Honestly the trend should be balanced skin. Whatever makes your skin feel even and at baseline. I spent so much time trying to go for a dewy look and ended up consistently clogging my pores so I gave up and started just trying to balance my skin and that helped so much

Hi James! I don’t know if you’ve noticed this (but I’m sure you have, you’re so aware of these kinds of things 😅) but the new font you’re using with your fab new graphics is unfortunately really difficult to read 😭 The letters are a little less tricky than the numbers, but I noticed that when the cost of the products was on screen that they were really tricky to figure out. For ex., I couldn’t tell if a number was a 3 or a 5. Maybe something to have a look at for future reference. Thanks for the video 🤩

if you wanna try skmething better, kroger has a dupe of the supergoop glowscreen thats MUCH better in terms of the glow. its far more subtle, which makes it better than supergoop imo. plus its 3oz and like 10 bucks lol

Same here! The nearest Kroger is prob a 10-15 hour drive away from where I live so I am all about Skin 1004 and BOJ sunscreen!

I love a glow, but I did try a supergoop glow screen ON TOP of glowy skincare products, and it was a mess. I looked almost sweaty, and it made my textured parts even more noticeable.

Hey James, do you think you could do a a new series or mini series going over individual skincare ingredients? Such as their properties, what they are good for, where they come from, and some products that use that specific ingredient? For example skullcap root in some products from glow recipe. I think it would be a neat idea and you could even do it as KZfaq shorts

I mean this with the upmost respect, James' voice is so soothing, I actually fell asleep not even half way through the video. I'm lying in bed, I've not been sleeping as my little Bengal has been unwell for two weeks, thankfully he's better today. But I laid on my bed watching KZfaq and drifted off to sleep with James' gentle talking in the background. I just woke up, so I'm watching it again, but that hour & a half has done wonders for me. If you ever see this James, thank you. Not only for that, but for all your great videos. I love watching all 4 if you, I'd love to see Ashton doing a "what you thinking Hun" now she's been on camera. She was so sweet, extremely beautiful too.

@@donnamiddleton3964 awe bless you, thank you for asking It's been such a stressful few weeks, he was poorly for two weeks, constant vets visits and Skype calls (they seemed to be getting annoyed with me, but he wasn't getting better) Thankfully he's doing so much better now. I thought he'd gotten better, but he vomitted (bless him) but since then he's made a full recovery and is back to his usual mistechivous, playful self and I love every moment of it. Thank you so much, we're sending hugs and well wishes back. That was extremely nice of you. It means a lot x 😻

I love the Supergoop Glow Screen but it's definitely one you need to wear under makeup. Once my makeup is on top it leaves me looking the perfect amount of dewy. On it's own I look like the tin man's cousin lol. I have really dry skin and I find it works well as a primer because I don't get any piling with it and of course the dewy look. For anyone who's bought it and hates how it looks on it's own (trust me, I get it) try it under makeup.

I can’t get it to stay pretty throughout the day ! It initially looks fine under makeup but by midday it starts to feel like it’s pilling/gathering . Curious what foundation you use on top 😊

@@cathrynthor I have several I switch between. The most common is NARS, either the radient longwear or the sheer glow. I've also used L'Oréal true match and the infalilble 24h with no issues.

I have been watching your videos for years now and I absolutely love them! I found about some great products. Recently I have been on a skincare diet not sure if my skin became clearer by using less products or I just started to need them anymore as I did my diet. Keeping it simple with just toner, moisturizer and spf and exfoliating when I feel like it

The skinrocks moisturizer packaging reminds me so much of the skinfix packaging. Which, incidentally, also comes with a pretty elevated price point that I'm not sure is warranted.

The BYOMA cleansing balm is the worst I have ever tried. In addition to it being waxy, not melting or dissolving down, not really removing make up, and leaving a film behind, it also has something in it that is minty or eucalyptus (think Noxzema?) in it that stings my eyes and skin a bit. I looked at the ingredients and can’t figure out what it is that is causing that, but it is the WORST cleansing balm I’ve ever tried. To add insult to injury, the packaging is deceptive and contains less than half the volume of the exterior container (one of those containers in a container type packaging). HORRIBLE!!!

Hey James, just wanted to say that you've made skincare seem so enjoyable and luxurious that I've really gotten into it recently. I've always been fairly knowledgeable about skincare since I had problematic skin, but never really enjoyed it. Now I have products with nice packaging (basically just glow recipe...) and comfortable formulations and it's just something I look forward to each morning and evening instead of the 'ugh, have to do my skincare.' Thanks for making a 'boring but good for you' thing so enjoyable! 💞

I have really dry skin the glow screen really worked well, esp under foundations that are little more satin/matte. But my fav is the glow recipe, sinks into the skin, not greasy at all. Love it.

I hear you. Elf made a dupe for it and tbh I like it more! It's not as gung ho with the shimmer and I find (for me at least) it doesn't emphasize texture/pores. Plus it's a lot cheaper. Give it a shot if you're still on the market 💜

Have you tried the Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Soothing Gel, James? I’m really into moisturisers recently. I’ve been loving that one and the Etude House Soon Jung Emulsion.

There's SO many Korean moisturisers from cream to gel you can get in this £58 ($72) one. I still can't figure what makes it so "luxury" considering the ingredients and plastic pot packaging?! 🤷‍♀️

I think you have to look at it this way. Most of these Korean brands are owned by larger conglomerates. They aren’t what is really considered a self funded ‘indie’ brand. But also, just because there are cheaper options, it doesn’t mean the pricier products is bad or should be ignored and isn’t worth praise in anyway!

