It's here. The unspeakable horror known as the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser (aka the Halcyon Starcruiser) is here to drain the wallets of Star Wars fans. But can this overpriced experience possibly live up to the price tag? (No.)

Thats true. When I saw this I was like " yeah its kinda cool" But compared to when I first saw Harry Potter land at Universal Studio I was like "Wow, that is SOOOO Cool! I want to try it!" It was a whole lot of different experienced. This Disney hotel felt "forced" and I can see it among the guest too....

For six grand this should be a personalized, single person or small group adventure that takes place in a private location over a week, instead of a hotel and theme park over a day and a half. I feel like you could give me two high school theater clubs, a decent budget, and a few months to set it up in a big warehouse, and we could make a much more authentic and fun star wars experience worth the six thousand dollar price tag.

It should’ve been built on a 9 story hotel, in which each level was customized and replicated to look like most popular setting of each film 1-9, in which all the saga fans could pick and choose, which world and characters you want to interact with? I’m absolutely sure that was pitched, until KK squashed it, knowing that just like Battlefront 2 and Galaxys Edge, absolutely NOBODY associates cares to play or interact in the sequel planets, star ships, bases, with the characters from those atrocious movies? I mean….NOBODY plays as Rey or Finn in BF2, which is why entire landfill sites are dedicated to their unsold merchandise? This had to be ANOTHER garbage sequel theme park, because anything else from George’s SW world, wouldve made her look foolish?

Disney tries to project an image that it's for "everyone"... but really, everything is so bland, generic and expensive that it really is for "no one". That thing where he gets interrupted in the middle of eating highlights one of the major problems I have with this. Who wants to go to a hotel to keep getting randomly pestered by actors pretending to be Star Wars people? They should have just made it Star Wars themed, sprinkled some Chewbacca's around for the kids to take photos with, made their weird "alien" food, put in the cool simulators, etc. The whole "roleplay" element is probably the thing that shoots the price of this through the roof, yet I cannot imagine many people actually enjoying it. LARPing isn't exactly popular, and this is a 2-days-long LARP that you cannot escape from.

That’s another thing - Disney does not excel at recreating “sets” or making things look like they do in movies. That’s usually a Universal parks specialty, so not only in this a lackluster experience, it also doesn’t even look like you’re in the Star Wars world come to life because it’s all just vaguely Star Wars. The Universal creative directors spend the entire year recreating sets from horror movies for HHNs so that the room from the Exorcist looks the same, parts of the Overlook from the Shining looks the same. Disney uses “inspirations” to produce their own things (like the guest rooms on this) and it’s always underwhelming compared to just rebuilding what exists from the movies.

