Aeris 3 in 1 Update Klaara P7 Pro
Here is an updated video on the Aeris 3 in 1/Klaara P7 Pro: • Aeris 3 in 1 Update #2...
Here is a quick update on the Aeris 3 in 1 air purifier.
As you may already know if you’ve seen some of my videos on the Aeris 3 in 1 - I consider it to be one of the best mass produced air purifiers for particle filtration on the market and I own one. iRobot purchased the Aeris company for over $70 million dollars a few years ago…
Since then.. It has been somewhat hard finding the 3 in 1 in the United States especially for the past several months.
Well, we finally have some answers on it’s status - iRobot said it will be back in North America in 2024.
It is currently only being sold in Japan.
There has been a name change and it is now called the Klaara P7 Pro and it will link and talk with the iRobot vacuums and even turn on when the vacuums turn on, as well.
There were some other changes made to the Klaara - for one thing the Aeris 3 in 1 was manufactured in Switzerland but the Klaara is almost certainly to be made in China just like all the other iRobot vacuums have been since 2002.
Aeris 3 in 1 Update Klaara P7 Pro
iRobot added their logo to the front of the Klaara units.
The HEPA filter in the Aeris 3 in 1 was an H13 but iRobot says the Klaara units will have an upgraded H14 filter in them which will be interesting.
I assume the filter replacements from the Klaara will also work with the current Aeris 3 in 1 units, as well… but it sounds like they changed the unit up a bit. I currently run an Aeris 3 in 1 in my bedroom and I’m very interested to see what other changes they made to the filter and overall unit….
The Aeris Light unit is not scheduled to come back to North America in 2024. And that is a shame as I own one of those, as well, and I think it is the best particle filtration air purifier on the market for less than $400… so I do hope they eventually bring that unit back to North America, as well.
So, for a few months now - I’ve been asking myself - ya know, why would a company purchase an elite air purification manufacturer for over $70 million dollars and then decide to take it away from North America? Right? It just doesn’t make any sense… So, I’ve been a little perplexed on this issue but it appears that it will arrive back in North american within the coming months and it will be called the Klaara P7 Pro. Hopefully, it will be able to filter as well as the original Aeris 3 in 1. We shall see… But all in all - I think this is very good and possibly Great news. Happy Holidays!

A little FYI, just received my IQAir Health Pro Plus based on your review. There is a “New” Edition being shipped. Better air output, 32% quieter and better sealing

Yeah, the "NE" - New Edition has been on the market for over 7 years - maybe 8. They keep marketing it kinda like it just came out recently w/in the past 12 months or something... but it's actually been on the market for several years. Thanks!

HPP “ New Edition “ 😂 They recently increased their Atem X from $1299 to $1399 and it doesn’t even come with a carbon filter. It’s a nice looking unit that was on my radar but that missing carbon is a head scratcher, and a deal breaker. I agree with your take on the upcoming Klaara P7. If it’s to be assembled in China, I doubt it’ll be good as the original. Question. Do you have a preference with the inlet/outlet placement?

This is something I think about a lot. I'm gonna say - the best air purifier solutions seem to have the air coming in from the bottom and exiting out at the top. The IQAir HealthPro Plus and the Aeris 3 in 1 both push the air through their units in this manner and I don't think it is a coincidence they are two of the best solutions. Also, I think some high level industrial air purifiers may have kinda copied the IQAir HPP airflow as well - as the Camfil CC500 unit and another $5,000 air purifier, I was recently looking at, both push the air in a similar manner as the HPP. So, I currently think IQAir may have kinda set the standard with this design over 20 years ago. @@xdean

To ask about a different realm of equipment, do you have any thoughts on buying a humidifier for our bedroom? Are they good or should they be avoided for any reason? My wife has allergies and occasionally will get nose bleeds.

Hi Doug, thank you for all the very informative advice. We have been recently suffering from neighbours second hand smoke. We have communicated with them multiple times, but not all of us are aware of the PMs. prior to watching your videos ( myself included) In short, when they smoked outdoor, our gas furnace fresh air intake will pull the smell into our indoor air vent. With the colder weather, I suspect they are smoking inside. The thing is, we can barely smell it but my Dyson shows the PMs 2.5 goes up to the 30s few times a night when they are home. I know the readings are not accurate but the PMs are usually 0 when they are not home. We have Winix and Dyson ( pretty useless ) at home, so we have a more economical options in air filter?

