If they aren't producing them (right now) would it be risky to invest in one if needing to replace the filter down the road ?
@AirPurificationEducation

I had someone from Europe comment the 3 in 1 is actively being sold there this past week... so IDK why they told me it was only being sold in Japan. With a new CEO coming into iRobot and them being in financial trouble.... I know the replacement filters are available today... and I know they say they will continue to "Support the unit" but the next version of it is the Klaara P7 and it will have a different filter in it. It looks very similar to the 3 in 1 but are we 100% sure that filter is gonna fit perfectly in the current 3 in 1 chassis? IDK... I think it is definitely more risky than going with an IQAir HealthPro Plus - yes. The new CEO may decide to get rid of the air purifiers altogether... and maybe a different company takes the product line over and they provide horrible service (I've seen this happen with a different manufacturer in the past). So, there are some variables I am not totally comfortable with and I personally wouldn't purchase one at this time until we find out the future plans of the product. @@CR-my4qh

Bought an open box aeris 3-in-1 for my living room and a Dyson HP09 for my bedroom. Love the aeris for my living room. It is every bit as elite as your reviews. The Dyson, while not nearly as good as an air purifier, the fan was the reason I bought it more than the filtration so although it is extremely overpriced, it is exactly what I needed and beautiful to look at.

The highway passes next to my house with a large volume of car traffic. Nearby buildings use central heating and release waste from the homes' chimneys. As it is an old building, the house does not have a smoke outlet and the smoke from the kitchens of all the houses is expelled through an individual chimney. Smoke from the kitchens of other homes filters through the windows of the upper homes. What model would you choose for this case?

Amazing video thank you so much! My wife was just allergy tested and we learned she is ver allergic to dust mites and dust. What would be your #1 choice for an air filter for that issue? We need one filter for a 500sqft bedroom and another larger one for the living room. Money is no issue, just want to get her relief and clean the air as much as possible with dust mites in mind. Thank You for ay suggestion!!! (We do not smoke, have no rugs and all tile floors, have one medium sized dog).

Thank you for your kind words.😀 1) I would currently go with an IQAir HealthPro Plus for both spaces: amzn.to/3NIJ6Uq 2) A good HEPA vacuum would probably help, as well. I don't know if you already have one... I use a Nilfisk GD930. 3) Lower Relative Humidity may also help if your current RH is above 50% or 60%. I typically tell folks to keep their RH at or below 60% as that will prevent mold from growing... but it appears some sources are saying to keep it below 50% for Dust Mite issues.... I have 15 years of experience selling dehumidification solutions, as well... if you feel you need one. Thank you and Good Luck!👍

@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation Күн бұрын
Thank you for your kind words. 1) IQAir Watts: On Speed 1 - 27 watts, 2 - 53, 3 - 92, 4 - 121, 5 - 154, 6 - 215 Watts Austin Air watts: Speed 1 - 56 Watts, Speed 2 - 83 Watts, Speed 3 - 132 Watts. 2) Coway Airmega Pro X I don’t have direct experience with the Coway Airmega Pro X but based on what I see online… My initial knee jerk reaction/opinions are: A) The carbon only covers ½ of the airflow coming into the unit. I have never seen this design before and I don’t think it is a good idea for odors/chemicals/VOCs. As only ½ the air going into the unit will go through the carbon. Plus there doesn’t seem to be a lot of carbon with the solution so I do not think it is a good solution for odors/chemicals. B) The replacement filters retail for $200 which is fairly expensive when considering they get changed every 6 to 12 months. So, the solution is less expensive to initially purchase but the cost of the filter replacements is more than either of the IQAir HPP or the Austin Air Healthmate. C) There is not a great seal between the HEPA filter and the inside of the unit so it will not filter particles as well as the IQAir HPP or the Austin Air Healthmate. The IQAir HPP in particular, is one of the best units on the market for ultrafine particle filtration and the Pro X will not be able to compete with it in this regard (but very few solutions are able to). D) It does cover a lot of space as it is supposed to get 4 air exchanges in 1,000 sq. ft. which IS impressive. So, all in all, I think it will perform for particle filtration in a similar manner to the Coway 400 which is really good for the money and the area coverage. It’s just that the filter replacements will not be cheap. Hope that helps. 👍

Awesome video! I recently installed a mini-split in my garage 18k btu with heat and cool, ~420 sqft in Florida. (garage attic is insulated as is the garage door. but two side walls are cinderblocks, it gets humid in garage, especially during heavy rain. The house is old 1970's). Any advice on how to keep the air clean and properly humified? Any products you'd recommend? I'd LOVE to see videos on this.

