THE ABC'S OF SALVATION
A = Admit you are a sinner and you can’t be perfect and holy enough in God’s eyes to be right with Him on your own. Turn away from your sin.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Rom. 3:23
B = Believe that Jesus (God in the flesh) died on your behalf to pay the price for your sin and to give you a way to be right with God - to be forgiven. He lived the perfect life you couldn’t live. He died the death you deserve and rose from the dead in victory over sin, death, and the grave on your behalf!
“The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus, our Lord.” Rom. 6:23
C = Confess that Jesus is your Lord - this means, Jesus is now your Master and you live your life for Him and His glory rather than for yourself. You say it out loud to others and you live it from now on. You lay down your will and your desires and follow Him, inviting Him to direct and use your life for His will.
“If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.” Rom. 10:9-10

I enjoy the skits (and girl, the new curtains ❤️!) I wonder why it is so easy to get caught up in the whole “God wants us to be happy” thing. Maybe because life is so short?

Thank you! :) I think our sinful nature LOVES the idea of momentary happiness and hates delayed gratification. Toddlers are the exact same way. But the goal is that we are to be more mature than toddlers so that we can help them learn to accept delayed gratification and focus on what is ultimately the best for them instead of just what feels good in the moment. God does want to bless us. But blessing us and us feeling totally happy every moment are not the same thing. God wants our greatest blessings in light of eternity. Not right this second. We are impatient by our sinful nature. But as we allow the Holy Spirit to be in charge, we can patiently wait for the blessings the Lord has promised and we can even rejoice in trials, as James 1:2-4 says, because we know He will use these things to help us become more like Jesus and to bless us and the kingdom in the end. Much love!

I don't think that you were saying this, but it might also get lost for someone who is new to faith: Life isn't all about "the hard things", being disciplined or JUST about our holiness. There is balance between being disciplined and spiritually-focused and enjoying the great things that God has put in your life. An abundant life in Christ has joy, laughter, and pleasures that don't even cost money, like enjoying the sunset or being around loved ones. This is in addition to all of the things that we have to do as mature, responsible adults and our spiritual growth and development in Christ. There is a long distance between solely chasing pleasure and enjoying your life/taking time to just BE rather than DO. The tension between earth and heaven, discipline and fun, the present and the future, suffering and excitement is where we can really seek God because it isn't easy to navigate and balance everything. That tension doesn't have easy, one-size-fits-all answers. Those areas where we need guidance to do what is pleasing to God in our lives in that season only draws us closer to God rather than just following "rules." I think those areas without clear answers are reminders that we need to ask God for guidance and stay close enough to hear his voice.

Yes, balance!!!! That is tricky. And not a formula. Or one-size fits all kind of thing. I love what you wrote. Thank you so much for sharing.

Hello! I recently found your channel, and I am Christian. I am sorry this does not completely correlate with your video, but I wanted to ask about my feelings on something. I saw that we should always put god first, even before our parents and loved ones. Would it be wrong of me, to love god in all the way I can but also love another with all my heart? I still put god first, his rules, his love, and I love him with everything. I love god differently than I do others, I love him fully and respectingly, I am endlessly grateful for my life and all he has blessed me with. I am very fortunate. But I also would love a spouse with everything, but in a different way. I will still put god first, and obey him by loving the people around me. but I would love god and a spouse all that I can. So I don’t know if I am loving god more. I hope this is OK. Just a big question in my life. Thank you very much! 😃 With all that being said, I love the different shots in the video! brilliantly put together.

Hey! This is a great question. I actually have a blog post about it, but right now my blogs are down because they were hacked. But the issue is that we are to love God much more than anyone or anything else. And it is only when we truly love Him the most and put Him first and are filled with His Spirit that we truly can love others properly in healthy, godly ways. The two greatest commandments are: 1. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. 2. Love others as yourself. Where we get into trouble is if we want to please people more than we want to please God. Or if we idolize people and look for our contentment, fulfillment, purpose, security, and identity in people instead of in Jesus. Or if we are willing to sin in order to be in a relationship or to make a person happy and we choose to elevate the person over the Lordship of Christ. Does that make sense? Much love in Christ!

@@AprilCassidy Thank you so much! I am very sorry your blog was hacked, I hope you can get it back! 😓I will always put god first and follow his word. I will love him and everyone around me with all my heart, mind and soul, however, he will always come first! Thank you so much, hopefully i’ve made a right decision! I will look to please god first :) No promises because I am human, but I will pray he will guide me through hard times 😄

Some signs we are looking to people as idols: 1. We want them more than we want God. 2. We feel resentful toward God or the person if the person doesn't do what we want. 3. We feel we can't live without the person. 4. We are willing to do anything to be with that person, including sex outside of marriage, lie, steal, cheat, or compromise God's truth. 5. We are obsessed with the person and the main reason we want a relationship with God is so God will give us the person we want, not so we can love and know God. 6. We feel depressed, lonely, and anxious without the person. 7. We are codependent and enmeshed with the person. 8. We expect the other person to meet our emotional needs. 9. We think marriage will make us happy, or being with that person will make us happy, and that we will never feel lonely, unloved, upset, or sad again if only we can be with that person. 10. We think we can change the guy to make him what we want him to be. 11. We try to control our guy or let him control us. 12. We have a lot of unbiblical and unrealistic expectations about the guy, the relationship, or marriage. 13. We don't take personal responsibility for ourselves spiritually but expect our guy to do our spiritual growing for us. 14. We act or feel entitled to have that person and are not willing to lay that person down and that dream down before God. 15. We withhold that relationship from God and want to control it ourselves without God's "interference." 16. We get with a guy who doesn't love the Lord with all his heart but think it doesn't matter because we love him. Maybe this will help. Much love! April

Women tend to choose one of two extremes. To be completely selfish like you showed in this skit or giving all their time to family in an excessive suffocating way, trying to control everything that happens in the house. Those women are usually angry and bitter. None of this is healthy. Normal is to have a balance of those things.

Yes! I was the wife who was controlling and suffocating my family. And very bitter. I thought it was my job to make things happen correctly and to be the Holy Spirit. Not healthy for my relationships or myself. So thankful God opened my eyes! Thank you for sharing. Being Christlike is always a balance between unhealthy extremes, it seems. Much love!

Sadly, when the "law of attraction" first became popular, I fell for the deception and utterly abandoned my mothering role pursuing "happiness." I have regretted so many choices made during that time before I became a Christian. I didn't realize the "law of attraction" was really "the law of the harvest" as the Bible explains it EXCEPT they removed the context, guidance, and warnings and taught a simplistic "happiness" teaching that leads to the same faulty conclusions that your skit gave examples of. Christ did come to give us life, and life more abundantly and that should have us in a state of gratitude/happiness much of the time. But life has seasons and some seasons are harder than others.

Christian One - Praise God that you see so much more clearly now! That is wonderful. Our old human nature loves the idea of focusing on self and momentary happiness. Hedonism can be very attractive at first. But it leads to such misery and heartbreak. Yes, God created the law of the harvest. Sometimes we won't experience all of the blessings of obeying God until heaven, but in the end, walking in obedience to the Lord is the place where we will find true contentment, joy, peace, fulfillment, and eternal rewards that far outweigh any momentary suffering or momentary happiness we may experience in this world. And when we have the Holy Spirit in control, we can have His love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control even now. Even in difficult times, as we trust Him to lead us. Thanks so much for sharing!
