my NP put me on Nurtec (1 every other day) and at least I can stop them from progressing and halt them altogether. I don't know if the Nurtec has to build up in your system like with other meds. I get aura with or without abdominal, but never classic. I'm headed towards 50, so yeah there's no outgrowing this for me, but I can live life with the Nurtec at least.

Hi there would it be fair to say that with all the other possible conditions you don’t get an aura or warning signs before the migraine such as lack of concentration and sensitivity to noise and light? Surely if you are suffering from these then it’s definitely abdominal migraines?

i have been getting stomach/abdominal migraines since i was 5 years old. i would end in the childrens hospital roughly every 3 months. i am now 34 and still get them maybe not as often and slightly different compared to when i was younger. i use to vomit alot of blood as kid, now its not so much. usually i feel nausia, really bad stabbing pains, dizziness, weak, sometimes a sort disorentation…my mums, dads mum my great grandmother use to get them aswell. no one else in the family gets them. at times i might have an attack but not last that long with a shower or relaxing helpsnget rid of it, sometimes once it comes on, its to late and i need hospital treatment. it has effected alot of jobs i have had. i usually start a job, that can an episode end in hospital for roughly 3 days. sometimes longer than get let go. i have always taken sandomigran tablets last year a gastro speciliast started me on amitryptline. since than my attacks havent been as often..so far