Thank you for your feedback! I don't wanna brag but I do have a lot of dehumidification experience, as well, lol! 1) I dealt with a FL customer in the past who ran a mini split in their home and he said it did a fantastic job of dehumidification for them. They had a Mitsubishi - which is one of the most expensive units. That said, the mini split manufacturers themselves told us that they were not good for dehumidification (even Mitsubishi told us that, lol). And I've heard different customers say their mini-splits were good for dehumidification and I’ve heard other mini-split owners say they were not good for dehumidification. So, I am assuming your mini-split is not doing a good job of dehumidification for you. 2) You do not have a lot of cubic footage and therefore you can get away with a small capacity unit. I’d look at a something like a Danby 40 pint unit. Like the Danby DDR040BJWDB-ME which is about $210 on Amazon. All these inexpensive dehumidifiers are made in China and their quality is poor. However, I would say that this particular Danby may be the lesser of the evils. If you get 4 years out of it - consider it a win. Your other option is spending $800+ for American-made solutions and you just don’t have the cubic footage to justify that, IMO. Try to keep your Relative humidity around 60% or lower and that would be good. Of note: Any dehumidifier you put in this space will “Heat” the space when they turn on. All of them. 3) If you want the best air quality - you could go with an IQAir HealthPro Plus which is about $899. If you want something less expensive that will not really help with the most dangerous Ultrafine Particles - you could go with a Coway 300 which is about $438 on Amazon. Or if you just want to really budget down - you could go with a Coway Airmega AP-1512HH Mighty which is about $169 on Amazon. I hope this helps - Good Luck!👍

I just got a healthpro plus and have been using it for a week straight. I was surprised when I wiped my hand over the top of the unit and it was really dusty. Does that mean it’s not filtering adequately? I was hoping to filter ultrafine particles! It’s in a 100sq ft bedroom
@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation 5 ай бұрын
Thanks for your question. My Aeris 3 in 1 (@$750), Camfil City M (@$1,200), Austin Air Healthmate (@$715) and IQAir HealthPro Plus ALL have dust on the top of the units. And these are 4 of the best air purifiers on the market right now for particle filtration. No air purifier will take all the dust away from falling in your room on the desk, window sills or even on the top of the air purifier, itself. That said, you have an elite unit for particle filtration - one of the best... and yes, one of the very best for ultrafine particles, as well. The dust we see and feel with our fingers - has to be 10 microns in size and larger (or the Human naked eye can't see it) and they will float in the air for much LESS time than the smaller, Ultrafine particles (which tend to remain suspended in the air for long periods of time). The larger dust particles will be pulled down to settle on the floor, desk or the top of the air purifiers much quicker. And we can see and feel them when they accumulate. However, we can't see or feel the Ultrafine particles (.1 to .003 microns in size). They are kinda like invisible, evil, no good doers that we cannot detect with our senses. Dust will still get everywhere in the environments that the air purifiers reside and run... Even if the air purifiers are run on high speed in smaller rooms... as I run my 3 in 1 on #5 and #6 speeds 24 hours a day - in only about 240 sq. ft.... and it still gets dust on top of the unit (and all over my room). That's just the way it is... Hope that helps!👍

Awesome Thomas! The 300S probably performs better than most air purifiers on the market and it will improve the air quality in most environments. But that Aeris 3 in 1 is ELITE for particle filtration, for sure. Thanks for letting me know it is available to some people outside the US. + someone in Europe, last week, said it is also available there, too. What I like about IQAIr is that its all manufactured in Switzerland. The majority of the competitors are manufactured in China. Also, I like that the HealthPro Plus the filter replacement is 18 months or more depending on which filter you are replacing. The carbon filter is 24 months. The cost is reasonable and you get a 10 year warrenty. I liked the video where the owner demostrated the performance within a glass chamber. The other brand that I have seen is the Aspen Air Purifier. There are differences between the two brands. Aspen uses a MERV 16 filter whereas IQAir uses H12/13 (HEPA) filters. Also, I liked that the HealhPro Plus has 5lbs of carbon. If you go with the HealthPro Plus GC that has 12 lbs of carbon.