LaRoche Posay has done wonders for my dry/sensitive skin. I had a sample bag as my sister is a nurse and does cosmetic stuff too, so she gets lots of samples. It's amazing. I'd rather invest in a brand I know works for me, than waste money through trail and error. Honestly, there's a reason so many derms recommend it (and it's not because they get it so many samples, as they get tons of samples from other brands, even brands under the same umbrella) it's because it works. It's pretty much universal for skin types. It does what it says and it does it great! Yes. You can get cheaper and more, but you can really simplify your routine with this brand, buy what you need and know that it works. Haha you made the eye cream serum review just after I wrote this, I haven't tried it, but that made me laugh.

I absolutely agree on the La Roche Posay stuff. The packaging is meh at best and annoying at worst, but their products are always 10/10 for me (well MOST). My skin didn’t like SkinFix for some reason, so the cica plast cream from Posay did exactly what I wanted but didn’t get from the barrier repair cream.

My favorite cleansing balm is the By Beauty Bay Butter Cup w/ oat lipid and chamomile. Not expensive and really gets the makeup off. A close second is elf Holy Hydration cleansing balm. It doesn’t get mascara off quite as well as the Beauty Bay one, but if my shipment from the UK hasn’t made it yet, it’s my go-to. Then I use the LaRoche-Posay Toleraine gentle cleanser for a double cleanse. I love LRP overall. I haven’t loved their serums, but cleansers, moisturizers, and sunscreen? My skin loves it. Might need to try the cica serum!

I saw that Cicaplast serum but was shocked at how expensive it was. The balm is only like £7.99, but the serum is £39, so it was an easy pass for me. The price difference between the serum and the cream is pretty stark and doesn't make sense to me, I could never pay that much for just a cica serum when there are so many cheaper and nice K Beauty ones with centella too.

Finally someone else who hated the super goop glow screen! I like so many of their products, but this just looks like a glitter mask that, yes, reveals every pore on your face. I don’t know how people wear this without putting foundation over the top to cover it up.

In terms of Skin rocks. I have read many reviews that say the opposite of what James said. But it seems to suit more combo skin then dry etc. its defo pricey! I did think she would have come at a cheaper price keeping in mind her kits used to be very discounted.

Oh James PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can you review Peter Thomas Roth skin care? I got sent a sample sent in my Sephora purchase (Rare Beauty Makeup🤗) and I tried the Hyaleuronic Cloud Creme and it feels so nice and smooth on. It makes my face feel amazing without leaving any residue. I would love to hear your expert opinion on it as I’m thinking I might buy more products🙏 The cloud crème is really like a fluffy cloud ☁️ ❤️❤️☁️

the loreal revitalift eye serum with that metal wand applicator was the same for me at the beginning, just so sticky but now it doesn't do that anymore, don't know why?!?!?! but I use it everyday because the applicator is so nice

Funny you say that about the Glow Screen how you tasted it for days. I had the same problem with the Elf Sunscreen that’s a dupe for the Glow screen! I don’t know why, but every damn time I use that Elf SPF I taste it all day, into the next day, and it makes me literally sick! I don’t have that problem with any other sunscreen. It must somehow migrate into my mouth. I’ve never had a product actually make me nauseous and sick when I use it 🤢🤮

Honestly, I spend $9 or so on Jergens lotion and slap on twice as much at night than in the morning, and that's it. I've been doing this for maybe five days, and my coworker told me my skin/make up looked really smooth today. Slugging can be done on a budget, and still have good results, lol. I'll def try more interesting products when my budget allows - thanks for another inspiring and interesting video 💜🖤

I'd really like your opinion on the Heimish cleansing balm and the TIA'M vitamina a bakkuchiol serum. But the slugging thing isn't entirely correct. It's something that has been around for a very long time and all around the world. It's a thing in many African cultural skincare things (there I heard of doing it with shea butter) for example and if you want to look in the UK well it's been a skincare thing there at least as long as cold cream existed (which they used for oil cleansing their skin and for slugging in the late 18th century, I haven't looked up skincare from earlier periods).

Please, please, please I need some advice about sunscreen brands that I will not break out or give me brand new, beautiful blackheads on (places where my face has never had blackheads). The moment I start using sunscreen regularly my skin just "explodes". I have never had acne, my skin now is normal. I have used Vichy, Avene, Uriage, La Roche. I've purchased from both. Stylevana has cheaper products because it comes from Hong Kong but shipping it from the warehouse takes forever. Stylekorean is slightly more expensive but you can find some really good deals. It is also faster and comes from Korea. Oliveyoung and yes style are also good options that come from Korea have fast shipping and good deals.

La roche posay needs to improve their packaging. I’m using their niacinamide serum and it’s doing wonders for my dark circles but the serum is so thick and sticks to the outside of the pipette and I spill it almost every time I use it. These thicker serums really need a pump or a simple squeeze packaging

Have you tried Ethique? They're environmentally friendly and have ph balanced and fragrance-free options. While their scrub bars are defiantly a no-go for me (rosacea), I like their face and body cleansers. They've also come out with concentrates (some fragrance-free) you can melt in water to make a liquid product that seem interesting.

I wonder…some essential oils have natural anti bacterial properties. Do you think companies are adding them to preserve the natural products from spoiling too fast? It seems to me they would also be skin irritants though…🤔

Dang that Supergoop sunscreen made my greasy af Sebamed sunscreen look decent. Supergoop's am American sunscreen brand, I'd steer away from those as if it's infected.

Not just you, the font in general is pretty hard to read and those numbers are the worst. I don't usually have any problems with different fonts but I had to pause and squint really hard with this one.
