Harry's owner honestly seems proud that Harry has survived and made it through so many issues. He doesn't seem regretful or sorry about any of Harry's traumas. If your pet has a wound, get it looked at! Don't wait until it's oozing and stinking. What a numpty! Someone needs to save poor Harry and let him live the rest of his years in the lap of luxury.

surprising that harry has lived 13 years if this owner is allowing him to get into all these cat fights and "falling off a few balconies"
@helenl3193
@helenl3193 3 жыл бұрын
I'm in London, UK and we've always had rescue cats that go out a bit. Fights will happen, (hopefully only occasionally) especially if there's a lot of other cats in the area, but falling off of balconies is alarming! That's not normal imho. I hope his sister had a word with him about proper, responsible pet ownership! 🤯
@helenl3193
@helenl3193 3 жыл бұрын
Also, I think it depends on the cat and the owner - we've always had a safe, green space (private or communal garden) they can use, and try to always be around when they go out so we can break up any fights that start. I have friends who have indoor cats, and they are perfectly happy. I never force mine, but as ex-strays they can get anxious if kept confined so I will leave the window open so they can go out on the patio during the day. I always look for homes that aren't on busy main roads, so it's that bit safer if they do venture past the garden and I believe most animal rescues here will only let you have indoor cats if you live in a high traffic area. It's about managed risk, really. Finding the best, safest option for each cat. If I ever got kittens I'd probably train them on harnesses so I could take them out like that instead (which I'm attempting with my 12 and 3 yr old girls, but turns out it's not just old dogs that struggle with new tricks!) Assuming I had they alongside some of the current gang - it wouldn't be fair to try and make them housecats while their older siblings got to play by different rules!

@@tinydancer7426 I have rescue cats and they all get stressed about being groomed. I have found tricks to try and get around their reluctance, but it's not easy. The newest addition won't even let me touch him yet (adult ex-stray who got injured/mistreated - I found him limping around the communal garden and started feeding him), I'm trying to socialise him, it's very slow but we're making progress. He trusts me more than others, but brushing is out of the question, for now. So, for some of us, brushing is a real issue for good reasons. Not so much the case with Harry though, I think his owner leaves a lot to be desired!

If Harry is scratching when friends come over but is docile at the vets, he is probably territorial and there are ways to deal with that so your friends dont have to bleed
@poweredbymoonlight9869
@poweredbymoonlight9869 3 жыл бұрын
He said harry gets overstimlated by the kids or whoever it was that like to come over and pat him. That's a completely different thing. What the owner needs to do in that case is to not allow the ones who usually make him overstimulated be so intense. Cats will bite bite and scratch if they are overstimulated. You can't blame a cat for basically trying to make them stop with violence as it's last resort when the humans obviously failed to see the signs of him already trying to show and tell them it's enough.

@helenl3193

Yeah, another commenter was judging him for letting him go outside and get into fights. Imho him letting Harry out to play is less of a concern than that he seems to not know much about caring for him and making sure he feels safe and isn't getting overwhelmed/over stimulated by visitors at home. It seems like he only brought him to the vet because the wound had started to smell, not because he was aware of the problem/monitoring it until it started impacting him with the smell. Poor Harry 😕 I hope I'm wrong and he's a better owner than he appears here! 🤞🤞
@jeannegallegos8410
@jeannegallegos8410 3 жыл бұрын
Personally, I think that the owner of Harry is negligent. How could he let that wound fester. Harry needs some Behavior Modification and so does his owner. Also, keeping people away while he's "overstimulated" is a great 💡 that someone suggested. Meet the friends somewhere else. And educate that owner. Keep Harry indoors &`away from fights. 💜❤ Harry's a good cat. Take good care of him.

I don't like the part where he "massages" the snake's head to extract more venom from them it really looks like he's squeezing very tight and it looks painful for the snake just imagine some giant grabbing your jaw and cupping it in their hands and squeezing that hard, hard enough to possibly even dislocate your jaw ouch. @@fruitpunch-mouth Birds are dinosaurs. The same way that humans are mammals, birds are the only surviving lineage of dinosaurs. Specifically, they're descended from the therapods like t-rex and velociraptors. All other dinosaur died out- they didn't turn into sharks or anything else. But there were crocodilians, mammals, and sharks alive at the same time as dinosaurs so I can see why you'd think that.

defectiveshark I always kind of knew it meant to “act out”, be silly but I never ever knew the origin of it until now, if it’s correct. Urban Dictionary: “This expression is a shortened version of the longer and more widespread phrase ‘be like a pork chop in a synagogue’; this has been around since the 1950s. Since pork is forbidden food for Jewish people, to describe something as being like a pork chop in a synagogue means that it is highly inappropriate, embarrassingly out of place, and quite unwelcome. The Australian expression ‘carry on like a pork chop’ has now shifted the focus from inappropriateness to foolishness.” I hope this helps! 😀 have a blessed weekend!

Its hard to say this because i love the whole crew, but those snakes need so much more enrichment... A plain cage with a single or even two hides is not substantial at all.

@@karenlynch1880 the snakes live there 24/7. They are kept to have their vemon drained once every so often to make antivemon. The minimalist enclosures help find them for this process, however the snakes do need more than one or 2 hides and should be able to stretch out completely along the length of the enclosure.

And learn to play with him properly... the fact that he's attacking peoples hands at home, but not attacking anyone at the vets office, means that he's been taught that hands = toys, and when he gets excited and riled up at home, his only outlet has been going after the hands that are playing with him. Should never use your hands to play with your cat... need to use toys.

Although I love the regulars it was really nice seeing Dr. Danni on the show. I also enjoyed the clip at the end where she recorded the theme song. She has such a wonderful voice. The look and the sound of the cashew Harry Birds really is reminiscent of the dinosaurs but they are related to and was a little unnerving. It was really refreshing to see some new faces on the show and the behind-the-scenes look at filming dangerous situations.

Idk about her cat but I had a cat once that refused to be an indoor fellow. I forced him until he was vaccinated and neutered, and out he went. If I hadn't, he'd have found a way eventually. That and he never shut up about going out. It was constant for about 2 months. Neutered and fully vaccinated? I was done with the complaining. He was the best cat. Lived a long life, and one had two serious issues with bladder stones. For into a few cat fights, and went "missing" twice. It isn't easy HAVING an outdoor cat. We worry. But some cats refuse to accept an indoor life. T was one of those. Sometimes, quality is more important than quantity. Cats aren't meant to be kept inside. I know why we do it, but it's not really their nature. T would have been miserable, and I'd rather had him lived happy for 3 years and be outdoors, then live 10 years locked inside. Because that's the kind of cat HE was. He was also smart, AND he never was out of range of where he could hear me, my car, come home, and he came home every night when we owned a doggie door. But he would have been miserable stuck inside all the time.

Abscesses that have burst on an animal definitely is a foul smell. It’s very very district and hard to miss. My dog got one after having a severe allergic reaction ( we went to the emergency vet as soon as we saw she was having an allergic reaction ) a month or so later she had an abscess burst on her back from her scratching. I found it when I was petting her and felt something wet and sticky. Took her to the vet ASAP after that. It’s important to keep it clean and flushed properly. Thank you for mentioning how to properly let an abscess heal! Sincerely somebody who used to work at a vet hospital.