I currently run an IQAir HPP in my bedroom and it is a really good unit, for sure. I run mine on speed 5 all day long 247 - so my filter changes are sooner. Also, I don't think the carbon is super effective after 6 or so months.... but maybe that's just me. I wouldn't really buy one for odor issues. The GC IS really good for odors/VOCs.

@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation Ай бұрын
The 3 in 1 filter has carbon in it to help with odors/VOCs however, I am not crazy about the carbon's staying power after a few months so I wouldn't buy a 3 in 1 for odors. It only has about 2.2 lbs. of carbon. cutaway of filter: www.sylvane.com/aeris-aair-3-in-1-hepa-h13-filter.html The Medical filter does not possess any carbon and has an H14 HEPA in it (vs. the H13 in the 3 in 1) so it will filter the particles even a little bit better. But it will possess a little less air flow. Both filters can be interchanged within the same air purifier "chassis". You could really go with either - I think I'd go with the regular 3 in 1 as it provides more air flow and therefore, more air exchanges.

Hi, Doug. Thank you for this review and your many others. In my opinion, I find your reviews and experience head and shoulders above the others. My question is-should I buy the older Aeris 3 and 1 reconditioned on eBay with H13 filtration or wait for the newer iRobot version this year? I am a potter/ceramicist working in a 550 square foot detached garage with a pellet stove heater(vented) in Minnesota winters. I am looking to filter ceramic dust at 0.1 microns to mitigate possible silicosis down the road. The Aeris 3 and 1 seems to do very well at filtering down to 0 .1 microns, but I worry since the company has turned over to iRobot, the H13 filter brick may be discontinued. Should I wait for the overseas new er H14 model or would you recommend another machine all together for my situation?

Hey Roger - thank you for your question and kind words. iRobot appears to be in financial trouble and their CEO stepped down last week and they have halted all things Aeris, for the short term. Amazon decided to stop pursuing the purchase of iRobot and there was a lot of fallout last week. I will try to make a video on it this week. Unfortunately, currently no one knows when any Klaara P7 product will be available - not even their staff. So, at this point, I would go with an IQAir HealthPro Plus. It is a great unit and I currently run one in my family room. Hope that help - Good Luck! 👍

I recently got a aeris 3 in 1 and I love it so far! I heard good things about the Jaspr pro. The founder calls it an air scrubber rather than a purifier. But the cost of filter replacements for that unit is way too much imo.
@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation 6 ай бұрын
That 3 in 1 is pretty darn good, IMO... lol! I had never heard of the Jaspr Pro before but I did just check out their website. That is a pretty expensive unit and the replacement filters are not cheap. You can get a replacement filter for $199 if you join their filter club subscription or else you pay $299 for the replacement filter for a 1 time purchase? And the filters get replaced every 4 to 6 months... Wow, IDK about that. So, that would be $600 per year if you replace them every 4 months... That is one of the most expensive filter replacements I've ever heard of. They have a logo that says, "3rd party tested and verified" but I don't see any specific information regarding this. Many companies will oftentimes explain their 3rd party certification at least a little. If they were EN1822 certified I'm pretty sure they would have it somewhere on the site. I'm also not crazy about some of the information they provide on their website... So, if I had to guess - my kneejerk reaction is that your 3 in 1 is going to filter better. The 3 in 1 is Elite - created by elite engineers.👍

I just bought the Alen BreatheSmart Classic True HEPA Air Purifier. Does anyone know if it filters ultra fine particles as well as the ones he showcased in the video?
@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation 5 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question. I am not familiar with the Alen BreatheSmart Classic True HEPA Air Purifier but I do think Alen makes decent units in general. That said, the filter in the Alen BreatheSmart Classic True HEPA Air Purifiers seems to sit in the unit perpendicular to the floor and typically this is not the best arrangement, IMO because you need a very strong seal between the back of the filter and the inside of the air purifier. Therefore, something needs to be pushing the filter uniformly against the back. I don't know if this is the case with this unit. Elite air purifiers that filter ultrafine particles very well like the IQAir HealthPro Plus and Aeris 3 in 1 use gravity to hold the filters in place against the internal housing of the units and this makes for a better overall seal, IMO. I do like that Alen put a gasket behind the filter as opposed to on the sides of the filter as that is typically a superior placement, IMO. I just don't know how well it is pushed up against the inside of the unit - and is it done uniformly around the filter? Also, elite air purifiers that filter Ultafine particles like the HPP and the Aeris tend to be EN1822 certified and I did a quick Google search but didn't see that the Alen unit was EN1822 certified. That said, some companies are EN1822 certified but I don't think they actually filter as well in the real world as their certification says they do. I explain some of this in this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i9hmfZmb1q-pnY0.html So I don't have experience with the BreatheSmart Classic but my initial knee jerk reaction would be it won't filter UF particles as well as the HPP or the Aeris units. Thank you!👍

