Hey explorers! Cheers goes out the The Frightened Explorer- / @thefrightenedexplorer...
as this is a location he has explored previously and on this day we both we t back to document it.
The loving home of a little old lady who was married and was a Grandmother. Her husband passed away and she continued to live here in her humble abode til about the year 2000 it seems when she passed away or perhaps went in to care.
Many of her personal items still remain and precious photos depict a happy family but it seems though for what ever reason these belonging were left here to stay with the home........
A link below for The Frightened Explorers original explore video shows that the home was a bit more tidy and things not moved around or messed up as in this documentation.
A time capsule of a loving Lady who obviously loved her cottage and live here as long as he could.
Hope you all enjoy. TFE`s original and follow videos below-

🌟Oh my what a beautiful home full of the beautiful lady’s memerories, im feeling a little emotional reminds me of my god mothers and grandparents homes. I remember those old patterns mum had alot of those too. It really upsets me to see family memories litered all over the place why cant people just look? Instead they have to ransack everything. Beautiful wedding photos. So glad you got to document the home and that it is in very good condition. Thank you so much again 🌟❤️😊x

My grandparents home was very modern so I didn't experience a lot of eras. I did however have parents who LOVE antiques so this is where my passion for them came from. Hey, Paul! 👋👋 I've been missing your videos. I had got a bit behind watching, but things are getting back to normal for me. So, my brain reverted today to thinking, "Oh good - it's Urbex Indigo's day!" And then I realized I hadn't been receiving notifications in a while. Maybe YT thought I wasn't interested any more? No idea if that's a thing, but I'm back to receiving all notifications again! This was such a sweet house! There was a lot of love and happiness there - you can feel it even just watching. It must have been a very strong feeling in person! You sounded so nostalgic and so wistful when you spoke about it reminding you of your grandparents' houses and your old bedroom at home. It was clear that this one touched you. It's in amazingly good condition, considering how long it's been unoccupied. I'm concerned, though, that it won't be for long since it looked like there were now some broken windows letting the elements in which is the death knell. 😢 It's too bad whoever the owner is doesn't look in on it, fix the broken glass, put new locks on and secure the photos and paperwork left behind. Lastly, since I've not been watching, I don't know if this is just a "sometimes" thing or if you've teamed up with The Frightened Explorer, but I'm glad you're not out in these desolate places alone. It used to worry me! So glad to be back!

It makes you wonder if the house was initially cleaned out by family, friends or some charity with regards to the things left behind. It’s unusual that the house hasn’t been sold off unless the land it’s on is part of a larger parcel that’s still in the family as a farm. The house had its last makeover in the early 1970’s judging by the lampshades, though the shower cubicle is more 1980’s. Great explore & walkthru, I would have been nervous going thru all that grass in this heat due to snakes.

Hi Timareskog2418 :-) The property was sold after 2000 so it seems who ever purchased it has just purchased for investment or it came with a larger parcel of farmland when sold. Family may have somehow not seen the photos stashed away in a cupboard somewhere or perhaps they were left in the home as a memorial. Cheers for watching :-)

A lovely explore, I've just watched both videos on Frightened Explorer's channel. That moth was the size of a small bird here in Ireland! The ceilings are so high in this house too. I'd love to see those photos saved and given to someone who'll look after them - they are ancestral and irreplaceable. Wouldn't take much work to make that little house liveable again. Seems in good condition considering it's been abandoned for over 20 years.

What a lovely explore Paul 😊 Even though idiots have obviously been in and 'rummaged around' I get a nice vibe from this home. As I've mentioned here before - my parents seriously considered emigrating to Australia in the mid 1970's but for whatever reason never made the move. Well, after watching this video - the next time I have to pull my stab vest on (joking!) and drive into my native North London to visit my parents, I am seriously going to ask Dad why he never made the big move down under 😁 Hoping the summer heat isn't too bad there, and of course thanks as always for a great upload 😊

Always makes me sad to see old photos and furniture etc, still in good nick not taken care of by relatives. Also that lovely old home could very easily be cleaned up and rented out or sold. We are all aware of the housing crisis, these livable homes should be used and loved again by someone who would love a roof over their heads! Absolutely loved the explore, the tongue and groove interior is amazing and the entire house is in really good nick! My husband passed away in 2012 and he never had a bank card to use at ATMs, he had a bank book and did all his transactions there. I am not sure if bank books are even used any more. Almost forgot, really loved the kitchen, especially the old wood burning stove. The cupboards need removing and something more cottagey put in, also loved the fireplaces in the other rooms. Personally, if l had the money l would love to buy and get rid of the fake brick facade, and bring the home back to her original beauty and charm! 🦘😧😟🙂🤗

@@edwinthompson6510 How wonderful! People who went through the Great Depression learned what it was like to truly have nothing and to not even know when or if they'd be eating again soon. They learned the value of saving so that even when things normalized, they and their family would never have to worry like that again. My grandparents did the same, but they were boring - they used banks and investment accounts. 😂

What a sweet little house. Looks like it was well loved by someone in its lifetime. Love all the ORIGIONAL paint colours on the walls. And the incredible sideboard in that front room. My grand ma who raised me had a wardrobe and dressing table like the one in the ladies bedroom. I think it still looks amazing. Such a shame it's all just been forgotten about. The font room lounge suite is cool too. The left behind old photos of the weddings and things is what hurts me. I have my grandparents and great grand parents wedding photos. After they all died noone wanted them. But I did and I saved the lot of them. They are hanging up in the main hall of my house. And my 2 sons love asking about the photos. I tell them as much as I can. I hope that one of them will look after them when I'm gone.