Hey Ms. Cheung - Yes, that is exactly what typically occurs. People will smoke indoors much more often during the colder months and that is when I mostly get the "2nd hand smoke from neighbors" inquiries. It is tricky as tobacco smoke is supposed to range in size from about .01 to 4 microns depending on which source is citing the size ranges. And the most common sizes of tobacco smoke may actually be ultrafine (less than .1 microns). Ultrafine filtration typically requires somewhat of a strong air purification solution - and unfortunately, they are not inexpensive. I currently only really recommend the IQAir Healthpro Plus and the Aeris 3 in 1 for ultrafine particles. Economical Options? You can possibly get a less expensive solution which helps "improve" your current co-existence with the neighbor but it won't really help much with the ultrafine particles, IMO. For example, I bought the Austin Air Healthmate for my bedroom to help me when I was gagging from dust from my vents. It solved my immediate issue of waking up at 2 - 3 AM and coughing like crazy. But I don't think it is nearly as good for ultrafine particles. So, I eventually switched to the Aeris 3 in 1. All that said, perhaps a Coway 300 can help with your immediate co-existence issue... they are decent units and have a decent amount of carbon and it seems you can currently get one on Amazon for about $431. Coway's pricing has been all over the place... a few weeks back I saw the 300 for about $350 around Black Friday. If you want to try a less expensive solution for your bedroom which may possibly help - then I would say perhaps the Winix 5500 or the Coway Mighty - but it appears you may already have a Winix 5500. Unfortunately, I just don't know of a really good, inexpensive solution for ultrafine particles. And taking smoke out of the air is pretty difficult for air purifiers, in general... esp. since the source keeps emitting pollutants into the air on a constant basis. Happy Holidays!😃

The updated 5500 has more carbon and it may be able to help you in smaller spaces depending on how much smoke is coming in but... it is hard to say. Good Luck!@@catherinecheung207

Could use a review on the Atem X. I bought it and I live in a pm 0.3 area that has levels over 50,000 almost daily. I also have little kids. I need exceptional help, but no one has talked about the Atem x yet.

For reference I have a GC MultiGas and a Healthproplus. I don’t need more carbon filtration, just ultrafine particulates.
@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation 6 ай бұрын
The IQAir HealthPro Plus is probably one of if not the best options if you are in North America. It filters Ultrafine particles better than the Atem X. (99.5% at .003 microns vs. 99%). The Atem X is better looking. Covers more space. And is Smart with an app. and air quality sensor but I personally don't care about any of those things... I just care about the filtration capability and it appears the HealthPro Plus is better. They really hit a home run from an engineering standpoint with the HPP as very few competitors have been able to challenge its performance the past 2 decades. And now, I see some high-end competitors basically trying to copy some of the HPP's characteristics. It appears that even IQAir couldn't match or beat the particle filtration performance of the HPP with the newer Atem X. I think that just shows what an elite solution the HPP really is. @@emortalbob2

Thoughts on getting a refurbished Aeris 3 in 1? Some sites have it for $400 but I am wondering if buying refurbished is even safe, since who knows what house the unit used in before. My only other options are get a new HPP or wait an unknown number of months for the Irobot version.

It is really hard for me to say as I don't have any experience with refurbs and I think it depends on the company you would be dealing with. Yeah, unfortunately, those are the 2 best in my opinion but hopefully we'll run into more high quality units over time - that are reasonably priced. I feel like eventually a company will come forward with superior filtration at a reasonable price... and leave all the additional electronic/smart features off the table... to help lower the pricing. + folks don't really need all those bells and whistles. I feel like there is tremendous demand for this combination... and Aeris had the Lite unit for about $399 and it did have elite filtering capabilities for smaller rooms like bedrooms... but it does not sound like it will be available in 2024 in NA... Hopefully, they bring that back into circulation... That unit - at that price is a game changer, IMO. Happy Holidays!😃

The IQAir HealthPro Plus is probably the best option on the market right now for elite particle filtration, IMO. It is 3rd party tested at 99.5% down to .003 microns which does a fantastic job of filtering the most dangerous Ultrafine Particles. So, that is currently the unit I would go with if you are looking for one of the best on the market. I run it in my family room and have had great feedback and testimonials on it from customers for over a decade. It is the real deal. Good Luck!👍

The HPP is a FANTASTIC air purification solution for about $900. It excels at particle filtration and does a good job on Ultrafine Particles, as well. Depending on what you want to use it for... I run one in my family room. It is elite for particle filtration! Thanks!👍