We have the Aeris 3 in 1 in our living room and was thinking of getting 2 Winix 5500-2 for each of the kids rooms then rotating the Aeris between living room (during day) and our bedroom (at night) . We recently bought a water system for clean drinking water and the Aeris 3 in 1 and now with maintenance and filter costs per year we do not have a huge budget left for our 1200 sf apartment. Right now the Winix 5500-2 is on sale in Canada for $260 and the yearly cost of filters look like around $60 per year each which is around the budget we have for this. Either way, I have them all running right at about 2 months now in my home and I currently think the Coway Mighty may filter the particles a little better than the Winix 5500 but the Winix is going to be better for VOCs/odors. @@davidaddis7786 1) There are some refurb Aeris 3 in 1 units on the market but - I want to wait on the Aeris air purifier product line at this point in time as iRobot just got a new CEO a month ago. They lost money the past 2 years in a row and their CEO was let go around Jan. 2024. The Aeris product line only accounted for about 1% of all their sales in 2023 so the new CEO will definitely not be focusing on it in the short term, IMO. Therefore, I think it is kinda risky to go with an Aeris solution these days. 2) I would go with an IQAir HealthPro Plus: amzn.to/3NIJ6Uq or 3) An Airpura R614 (which has a Super HEPA filter/Better than HEPA at 99.99% at .3 microns) : www.airpura.com/products/r614-the-everyday-air-purifier?_pos=2&_sid=bf66ccfb8&_ss=r You can get 10% off on the Airpura with coupon code: DZAir10 I would love to hear feedback on what you choose and how well it works for you. Hi, learning a lot from this video. Would love to know your opinion on the Dyson big and quiet. Also, are there any house-wide solutions (like an a/c unit type) for air filtration? Can you cover that if so? Honestly I’d be more interested investing on air purification than on solar panels. Thanks for sharing your knowledge

Thank you for your comment. I have checked the Dyson Big and Quiet out a little online but have not gotten "my hands on it", yet. Maybe in the future, I'll add it to the list. I currently think stand alone units like the IQAir HealthPro Plus and the Aeris 3 in 1 are better for ultrafine particles than whole house air purifiers. But, the best whole house air purification/HVAC solutions that I have experience with are probably the Amaircare solutions. They have different sizes for different environments - you can find out which is best for your home if you contact them directly: amaircare.com/customized-solutions/ Good Luck and Thank you! 👍

@@AirPurificationEducation thank you! I also noted on IQAir’s website that they also have a whole house system. I will look further into Amaircare. Also notes that the Dyson big+quiet claims to filter 0.3 micron vs iqair 0.03 micron. I was hoping to have less of an expense changing the filters but that drastic filtration capacity is what is the actual value in the iqair. Again, I’m Learning. Yes, IQAir has a whole house system but it was a pain to get the unit installed in some customer's homes, in my experience. They have contractors who are supposed to be able to do the installs but it appears there was a lot of miscommunications between them and the manufacturer in the past. Sometimes it would take several weeks between the customer paying the deposit and the unit actually getting installed in their home. There seemed to be a lot of confusion in the installation process. Maybe they've made it easier/better in the past 3 years but IDK. I would actually get worried when someone ordered their whole house unit, LOL! Yeah, I would be shocked if the Dyson unit is able to filter particles nearly as well as the IQAir HPP. I highly doubt it. Thank you! 👍

I am new to all this air filtration stuff but that 0.03 has got to be the platinum standard.

