks! I'm now 3 months past my open heart surgery. I'm amazed at the improvement in everything, especially my breath. I do a lot of your meditations, but this was delightful. My breathing is perfect now, and this meditation encouraged me to fully appreciate and enjoy it!

I was experiencing shortness of breath due to my heart condition. The surgery allowed my breath to become steady and normal.

I'm facing open heart surgery soon to repair a congenital defect. I had a rough time last night getting to sleep thinking about it. I do a meditation each morning. What a gift it was this morning to get and listen to this new meditation. I'm downloading a selection of them for the upcoming challenge. Thank you.

another great moment with this channel. It's funny, sometimes when I focus on breathing or mediating, the words in my mind take on your voice. It's a good voice.

Thank you for this latest meditation. It was lovely to open my eyes and see your smiling face, Sara. I am still using your excellent videos to bring myself into balance and let my worries drop away. Each of them helps in a slightly different way but they all have a very good effect on lowering my blood pressure.

Mam I have been suffering from mental illness for so long.I thought medidation was the only solution to heal my mental illness.I watched many videos related to medidation but you are the best one mam.your way of teaching medidation is excellent

Hi, thanks for this great meditation. Such a wise voice you have. Can i ask for a 10 minute (may be and/or a 20 minute ) video which is just background music of this meditation. So that after your 20 minute meditation ends, we can keep doing for 10 more minutes by ourself. Thanks in advance

I have the opposite problem, the more am aware of my breath, the faster it (and my heartbeat) gets. It seems that my breath only starts to calm down and slow when I’m not focused on it or to manipulate it if I am focused on it. Any ideas to why this happens?

Maybe consider a mantra of “relax” on the exhale. 💜

Try to make sure your out breath is just a bit longer and slower than your in breath. I've struggled with the same phenomena (especially when doing yoga or Pilates) and ended up hyperventilating and getting light-headed. The slower exhalation will allow more CO2 to stay in your system-it's the same premise as breathing into a paper bag. Another device I use is to notice that natural pause between the end of one breath and the beginning of another - and let that be as long as feels comfortable. Sounds weird, but I've come to really enjoy that peaceful little "break" from breathing. I hope you find this helpful.

Very good one, really grounding and soothing. One question: I never know if I should relax my abdomen or contract it. Breathing deeply makes me move many core muscles in diferent ways and always gets most of my attention trying to adjust these muscles aligned with my posture.
