So here is my first acrylic pouring video showing the bloom technique, and more importantly, my first (of many) showing the amazing small batch, hand mixed paints created by Christina Welch - Pourage Posse Paints. I briefly go over the recipe I use to create blooms and show you how perfectly Pourage Posse Paints work with the bloom technique.
If you want to try Pourage Posse Paints, give Christina an email: christinawelchart@yahoo.com (preferred method)
Or you can find Pourage Posse Paints here: www.etsy.com/shop/ChristinaWe...
For more detail on the bloom technique, check out the following INSPIRING youtube artists:
- Jenn Neil: • 91. Acrylic Pour Bloom...
- Tammy Anderson: • The Bloom Technique Fu...
- Erica Hughes: • Bloom Technique FULL T...
- Saskia Smit: • #138 FLUID PAINT BLOOM...
- Kanella Ciraco: • #131 - Shelee Art Bloo...
- Karen Durishin/Waterfall Acrylics: • #183. BEGINNERS-How t...
- Molten Girl Studios: • Northern Lightning Acr...
I learned the bloom technique by experimenting after taking an online course offered by Shelee Carruthers.

Beautiful! I took the course too! Don’t listen to critical people...just bullies. We are all experimenting. For goodness sake, this has been done by me and others a lot longer ago than 2 years. Shelee has a unique process and USA does not have the same chemistry in the products needed..... Bless you and all the artists trying to recreate similar designs/processes for the Joy and Bliss we find💕

Jenny, I am glad you are sharing. Shame on people for giving you slack. You are not giving away secrets.. actually what you are doing is getting Shelee more artists who want to take her course because there is so much to learn from her. I have seen this recipe from several people. Not just from you and Tammy. I wont mention names but there are a couple artists that have thousands and thousands of followers... I actually took the class because of seeing this recipe and knowing that the course would teach me a lot more than this recipe and there was a lot to learn. People need to just stop causing drama. I watch all these video's and pour to escape from my own drama and everyday life, we don't need people coming in here and causing drama. this is our escape So you keep doing what you are doing. Love your work, Debbie

Thank you Pamella! I have never experienced anything quite like it. I feel like I kept my rant quite subdued given how horrible the experience was for me. I just can't recommend it as some of the other folks do, based on my experience. And I know you had one heck of a horrible experience with the group as well...

Jenny Post In my opinion, the course should not be offered globally or sold as such because the products offered in that video are only available in Australia. Jenny Post good for you for following your heart and being generous. I agree with what you said about the gang mentality in some of the social media groups regarding the sharing of techniques and ingredients. Such a turn off. If a person hasn’t patented their process, then it’s out there for people to learn and do as they see fit, like you mentioned. Sorry to hear about your feeling bullied. I’m curious about how Shellee feels and reacts to all of the infighting. I imagine it’s uncomfortable for her as well.
@JennyPost
@JennyPost 4 жыл бұрын
@@theangrykitten It is a good question. The primary reason I cannot recommend the course is because she did not take a strong stand and say that bullying behavior was unacceptable. Had she done that, and been a true leader, I would have felt comfortable recommending the course. While it might have made her uncomfortable, the bullying did benefit her in a very direct way. The gang-like behavior kept people scared and too intimidated to share. It was incredible harmful to the pouring community.

Thank you Penny! I think a lot of people who smoke are helped by using that turkey baster as a blowing tool... it allows you to focus your air and not have to blow as hard. @JennyPost 4 жыл бұрын
I noticed that Kanella Ciraco just put out a video showing a larger canvas, and Erica Hughes did a 20" canvas on one of her videos last week. With Erica, she did a bunch of little blooms - filled the larger canvas up, and then tilted it... which makes sense. I will be trying to go bigger before too long, and I will be sure to film it. In the meantime, those two artists should have a lot of info for you!

Isn't it a pity that one needs courage to be open and sharing? It's a poor reflection on those closed minds who attack and bully people for wanting to spread knowledge. Well done to you, to Tammy, to Jenn, to Erica, to Karen and to everyone who says knowledge shared is knowledge doubled. And pity for those who believe that knowledge shared is knowledge halved.