IQ-Air also has a GC Series which they claim is better than the HealthPro Plus at dealing with chemicals & odor, and much better at handling smoke - while dealing somewhat less effectively with Asthma Triggers and Allergens than the HealthPro Plus. It's listed filters are categorized differently than the HealthPro Plus, using, for example, what it refers to as "gas cartridges". Thoughts?
@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation 5 ай бұрын
Yes, IQAir has a GC unit that is FANTASTIC for Odors and VOCs, for sure. The composition of the carbon in the 2 units is supposed to be exactly the same (according to the manufacturer) however the GC has 12 lbs. of carbon while the HealthPro Plus has 5 lbs. The GC filters 95% of particulates down to .003 microns while the HPP does 99.5% down to .003 microns. So, yeah, the HPP is better for particles and the GC is better for VOCs/odors. In selling the units I'd sell the HPP more than 200 to 1 in comparison. Folks who purchased the GC were typically in a super heavy VOC environment which is not nearly as typical as the needs of most others inquiring about an air purification solution. Thanks!👍

Parrots/birds are supposed to shed like crazy according to the folks I've spoken to in the past... 1. IQAir HealthPro Plus would be the best at this point, IMO. Because it is available and does a good job on the UF particles. But it's $899. 2. Aeris 3 in 1/Klaara could possibly be even better when it's available - hopefully soon. May be about $750... 3. I think the Coway 300 could be a decent solution if you are not looking to pay over $500... - seems it is $437 on Amazon amzn.to/3OihO8H Pulls air in from 2 sides and has more CFMs than the 250. 4. The 250 seems like it would be a decent unit, as well... a more powerful version of the Mighty is what it kinda seems like. So, yeah, for $304 it is not a bad option. amzn.to/3UcMiwn it's just that if people want elite filtration these days for ultrafine particles they are going to have to spend more money... but Coway does make decent units at decent price points. Good Luck! 😀

I don't have first hand experience with it but from what I've seen online - it looks like a decent unit. @AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation 5 ай бұрын
Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I don't currently know of a "best" air quality monitor. I don't think any accurately test for ultrafine particles and these are the most common in our air and the most dangerous to us. UF particles being .1 to .003 microns. + Each monitor that tests for TVOCs apparently has their own formula on how they do their readings and what chemicals they will possibly be able to detect. But there are over 15,000 chemicals that can be in the air and I'm pretty sure none of them actually test for all of them... and it is supposed to be even harder for a monitor to accurately test for VOCs than even particles. Eventually, I think better technology and solutions will enter the market... but for right now... I don't want people getting a sensor and have it read "Good" when it is only reading 4% of the larger particles in the air - that are the least dangerous to us. And it may be missing dangerous chemicals in the air, as well... But have the consumer think, "Ah, my air quality is GREAT!" Which I think is occurring on the regular these days. Thanks!👍

Thank you for the link. I do not currently think any of the Dyson air purification solutions that I have seen filter particles at an elite level. That said, I do think the most recent Big and Quiet is probably a big jump in performance vs. those air purifier fans they came out with years ago... and I respect the fact that they put a lot of time, money and creativity into the product. I tend to respect people and companies who take the big bat out and "swing for the fence" - even if they don't end up being super successful with their efforts. At least they tried. The headphone air purifier combination is a very ambitious undertaking and again, I respect them for spending all the time, effort, money and the "team of engineers" thinking outside the box to bring it to market. It took a lot of "selling of ideas" within the Dyson organization for them to divert a substantial amount of money for this project, for sure. And it is an extremely difficult solution to create, IMO. Much, much more difficult to create than a larger stand-alone air purifier. It is always easy for some folks to sit back and make fun of their efforts and point the finger - and I get it, it is kinda funny - but we can all agree that if this product got good reviews from multiple popular sources (ie. Wire Cutter and Consumer Reports and/or they got Dr. Oz to wear it on TikTok, etc.) and we had another "covid" event - that it could be a grand slam home run in sales for them (think, people sitting in a subway in NY). I think this product is probably not too great on the filtration side for many reasons but I do respect them for trying. Most doctors that I have seen or heard about, don't really know the dynamics of air purification super well, IMO - and I don't think the one in this video (Dr. Mike) does, either. I know he's famous but... And IMO - doctors SHOULDN'T have a very strong understanding of air purifiers and air purification because they are too busy being doctors - which takes a lot of time and constant education. How can they possibly find the time to have extensive experience with multiple air purifiers and the air purification industry as a whole? I was actually thinking of making a video of multiple doctors talking about air purifiers showing that they are oftentimes not a credible source for air purification advice. I may do it in the future. We'll see.😆 People tend to trust doctors no matter what - but... they don't know everything, LOL! Thanks for the video. @@reallyreallyo

