1967 and 1970 red SS396 Chevelles found hiding in the weeds for many years. Both cars are very repairable and are equipped with black bucket seat interior and manual transmission with center console.

Someone should take pictures of different angles of these cars for posters or calendars. They are yard art at this point. Both cars being base model SS Chevelles. The restoration would far exceed the value when completely done. It would just be a labor of love. Not a investment! I'm sure they will need one of everything and two of most. Life happened and I wound up with both cars ( wife with kids his wife said car had to go ) we street raced both cars. Then bam. Woke up one day. Wife kids and life lol. Man wish I had just one of them back. Or my 66 396 4 spd bench seat impala. I guess I'll just have to happy with my lil 68 big block nova. Lol. Love your vids. Last summer I ran across a 71 Buick gsx sitting in a pasture. Up on blocks and still very savable. The owner let me look at it, still had the stage 1 455 . No power brakes, no ac, dual snorkle air cleaner intact. Rodents had taken care of most of the interior but floors trunk n quarters were solid, traces of rust starting around the rear window. Yellow with black stripes and a spoiler. Although paint was almost completely chalked out, weathered down to the sealer. I offered him what I thought was a premium price and he said , " not for sale, I'm gonna fix it up soon. RIGHT....he lived in a house that needed major attention, garage had fallen down years ago..and he drives a barely functioning mid 90's Ford pickup. Drives me crazy knowing it will only be enjoyed by the cattle around it till it rusts into the ground

Patrick, I completely understand what you're doing and I thank you for it. To everyone commenting out there: Don't attack these people for doing stuff like this to wonderful pieces of pure Americana. The best way to get them to sell (or better protect what they have) is to be polite and thoughtful with your comments. We have all seen or know about cars near us in similar situations. At least this person let Patrick do this video. I know of a few cars in Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa in similar circumstances that the owner won't even let you get close to them, or even talk to you about them. Many are truly yard art at this point. This pair that Patrick has shared with us look like they can be saved, even if it's just a ratty unrestored muscle car you can drive around. In five to ten years however, they won't be. If someone knows the owner, maybe you could talk him into selling one to help finance the start on the other?

Such a shame that people would not only let these cars rot away, but claim they're going to "rebuild it soon". If they haven't been working on it over the last 20 years, once they became certified classics and collectible, they're not going to start. These cars are a part of American history that we will never see again. You can't wrestle it out from the owner but there's always an "it's not for sale" price. Once you've tried negotiating reasonably and they hear none of it, the "it ain't for sale" price will tell you if they're really going to work on it or not. But I'm a firm believer in never giving up. Someone who is serious about buying these cars should just have a little patience and work easily with the owner. Stuff like this can be worked out over time, usually once the owner realizes he's really never going to get it running and he has an opportunity for some cash in his hand.

Cool video man, I have always liked and wanted to own a 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS. To find one in good shape they are to me a a little expensive. I found one that been sitting since 2011 and it was in need of a paint job and a little interior work. The asking price was Dirt Cheap so I bought it. And I'm glad I did because you only get to live once and if owning a classic mobile car is your dream you should go for it I know for an older model car like the Chevelle it will cost a pretty penny to restore them. To get them back to driver Quality Cars would probably be around $50,000 give or take but I would really like to see these cars back on the road again I like all Chevrolet muscle cars from the 60s and 70s

It's a shame what happened to these classic cars Good luck with getting these cars out of this mess. They all say they will restore them soon, but it never will happen. The 70' is really rotted bad. I have my 69' Le Mans blue Chevelle SS 396.... 47 years this November 2019. It is sitting in a heated garage for maybe close to 4 years covered in dust. Been working on my house all the time. No time for the Chevelle right now , but soon, so I know how " restoring them soon will work out for these cars. Good luck with that!! At least my Chevelle is in a heated garage in my house, dusty and I need to rebuild the 3 carbs on the tri power set up I put on maybe in the year1974. My Chevelle is an L-34. When I bought it in Nov.1972 it was all origional. I kept the origional intake, cast iron exhaust manifolds, smog pump. So it could be restored to it's origional build if a Black vinyl roof was put on. Now it is all Le Mans blue, black sport stripe on l an r sides of the car. Red line tires on Chevelle SS factory wheels, low in the back.

I knew a guy in Wadley, Ga & he wouldn't let the car go, because, he thought my brothers & I would put big wheels on it. Our intentions were to restore the car back to factory original as much as possible with our Vietnam War Veteran father. It was an original 396 SS car, red with black stripes. He sold the car for scrap about a year later. I felt like roughing him up for it, but, that's never the right thing to do. I hope, whoever got their hands on it did it the justice it deserved.
