Why is there NO hearing accommodations in ANY doctor offices including hearing aid or audiologist offices? No cards, ASL, no light up reader boards NOTHING!!! If hearing and ears are your business what the heck? A person can’t hear their name in the waiting room when it’s called but they could see a light up kindle! Sheesh it’s a no brainer! Seriously!

Just came from an ENT and audiologist appointment, and although the ENT quickly adapted to how much hearing I lost and started speaking louder and looking at me when he talked, none of the staff did, and neither did the audiologist who determined I was in the severe to profound range. And no, there were no accommodations like the ones you mentioned.

Went to 3 audiologist and did 2 differents hearing test which showed that i had a slight loss but no needs of hearing aid. its hard to get used to it. i sleep with white noise and avoid going to concerts or any possible event that couldn't get exposed to load noise. i noticed that when i get flu or cold, it gets louder for that period.

Hi doc, I recently turned 28 years old, and I've never experienced any type of hearing problems until now. However, I'm not entirely sure what has caused this recent issue. Maybe sharing a brief story could shed some light. You see, I had a couple of assignments due recently, and with only three days left until the deadline, I resorted to my usual routine of staying awake after work to finish them. During this time, I was taking my prescribed dose of 30mg of Ritalin. As a result, I only managed to get around four hours of sleep each night before waking up and starting all over again. Now, on the last day of this assignment frenzy, something peculiar happened. Suddenly, all the sounds around me took on a robotic quality, accompanied by slight ear pressure. It was as if I could hear low-frequency vibrations in everything, from music and people's voices to the cars driving outside on the road. These vibrations seemed louder than the actual words or sounds they originated from. It was quite the surreal experience! Realizing that things weren't improving, I decided to see an ENT specialist three days later. The doctor prescribed a steroid to see if it would restore my hearing, and thankfully, it did the trick. However, as soon as I started weaning off the medication after a week, the robotic sounds returned with a vengeance. It's like they were determined to stage a comeback concert! Needless to say, I'm worried that this might become an ongoing issue, especially since it's affecting my ability to understand and engage in conversations with others. If any of this rings a bell for you (no pun intended), I would immensely appreciate your feedback. Help me bring an end to this bizarre auditory predicament! Thank you so much for your assistance

Noh man, i am looking to get back to at least 18kHz again. Also, here i have a question: Couple of years ago I found that earwax is one of the few antiseptic things that oozes out of a human body. Since then i am very gentle of cleaning my ears, I only scrape out the thick of it from the external canal. I do regularly wear earplugs, especially at bad sounding concerts and when i use particularly loud power tools with lots of high frequency noise. In terms of preventing ear infection, am i doing it right?

Usually once per day i lose more hearing and I can actually hear the loss of hearing but I can feel it too in my equilibrium. I want to get hearing aids but they will just amplify noises that are already too much for my hearing to handle. They will just make me further HOH. I'm a muscian and music sounds so shitty now. As far as I know, aging hearing capacity is pertaining to neurological loss of ability to recognize the fine differences of the similar sounds, more so than the volume of the sound. That’s why the current hearing aids are not very helpful. They are mostly using the microphone technology to amplify the sound. The audiologists are advertising the hearing aids because they have to make a living. They are “hearing aids brokers, that how I feel about them. Like other parts of the body, the ears are affected by the overall health of the body. They are intricately connected with all other organs so if you want your ears to function, you need to improve your health through diet, lifestyle, mental and emotional health. Frankly, I am tired of the advertising audiologists

You are giving public speech that too especially to viewers who have hearing problem. Try to explain the remedy in slow and detailed manner so as to enable the viewers to understand and remember what you say. Otherwise you wasting the viewers and viewers time. Cocktail becomes worthless and useless.

don't be so pessimistic! sometime in our lifetime?? unless you're 90 it will most likely happen in our lifetime. Also, you can't really predict the future, there might be some ultra-quick developments that have nothing to do with these trials you mentioned. I suggest you, since you're already focusing on hearing loss public that you actually provide something that can be useful and different from what people can find on the internet, and to mention the hearing aid as a solution is absolutely ludicrous, hearing aid does not solve anything, it just make you hear better, if so. Not quite sure why you mention dementia and all that stuff either, as in, is this going to help the person with a hearing loss in any way? Be relevant.

Wow! You REALLY need to watch more of my videos so you can educate yourself on the topic of hearing loss. Watch about 500 more before you come back and comment. 👍

@DrCliffAuD he's right hearing aids don't offer any help really....I wear the best hearing aids out there, and still I can't hear even though they are supposed to erase background noises...probably 10 more years till hearing aids offer full help and 200 years till there is a cure

I still can't smell or taste my food and I was hearing about a week ago on my left side I will wait for the virus to disappear and hope I will get some hearing backwill not get a hearing aid just in case my hearing comes back because I don't wanna damage my eardrums
