Part 2 of my walk yesterday ends with a walk around the VP's house, the Clinton's Washington home, and the woods near Georgetown. Just chilling. Nothing too exciting.

@6:20 It's the Apostolic Nunciature of the Holy See. The word "See" in this application is derived from the Latin word "sedes", meaning "seat" in English. It refers to the episcopal chair occupied by a bishop and the area over which he has responsibility. In this case, the United States of America, its Territories, and other possessions. Your hike through Rock Creek Park was beautiful, most of what you showed us sure looks like a near-wilderness in an urban setting.

Very beautiful nice lush trail here. I enjoy seeing these kinds of walking and bike trails of DC alongside the colonial buildings going back 300 years with stone walls along trails. All of This brings a nice mystical colonial vibe to DC here.

What was done with dropping stick in stream on one side of bridge and then going to other side of bridge to see if stick in stream comes out is something i done quite often when I was a little child out at a farm i and us siblings were raised at that had a stream on property. The part of road on our farm property went over stream with a big round colvert just below this road that stream flowed through. During my childhood here, at times I would go play in stream sometimes by myself and sometimes with siblings and would on one side of road drop sticks on one side of road into stream that flowed into colvert and run to other side of road to see whether or not stick, leaf, object would come out on other side. Sometimes object i dropped would and sometimes it wouldn't. As an autistic child, I would stim and wiggle over the object that came out on other end watching object continually flow with water until it was out of sight. This dropping of stick here brings back those wonderful childhood memories.

8:17, sorry to be a nit-picker P6 (British Army Vet here), but the flag of the United Kingdom is the "Union Flag", its only referred to as the "Union Jack" when flown from the Jack Staff (a fancy term for a small flag pole) of the bow a Royal Navy vessel.

Some trivia to share: The official title of the Vatican's embassy is the Apostolic Nunciature of the Holy See. The pope's representative is called the Papal Nuncio, not the Ambassador. That's because we now have official diplomatic relations with Vatican City, a sovereign state on a par with all sovereign states in the world. Before we had official diplomatic relations with Vatican City, the pope's main representative was called the Apostolic Delegate and the name of the official residence/building was the Papal Legation. In officially Catholic countries, the Papal Nuncio is usually the dean of the diplomatic corps. In this country, the dean of the diplomatic corps is the longest-serving ambassador regardless of the country s/he represents. For a lot of years, that was the ambassador of the USSR, Anatoly Dobrinyn. More trivia: he was a helpful back-channel during the October 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

Such a lovely, peaceful walk in the woods. Guessing it is quite cool in the summer with all that shade. How can people afford the price of those houses & condos? They look beautiful, but too, too much for most people. How many office clerks could afford them? Seriously.

This is such a lovely walk. When I lived in Virginia for a summer and worked in DC, I loved the forest and wish I had gone out in it more often. I saw my first fireflies there

The phone Box, not booth, is not exclusive to London. It was seen all over the entire country. In the town of Kingston upon Hull they are pointed a creamy white as that town has its own telephone company.

That walk on the trail always creeps me out. Too many sordid, unsolved and/or sus happenings in the past. My hair stands on end when you travail the pathway. Better when it's not near dark.

When you visit the Air & Space after it opens up would you be kind enough to see if they have a Navy A-4 Skyhawk? It was a real work horse of the Vietnam war. (John McCain got shot down in one) I was an Aviation Electrician's Mate on the USS Shanghai-la and this airplane holds a special place for me. Love your channel, thanks.

You’re right Penguinsix. The British residence was indeed the British embassy. It was so nice, efficient and secure. The modern British embassy, I agree, is ugly, not inviting.

Went to DC on a class trip in 1975. To the National Cathedral, cripts, and other places obviously in town. Stoled airplane bottles of jack daniels from home thinking I could at least get my finger wet with Colleen. She was hot. Well, it didn't happen. Chaperones were all over us. Should have brought vodka instead because they sniffed it out! First stop our 8th grade trip bus stopped at was a place that had deep fried eggs in oil like french fries. Never seen anything like it. Never to this day, Probably first time I had to say no thank you to food. Robert KKK Byrd was to meet us, but we had to settle for Moniham. Looking back I guess we got lucky. Because that was Biden's protege. She was all nice and sat nearby with me on the way back home because of chaperones and we dated later. TRUTH! God bless America 🇺🇲!