There are so many memories of presence & of someone's beautiful story 'of being' in that sweet old home of yesterday (I know that nice old musty smell you speak of) - a vintage aroma of nostalgia like at my great grandmothers, grandmas and aunties houses -. I felt 'shivers' (in a nice gentle way) from it's energy & quitely sad 🙏 Tears - seeing all the memories (the beautiful wedding photo) , books, the 1953 newspaper (wow)! a will, the old bank account book & yes those old patterns my mum & granny had those too 💕& even the beautiful handmade crotched / material coat hangers in the wardrobe. The beds at my grand parents had those rusty old spring matresses too & wood panels on the walls. The moth was a lovely sign to see of transformation. I imagine you may already have a name of the person those memories belong to with the 'bank account book' & 'the will" - so heart breaking to see them all scattered (I know that it may not be possible to trace the owners story due to privacy & other circumstances & around legality of course). I hope & pray one day the memories find their way home to someone who will treasure them and the memories - somewhere out there. Thank you for sharing Paul and it's so lovely you and The Frigtened Explorer share your channel journeys 💕

Happy New Year Paul. What a great start to 2023, walking through an original farm cottage, with very little updates since the 1970s. It appears the cottage had a renovation during the Art Deco period, due to the two different styles of internal doors seen in the footage. The photographs left behind no doubt have a story to tell. Also, there are some lovely original Art Deco furniture, providing a reminder of the yesteryears. Thanks again for a lovely explore.

I would feel compelled to put the photos back in the albums. The albums back in the cupboard. I’d want to restage the rooms by making it look like I thought she had it. It’s so sad that her beautiful old pix and furniture are just left to rot. Isn’t there a museum or somewhere you could take them to be conserved for future people to see and marvel at? The old amber light fixture in the lean-to bedroom and the turquoise one in the hallway entryway. I wish there was a way those things could be preserved for future generations to see. I wouldn’t be interested in them being sold for anyone to profit on. But just cared for. Like that gorgeous old sewing machine in your intro. And those old newspapers heralding Queen Elizabeth’s coronation, especially since she just died. I wouldn’t ever want to steal and keep anything found on an exploration. Just put into a situation where they’re cared for and loved. Have you ever thought of starting something like that?

Hi Pamela, I hear what you are saying and there have be a couple of homes in Adelaide that were in the process of demolition where I did save photos and old documents. One lot has been returned to relatives and one I am still trying. @@urbexindigo5164 I think he was hiding from me ,he was clearly alive, standing upright , just behind a door frame, I was only able to see the bottom of one leg and part of his shoe, and he was completely silent and motionless and didn’t alert me to his presence by calling out or saying hey even though he must have heard me moving through the house. I’m quite sure he wasn’t aware I caught a glimpse of him, I said nothing and I just turned and exited as quickly as possible, without running or giving away my fear, I felt like prey and felt if I panicked and ran it would alert him and he might chase me. It was a good wake up call for me, I don’t explore anymore, I just watch your videos from the comfort and safety of home.

@@ktt8237 wow yes sounds like he wanted to remain undetected. Probably a squatter unsure of your intentions. Best to be safe than sorry. I have bumped in to squatters before and luckily all have been civil and friendly encounters. But on a few occasions it has been me who has had to find a hiding spot as workmen, police and other people have turned up on a few explores! haha 🙂

13:46 It’s fascinating when you come upon old photos, especially ones like these that look they were just left there..suddenly. like something happened that made the people just get up n go… or so many other reasons why they were just left there. makes u think about people and their history and what happened to them.

Looking at the photos left behind she left a will and had children and or grandchildren. But no one could be bothered cleaning out the home.

Hi Paul This is a cute little house and it is suitable for a little old lady. At least her family must have come in and took all of her clothes out. It’s a shame that they left the wedding pics. I thought that the woman who lived there was in one of those pics. There was an older bride among those pics that could have been her. The husband must have died first. Nice work Paul. I am curious about something. Why don’t you guys want to show your faces on camera? When the frightened explorer came out of the house you only showed his lower half? Stay safe and well.

The lack of concern for people's belongings sucks, those who do that are on every continent, but at least there's no graffiti, no large scale vandalism, and that's a plus...

I wouldn’t have been able to leave the photos on the floor. I would be a dreadful explorer. I’d be packing all that paper work and photos away.

The fake brick was very popular in the 1970s. Brick veneer homes were considered superior to weatherboard so many weatherboard home owners got this brick looking cladding applied to appear like brick veneer. The fake brick cladding did not stand the test of time and many homes would've stayed nicer in the original weatherboard.