Its not worthy of a 6000 price tag even to die hard cos player mega fans🤣. As I mentioned in another post on here we drove to Tennessee and spent around 1500 for 5 days and were able to experience a dinner show, go to the Ripley's aquarium, and a slew of other things for double the time at a 4th of the cost. Disney needs to understand $6,000 is months of food, rent or even a small second hand car!! @@CasperInkyMagoo Not one bit bitter.. it has absolutely no content I want to see and it is totally #notmystarwars (as others would say). If I am anything.. I am disgusted and disappointed in the content Disney has given us for years and like many others my patience and tolerance has worn very thin to the point I am on the verge of not caring any more about Star Wars because it has become utter trash with woke rot and meaningless characters!! Disney hit it with The Mandalorian but like all other forms of their Star Wars they dropped the ball and missed the mark with the Book of Boba Fett. It is a dismal time to be a Star Wars fan where the entire franchise hangs on a TV Series with new or side characters holding the franchise together while main characters have cameos!! Everything now lies on Disney doing the Obi Wan Series right but with their track record I can honestly say I do not really care that much any more!! Yes there is a few good moments here and there but they are so hit and miss it is becoming better to just miss it altogether and wait for the honest reviews!! My point above was to give some examples of how normal people can spend $6,000 USD that it can be months of food, or rent, a car, medical treatments, gaming computers, digital and electronic equipment or as others have said below.. a proper cruise that lasts longer and gives a far better experience!! Heck.. it does not even look like Star Wars and by all honest and unbiased accounts it seems very cheap for what is being asked to attend!! Disney are disconnected with their consumers (the fans who made Star Wars what it once was) and this whole expensive and out of place 1.5 day thing just goes to prove it but it's also another wedge Disney has put between the normal Star Wars consumer and Star Wars content that furthers the disconnect between the content producer and the content consumers!! As I said Disney is on its last chances with many of us and it we no longer care then we certainly will not pay for something we are not invested or interested in because it no longer meets our interests or needs as consumers or worse content is held beyond the reach of the consumer because of outrageous and overpriced paywalls!! Do not forget all of this content was intended to be given in the Disney Park but greed drove this to being where it is now!! Disney have proven with this whole thing they do not know Star Wars, they don't know their consumers and gosh it shows in the content we are seeing!! Consider this.. if Disney offered me a free pass to go and visit this luxury hotel and the paywall was removed I would not be inclined to want to go to it because I have no emotional ties or interests in the characters or this pathetic era of Star Wars Disney have corrupted, misused and abused with the meaningless and lackluster characters and woke politics.. I would pass!! There are other movies, characters or franchises that have earned far more meaning and respect from me that I would rather spend my money or time on!! Bitter.. not at all.. but sad, hurt, disgusted, disappointed and disconnected.. yes!! This is not my Star Wars and it is not what George Lucas gave us all and it was a very sad and bad day when he sold, in good faith, Star Wars to Disney who have done everything but what the man wanted with the continuation of Star Wars for everyone, new or old fans to have and enjoy!! I think the damage is done and we are now at the point nothing can save Star Wars!! We made Star Wars and without us it is nothing but an empty shell of what it once was!! A corrupted and misused shell that has been hollowed out by Disney as it became a platform to preach and promote woke rot that only appeals to a distinct few who never financially support the content they scream for and demand!!

None of this looks like Star Wars apart from some characters. It’s like taking Kylo Ren and slapping him into a futuristic looking hotel. Sure there are some worlds in Star Wars that aren’t all that “corporate”, for example they couldn’t make a event space that looks like a Death Star appearance and have it appeal to a corporate who wants colours and appealing visuals to a wide mass of people. Same reason why movies these days seem like they have to tick boxes to please a mass. On a holiday I don’t want to have a strict schedule either, which this place seems to have. I wanna be free to explore stuff and see things and enjoy food. For $6000 you can take your family to one of the most fancy hotels in the world in Vegas likely and meanwhile eat at the fancy food establishments. And have Star Wars music playing in your hotel room. That would feel more Star Wars than this. Anyway love your channel and love your videos, you’re awesome. 👍

For $6,000 I can get a full experience at a 5 star luxury hotel for a week, with services, swimming pools and hot tubs, and still have money to eat out at great restaurants. My wife would have beaten me silly if I blew $6,000 on a 2 day bunker. I’m also not a big role playing guy so I really could never get into something like this. I’m not surprised that this thing is being shut down.

Your cruise ship comparison was actually very apt. It's true that your standard cruise ship cabin isn't very roomy or impressive, it doesn't need to be. I've got an entire cruise ship that I can explore at my leisure. Additionally, most cruises are only going to be about half the price of this Disney trip. I can't wait to see footage of some spoiled rich kid or bored dad that is just paying for this trip to keep the kids quiet absolutely refusing to take part in the experience and ruining it for everyone. Disney could have set this up as a full day excursion for a couple extra hundred bucks a night and people would have eaten it up forever. This was just a terrible idea, a fantastic example of mission creep and overreach and a flat declaration that there are two three classes of people as far as Disney is concerned. The whales, the plebs who can barely afford to go to the park and aren't worth the attention anyway and everyone else.

Kevin, it depends on the ship. For $6k this should be a Viking or Regent ship, not a Carnival drunk cruise to Cancun. It isn't.

It's for 1%ers who don't know what else to do with their money. So they can go on their cocktail parties and be like "Yo, I've been to Star Trek land. The one for 6000 bucks entrance fee." - "And how was it?" - "Uhh... nice I guess. The kids had fun. Totally can recommend the Dom Perignon with Foie Gras."