So very well stated!! Yes!! Knowledge shared is knowledge doubled. I love this. Thank you so much for your kind words. I have been so transformed by this community of inspiration over the past several years. I think that is why I reacted so strongly to the closed nature of that group and their mindset about sharing. It was the OPPOSITE of what I fell in love with about the pouring community. Anyway, onward and upward!

You can take the bulb off of a turkey baster and blow through it, but that is still technically your mouth. I have seen people use air brushes to do the blowing. The paint is very thick and very stretchy! You want to get a satin or semi-gloss (don't get flat paint or high gloss). If it is too thin, you can thicken it with a gel medium... If it is too thick, you can thin it with floetrol or pouring medium. You want your puddle to stay thick and form a cushion for the puddles of color, so if it slides off , it is probably too thin. I hope this helps!!

I think that I have gotten better results on canvas, now that I think about it... it is kinda hard to say, but if I am FORCED to pick one, I will go with canvas. I think that the give/stretch of the canvas allows the pillow to move a bit better.

Jenny, I am one of the original "watchers" of your videos....You were one of my original favorites and I am glad to see you are back. So many people "copied" your art, when they did multiple pour cups . You were an inspiration to me. I woudl like your opinion on whether you think this can be translated to a large canvas. I stopped pouring for the most part, but I wanted to make a christmas gift for a business associate. It seems to me that the trick is the thick underpaint, Seems you would need more than a gallon for even a 30x40 inch canvas. what do you think? Seems the transparent colors are what "does it"..I remember over 3 years ago, it was all about transparent. I got an "oops" that is almost pure white at home depot last week. It is flat. Do you think that would work? Or is satin necessary? Its funny bc for a long time I used satin house paint, then realized it was cheaPer with coupons to use artists loft white from the big bottle, however my Paintings have not been as interesting. It could be bc I used to use satin house paint!

@@JennyPost I tried the technique tday(got all the ingredients....-not much to praise...maybe on the tiny tiles it looks good but the cells are small. I get bigger cells my old way and the only thing I see better is the definition of the lacing. I did a 36x48 foor canvas, Maybe moving the paint around takes away the effects as opposed to the "bloom" I think the "recipe" is really more for the mica powders than for tube paint. It reminds me of when people added the powder to resin...

@@crochethappy3786 It is SO hard to do a giant canvas with this technique. I have actually never heard of anyone doing a canvas as large as that with this technique. That is one of my biggest complaints about it. Was your first try a giant canvas?
@crochethappy3786
@crochethappy3786 4 жыл бұрын
@@JennyPost No, I did a 12x12 inch first. The pulling away from the canvas did not begin until about 8 hours after the pour and it progressed to the next day. As I said, whenever you do a large canvas, you cannot move one area with out distorting the area on the other side. You know this because of all the flip cups you have done. I used to mention on the pour groups to check out your pours. I remember the first ones you did with your husband. You used so much paint...Anyway, you can probably use the technique to your advantage if you want all those "channels" I think what is happening is that the pre treated product is acting as a resist (in the white paint on top) and it is almost caustic,,,as I said you can make it to your advantage--but I am getting some very deep channels in areas that dont work with the design....

A float frame is way different. I get mine at Dick Blick online only. mine is a 9x12 and the result is stunning. your tile looks like its floating and the frame makes it look “professional” if you know what I mean. I also frame my 6X6 tile on a 7x7 beveled wood frame and spray paint it with the color to correspond with the tile. I then do sets of 3 and mout them on a small wall. if you send me your email, Ill send you a pic.

Thank you Jenny. I watched the night Tammy Anderson posted her video. I think she was just tired of all the drama. I’ll have to say I’ve never been quite so disappointed. This was a community of sharing and caring about each other. I can’t believe you were to one being accused of no sense of humanity when all you wanted to do is share. Seems a little backwards to me. Anyway I hope all of that is out of the way and everyone can get back to normal. Your blooms are beautiful.

Thank you so much, Stacey. It has been really jarring that is for sure. I think everything is leveling out now that Tammy did her video, and others followed. When the course first came out, people were rabid and stayed that way for about 6 weeks or so afterwards. People like me, who stood up to those being bullies, were vilified by those who were reveling in the hateful behavior. I felt like they were doing serious harm to the pouring community... the most vocal "leaders" of that group of students thought that was hilarious. It IS a community of sharing and caring, and that is why it got under my skin so much.
