You both, along with Andrew, have blessed my life in a way I cannot begin to explain. Recently, I ran into someone in a Starbucks in Camarillo, California, who was studying Hebrew on his laptop. He was using a Hebrew grammar and workbook, both of which are excellent resources. Immediately, I started talking to him about Aleph with Beth. I have a lot of credibility because I am a Jewish believer in Yeshua, seminary trained, and an Old Testament and Semitic languages major. I explained how advantageous the Alpeh with Beth and Alpha with Angela videos have been. You are both a very important part of my life as I read both testaments in the original languages every day with greater comprehension. My confidence in Hebrew and Greek has increased since listening to your videos. I do everything I can to tell others, especially Bible college and seminary students and pastors, about your ministries. God bless you both, along with Andrew and Naomi.

These conversation in two parts gives me a better perspective on how every single Hebrew and Greek learning video is made. All the challenges that you both face (like being mom in Beth's case), all the difficulties that we viewers usually don't take into account. All the drawbacks that you have to overcome to produce all the highly appreciated material that you offer us in order to learn and improve our Hebrew and Greek. Thank you kindly. Since having you as teachers, we have to count our blessings. May God compensate and reward all you effort and work so that you keep on helping us out to learn or practice the two Biblical Languages. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Hi! I love Aleph with Beth. I am now on film 100, but I have now gone back to approx. no. 40 and am working more systematically. I need to spend more time on these films. I have also watched some filma with Angela which are so nice. I can't wait to start with them, but I choose to prioritize Hebrew first. For me, You Tube fits very well. Then I can listen to them when it suits me. I can listen to it many times. Thank you for doing this job. God bless you and love from Norway.

Thank you Angela and Bethany for so generously sharing your knowledge of both Greek and Hebrew. I started watching Beth's videos first until I discovered Angela's Greek. I'll get back to Beth's after I made good progress with Angela's Greek. I'm also a Patreon of Alpha with Angela. Live in Wales but am from Phalborwa in SA. Praying for both of you.

I didn't start with Aleph w/ Beth until I was in my fourth and final term of Hebrew, but since I have been through all of the lessons, and am starting over. So thank you Bethany! I start Greek I in about three weeks and I have been through all of the Alpha w/ Angela videos three times so far, so I feel like my approach to learning Greek will be much better than my original approach to learning Hebrew. It is so easy to get into the decoding mindset and not associate reading and listening with comprehending. Thank you both for all of the time you devote to helping us learn to better comprehend God's Word in the original languages!

Praying for you both! I found and started studying this summer Hebrew with א with ב…and I just wanted to say thank you. God gave me the time to immerse myself in the language so much that by late September when I ended up in the hospital for a week…I had just been listening to Psalms 8 and realized I knew all but one word of verse 9. So in one day I taught myself the word and then memorized the verse in Hebrew. In the hospital I had several days without a Bible, especially a Hebrew Bible. When I got one it was just New Testament in English. I was so glad that I was successful in memorizing this wonderful praise verse in Hebrew to get me through a tough time.

Your pronunciation is very helpful! Every letter has a different sound. Modern Greek with multiple letters with the same sound is frustrating! Also, most people teaching Biblical Greek have an annoying American accent. I love what you are doing and how you do it. Alpha with Angela and Aleph with Beth are two of my favorite sites. Comprehensible Input is very effective. I use it for teaching Spanish, French and German. 🙏🤗

Thank you for your kind words and insightful feedback! I'm really glad to hear that the pronunciation approach we use is helpful for you. I understand the challenges and frustrations that can come with learning and teaching languages, especially with the nuances of pronunciation in Biblical versus Modern Greek. It's fantastic to hear you're also a fan of Comprehensible Input, as used by Alpha with Angela and Aleph with Beth. Like you, I find it an effective method for language learning across the board. Thank you for your support and all the best with your teaching!

It makes the visual balance of the video quite aesthetically pleasing. :) Congratulations to you both, thank you for the content that you’re making, and may Christ grow both of your channels this upcoming year.

Thank you both so much for your ministry and service. Angela points out something that I have recently encountered, just from a learners perspective. There is a book called Epitome of the New Testament written as a sort of simplified stories from the New Testament to help language acquisition. Part of me feels a little uncomfortable with using it though, because it is rewriting the stories, on the one hand it doesnt claim to be the Bible, but maybe the reason that there is that uneasiness is even if it is accurate to the stories, I might mix it up with actual Scripture. I know Polis produced books like Hansel and Gretel, and Peter Rabbit in Koine Greek. If it bothers you, maybe you could construct something like that instead of basing the stories on Scripture. I definitely recommend praying about it and waiting on the LORD to guide you. God bless you!

I appreciate the hard work that you have done for us teaching Greek and Hebrew, now I see muuuch more value in your videos. I have a question, would you recommend studying the 2 languages at the same time? I don't if I should study both at he same time or I should start with Greek or Hebrew..
@AlphawithAngela
@AlphawithAngela Жыл бұрын
It all depends on how much time you have available and your determination. I studied Greek, Hebrew and Arabic all at the same time. They are different enough for you not to get mixed up between them. You will just need a lot of time and dedication and don't give up! All the best!

I didn't realize that about the different forms or stems of Greek vs Hebrew vs English, especially the "the". In this regard is Spanish closer to Hebrew or to Greek?
@AlphawithAngela
@AlphawithAngela Жыл бұрын
It's not quite like either. Spanish has 4 forms of "the." It's like Greek in that the article "the" changes depending on the gender and number of the noun, but it's also unlike Greek because there's no case system, so it doesn't change depending on the noun's function in the sentence, which is what makes the forms multiply so much in Greek.

@@AlphawithAngela it makes sense that ya'll would say it is the more difficult to learn and to teach of the two. Thank y'all for sharing this
@pierreabbat6157
@pierreabbat6157 Жыл бұрын
@@altonlg24 I think Hebrew is more difficult, for me, because all my native languages are Indo-European. Greek verbs go -ω -εις -ει -ομεν -ετε -ουσι, which is obviously related to Spanish -o -as -a -amos -áis -an, whereas Hebrew verbs have ten forms (inflecting for both person and gender), which don't resemble the IE forms. And a lot more English and Spanish vocabulary is cognate with (like numbers) or derived from (like "evangelio") Greek than from Hebrew. Of course, if I were Ethiopian, I'd find Hebrew easier.