Thank you for your question. Odors get taken out of the air with carbon solutions. And you typically need a decent amount of carbon in the solution. Manufacturers will say to run the units on medium speed at the most so the carbon gets a better chance to absorb the odors. 1) I would say the least expensive solution which may possibly help with the odor is the Coway 300: amzn.to/3OKKAz3 - it doesn't have a ton of carbon but more than the typical inexpensive units. 2) Depending on the size of the space you are putting the unit in - you may be able to use an Airpura R400: amzn.to/4bH73Xq - it has at least 4 times more carbon than the Coway 300 and is much better for odors. 3) If those 2 units are not enough to solve the odor issue - then the Air Pura R600 should be able to do it as it has 18 lbs. of carbon which is more than twice as much as the R400 - amzn.to/3UN8mOu Thanks and Good Luck! 👍

@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation 3 ай бұрын
Hmmm... that is a tricky one for me as I do not really know. I will say this. If you are chemically sensitive - it will tend to get worse as you get older - in my experience. The way to "get rid of it" and become "better" is to detox your body via diet, typically. I dealt with a super chemically sensitive guy in TX years ago, from mold exposure, and he was "housebound" - couldn't leave his home, and eventually said he found a detox expert who changed his diet. He said he lost a ton of weight - and he got down to like 140 lbs. or so... but his energy levels skyrocketed and he felt much better... and then eventually, he could even go outside and mow the lawn with a mask on... So, I think MCS people have toxins inside their bodies that need to be released through detox - and when they are released - the issues go away... so I think you need a good detox naturopath/holistic expert to help you. That's just my 2 cents. 👍

What are your thoughts between MEV vs HEPA filters?
@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation 29 күн бұрын
If sized correctly - HEPA air purifiers from IQAir, Aeris/iRobot, Airpura and Camfil - can provide elite filtration for particles. Currently I think MERV 13 solutions - like CR Boxes (if that's what you are asking about) - are good for applications like woodworking environments, etc. to take the larger particles out quickly. And they are def. better than nothing in smaller spaces, as well. I know some folks on the Internet are trying to say they are better than HEPA filter solutions... but I've checked with a reputable 3rd party testing facility in Europe about this and they said MERV16 solutions can sometimes be better than good HEPA solutions... But there is a big difference between the filtering of a MERV 13 filter and an MERV 16 filter. So, I don't currently think a MERV 13 solution will be nearly as effective as a good HEPA air purifier. But, I am open minded on this... when/if NASA, the DOE, major airlines, Hospitals and Emergency Rooms switch to MERV 13 solutions because they feel they are more effective than HEPA solutions... then I will definitely be more prone to believing otherwise... Also, The CDC recently said, “DIY air filtration units may be effective for temporary use until commercial portable air cleaners with known performance characteristics can be acquired, or used in areas that cannot obtain commercial portable air cleaners. However, the EPA does not recommend the DIY units as a permanent alternative to products of known performance (such as commercially available portable air cleaners).”

@AirPurificationEducation 4 ай бұрын
Thank you for the kind words. The Airpura V600 is also not in this "Best Air Purifier" video - but it is very good for wildfire smoke. Unfortunately, it is not cheap. The problem is, you need a good HEPA filter for particle filtration and a decent amount of carbon to help with the VOCs/chemicals from Wildfire smoke... and carbon is not inexpensive. Therefore a "Good" wildfire smoke solution is going to be fairly expensive. That said, it also depends on how large the room is that you want to purify. And how much smoke is getting in your space - and how sensitive you are to it. Sooooooo - If I had to go with a cheaper solution like a bedroom - specifically for Wildfire smoke - then I would actually - probably go with the Winix 5500-2 as it has more carbon than the Coway Mighty and it has more carbon than most air purifier solutions less than $300. It is really going to be "hit or miss". I had a lady last week saying the Winix 5500 didn't totally help her with smoke from a neighbor... but maybe 2 of them would be able to help her better. So, yeah, I wouldn't recommend it off the bat and it is not a "Great Solution" for wildfire smoke - and it won't address Ultrafine particles but... if I had to pick something less than $300 - then I would probably go with the Winix 5500-2 - it would currently be my preferred "inexpensive" option for a smaller room for Wildfire Smoke. Unfortunately, oftentimes - the real "good" solutions are more costly. All that being said - I'm currently working on a Levoit Core 300 review and I think the next air purifier review I do will, in fact, be the Winix 5500-2. I had said in a previous video it doesn't actually work at a HEPA level - but neither do over 99% of the other HEPA air purifiers on the market... so I do like it for particle filtration for the price for smaller spaces. Thanks!👍