We had a 10 day vacation including air fare , hotel outside of Paris and Prague and only spent $5,000. How can Disney justify this high cost for a dinner theater ? I agree that this will turn into a partial day experience and it could be a success but if you only have 4 story lines then how will you keep getting repeat customers ? I checked the booking schedule last night and there are a lot of openings. I think with a smaller group it would almost be boring. Just like in a n Escape Room you need lots of people to make it fun.

She used to be so nice but I guess she really guzzled the Twitter Kool Aid or something. Or maybe she was never really that nice; I do kinda get Queen Bee nerd girl vibes from her. You know the type? She was the most attractive geek girl in her circles through h.s. and college and probably had an army of dorks at her beck and call.

You guys all talk about the price, but what about people coming from abroad? Orlando have TRIPLED the price of car hire, flight prices have doubled and hotel/villa prices have sky-rocketed. How are foreigners going to afford to go? For 3 of us to fly from the UK for 3 weeks with car hire and villa is currently $16k!!!! With no park tickets or spending money!! How on earth can you justify another $6k?! To me, this is mostly geared to Americans, as most foreign travellers visit for an extended period, and just couldn't justify spending the additional money for 2 nights. It's such a rip-off. I'm with you. I give this 2 years tops.

For the same price as the two night stay you'd be better off going to some of the sights where they actually filmed the Movies. Hell you could fly to New Zealand and Dress as a Hobbit or a Ranger of Gondor; spend a month touring all the filming locations for Lord of the Rings. Even if you're not a big Tolkien fan it would still be a more memorable experience and a much more scenic vacation that some concrete bunker in Orlando.

Star Wars Hotel: 1. Fill the place with Star Wars characters FROM THE MOVIES. Don't create new characters and label them Star Wars. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out yet Disney failed to do that. Hire about 30 people to dress up as Star Wars and have them walk around a bit. Then have them go behind the curtains and change into other Star Wars characters and repeat the process. Simple. 2. Have a few animatronic characters like C3PO and Jabba the Hut. A. I'd make a large lounge and make it Jabba the Hut's quarters on the ship. Have the place looking similar to Jabba the Hut's place from Return of the Jedi. Have Jabba the Hut and a few others as animatronics and then have about 15 or so employees dressed as characters that walk around and mingle with the guests. Have a real bar and music. 3. Make the hotel feel like an actual ship with screens everywhere that show outer space with a lot of cool things going on. I see people making comments that the guest need to dress up. That's not going to work and I'm not sure why people would think it would.

I feel like they should have done a similar thing for the rooms as they did for the bridge. Like build a giant IMAX or whatever screen on each side of the building and everyone looking out their windows is looking at the same big screen. Likely way more expensive but I think it would have looked way better. This might not have been as easy to do while also making it an escape route for emergencies though.

God bless All Ears, but you're right, Vito - speaking for myself, I cannot afford this to begin with & even if I hit the lottery, there's no chance in Hell I'd do it twice. But I stick to my original prediction. You're too optimistic. I don't see this thing lasting a year before a massive retool to make it cheaper. A real - though SW themed - hotel w/ one or two Star Trek: The Experience style dark rides & a SW themed restaurant adjacent to the Galaxy's Edge. Disney's gonna have a massive drop off in reservations & go into panic mode in 6 months, tops.

It looks neat, it's just overpriced and was clumsily overhyped to Star Wars die-hards. Once they service the whales, I suspect they will drop the price, and I'd assume they planned to do so eventually. If they priced it at a flat $3000 per standard cabin for any number of guests up to five they'd probably be booked into the next century. Also be aware, TimTracker attended a one-day press preview that was compressed and rushed and out of order. The actors use an earpiece for prompts and cues and specific guest-plot information from a stage manager and that will smooth out with experience.

I’ve seen Star Wars LARPS that are leagues better than the Star Cruiser. The acting is stellar, everyone is in character not just the employees, and people are all dressed up. That’s the experience I want. It seems like a better experience overall, even if food isn’t included and you don’t get overnight accommodations. Now if Disney understood Star Wars in the same way as those LARP organizers do then this experience would be amazing. But as it stands, the Galactic starcruiser is just overpriced corporate Disney bs
