This is another fabulous group from the 50's-60's. This was the time of classy romantic heartfelt songs. Sadly they don't make music like this anymore. They had so many great hits such as "Only You", "Enchanted", "(You've Got) The Magic Touch", "My Prayer", "Twilight Time", "Harbor Lights", "You'll Never Know" etc.

Ahhhh...the great Tony Williams. No one had a voice that could touch him. He had both power and control and used both in this one. This song is originally from the 20's, but The Platters' version is probably the best known because it went to Number One on the Billboard charts. And people wonder why we had a baby boom in this era lol.

Congratulations on the no more smoking. One of my brothers had COPD and emphysema. He passed away last year. He was only 62. He smoked with the nicotine patches. Every time he'd be in the hospital for a week or more and the second we'd get in the car to leave he'd have a cigarette lit before we left the parking lot. Please stick with whatever it is that's helping you not smoke. Your life is worth so much more than a cigarette.

An unknown fact about the Platters . In early 1960 Zola Taylor left the Platters for 2 reasons. First the old standard was fading out to the new Pop sound led by the Beatles & secondly in late 1959 Tony Williams the lead singer along with the 3 other men were convicted of sex charges in Cincinnati Ohio. But in their defense it was easy enough to get a conviction of an African American with the right jury. Ohio IS & Will Always be a Racist Republican State although Ohio deny's that. That's my opinion of Ohio & I think a valid one. That from a white conservative.

My parents had this album on vinyl. I have heard this song many times in my youth. We kind of had a mixed upbringing I guess you could say. Most of the music we listened to was probably 80% country gold. 15% Elvis. The other 5% was CCR, groups like this, a little R&B, a little folk.

One of the most beautiful love songs ever, used to great effect in the 1990 film "Always". If you like the song or Richard Dreyfuss or John Goodman or Holly Hunter, here's the 4 minute scene with the song... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/edSWh6aptr7Xj40.html I highly recommend this movie to anyone & everyone. It's a love story that'll rip your heart out, a comedy that will make you laugh out loud & being about smoke jumpers there are action scenes that will keep you on the edge of your seat. And it will stay with you forever. That's how good it is. 💙🌿💙🌿💙🌿💙🌿💙🌿💙
