I love how the grandkids are on different scales of Spanish bilingualism, I remember Jasleiney’s “tengo sed” with a bad accent, Michi not understanding the lyrics fully when Abuela was singing to her in quarantine and Laritza’s good Spanish when she said “you forgot someone” to Abuela, the correct conjugation of the verb. The character writing & development is so precise and well crafted!

i know they're not real, but every time i see the bloopers, it always smacks me in the face that these are characters. they feel like fully fleshed out people and they're all so different from each other. i lived in miami for 20 years; i definitely have met and knew these people. it's so wild. love the videos! please keep them coming

I just realized a major reason why I love these videos: Because, being born later than all my first cousins, I never got to *really* know my older aunts & uncles and my grandparents, much less my cousins, plus the fact that everyone (my mom's side) moved away from each other to a degree. Thanks so much for filling me in on what I missed.

My parents emigrated to Spain in 88 and 89, so I didn't grow up with my family nearby... In the last years, with technology, I am getting a bit of this: the gossip with the aunts and grandma, frequent updates on my cousin's kids... I think you nailed it: these videos help us fill in those gaps!!

I think that a possible hilarious reference joke to this video is maybe making Kevin's birthday as the winning number but no one really played it to find out. Well, that might contradict Mirta, as I can easily see her playing such numbers so never mind. Lol

We wanted to include Kevin winning the lotto as a post credit button, but didn’t want to set him up as being rich going forward. I think making the numbers his birthday would’ve been a really funny solution.

@@KevinBosch I get you, but to be fair I also get that it would be hard to explain him winning the money... so in my case it was coming more from the area of Kevin not really caring for such things (like Gloria is supposed to be here of not believing in gambling, lol) and Mirta could have point it out later as her trying to play all the numbers but not having enough money by herself to buy all the tickets....and it was right there..."era el día de su comunion" or something like that. Anyway, I still love it. Really funny indeed.

My alternate ending would be: you see all of them being disappointed (like in this video) and then you hear a vase break super loudly. Everybody stops, and surprisingly look at the blonde sister. Embarrassed, she quietly says "the vase fell" and then slowly hides the ticket.

Seriously though, shout out to Doral for being a modern city upon a hill, a shining example of hope, of how to accept and integrate immigrants into American society, without stomping out every bit of the culture they come from.
