Fun Fact : Never mentioned but Ace is the name of Roger's sword. It's only brought up in the visual dictionary which is side info not talked about in the actual content. (It was funny in the other reaction when you saw the criminal"s" and almost caught it. It's rare anyone questions the plural. you were right there though, so close 😁)

Just a note about the "criminals" line-- Japanese words don't have a singular/plural distinction so it really can be translated as either "criminal" or "criminals", so you've probably seen subs with both translations. It's one of the things that makes translating Japanese into English so difficult, but it's also one of the ways manga artists can keep things vague and mysterious for the readers.

They are just speculating that Ace is such a strong pirate because of his bloodline. Also if you rewatch the reveal of Dragon, Garp reveals his name as Monkey D. Dragon. "Does Ace have a child?" I think that is one theory that is still up in the air and still remained unanswered up until now. No one will know for sure but one can assume for now that Ace doesn't have a child. I said for now since there are several theories as well and we don't know what Ace has been doing before the beginning of the series, 3 years before Luffy left his hometown. What we do know is that there's a side story that is currently in the works where the mangaka of Dr. Stone will do that artwork for the manga and we might get some info as to what Ace has been doing before he and Luffy had their reunion back in Alabasta Arc.

I think that the Japanese naming convention of giving the family name first, then the middle name/initial and finally your given name confuses things a lot for us westerners. (I know I personally was confused as to what Luffy's true name was back when One Piece was first introduced in the US.) But I don't think that it was ever really supposed to be a secret that Luffy and Ace were not biologically related. After all, we have been told that they are from different families by virtue of their names going all the way back to Alabasta. It's only Ace's relation to Gol D. Roger that was supposed to be a big reveal here.