Have you heard from any of your customers or other about the brand Blueair? I know there are so many brands for air purifiers that you can't review them all. They are the next brand I've heard good things about. It sucks how there is no real standard testing or that the claims these brands make can be fake. $700 is lot for me, but anything in the 400-500 range I would be willing to shell out. I have a Blueair 211i Max as I am running about 8 air purifiers currently in my home... I need to get some dust in the units to really analyze them b4 I do a review on them. The Blueair has been running for about 10 weeks now and it has a POOR seal between the filter and the unit itself, IMO... and I can see dust accumulation at multiple points. They market it as being better than HEPA but it is clearly not filtering even at a HEPA level and I think I see it leaking dirty air more than any of the 8 other air purifiers I've been running. They say they use "HEPASilent dual filtration technology " but that is just marketing mumbo jumbo, IMO. It looks really nice and it is pretty quiet and it does seem to move a lot of air around but it is NOT working at a HEPA level, for sure. Blueair tends to make very nice looking units that are relatively quiet but I do not think they are elite at filtration. I also just got a comment on my site today from someone who said, "When I was exposed to mold it hit me hard. My friend let me borrow his blueair in my roof with door closed, nothing. Then he let me borrow the IQ air and in ten minutes all symptoms stopped." If you are willing to spend $500 then you may want to take a look at the Airpura V400: amzn.to/3v4fifA It comes with 8 lbs. of carbon which is a lot for $550 and I know Airpura makes good units - this one is just smaller than the larger ones they typically make/sell. Not everyone wants a big 45 lb. metal container in their room so Airpura started to make some smaller units in the past year - and this was a GREAT move, IMO. I would say the V400 is probably the best solution that I am aware of for your environment/situation less than $850. Good Luck!👍 @@nonamegiles4134

I've been into air purifiers for about 5 years and I've watched lots of reviews. I wish your reviews existed 5-6 years ago when I bought my 2, Coway 1512's and a slightly less feckless Honeywell HPA 300. Don't get me wrong, they work fine for removing smoke in the kitchen when I'm cooking bacon, but I've never found them useful for the vast majority of other tasks. Obviously, I've never expected them to remove odors (because I knew they wouldn't when I bought them), and I don't care about pollen because I don't have allergies - but they don't even remove dust and dander effectively in my opinion. That's why I bought them and I feel like I was misled.

Thanks for the Comment. The Coway 1512 Mighty and the HPA300 are both good air purifiers for less than $300 for particles for a smallish space, IMO. They are not elite for Ultrafine particles but I do think they are decent for larger particles as long as you can get a few air exchanges in the space you use them. I think they perform better than most of the air purifiers in that price range for particles. Also, none of the air purifiers - not even the $899 IQAir HealthPro Plus will get rid of dust totally. Dust will always accumulate on surfaces in rooms even with elite air purifiers running 247. I currently have 7 air purifiers running in my house - in every single room and even hallways and we still get dust everywhere... 3 of them would be considered elite for particles. Thank you!👍

I would never recommend someone purchase an air purifier to decrease the overall amount of dust accumulation in their home. So good air purifiers that are sized correctly dramatically decrease the particulates in the air we breathe. And they dramatically decrease the amount of particles that get into our bodies and even our bloodstream. They are not specifically great at preventing dust from accumulating on the ground or counters. The larger particles are heavier and they will fall to the ground and accumulate on surfaces much quicker than the smaller particles. If you see dust accumulation on your desk - those particles are 10 microns in size and larger... as a person cannot see any particle smaller than 10 microns with the naked human eye. The important issue to be aware of is that the Ultrafine particles are (.1 to .003 microns in size) and we therefore cannot see them with our eyes. These UF particles stay airborne for much longer periods of time than the larger particles we see on our desk and counter tops. They can stay airborne for hours at a time... and studies are linking the UF particles to Alzheimer's, Cancer, Heart Attacks, Erectile Dysfunction and many, many other health problems... because the UF particles are so small they can get into our bloodstream and access ALL the organs in our bodies - including our brains. 90% of the particles in the air we breathe are UF - so they make up the vast majority. So, if you have construction going on in your area I would probably bet you have a lot of particles in the air you breathe. I don't worry about the larger dust particles accumulating on my desk - I wanna keep the UF particles out of the air I breathe... that is why I run the best units in my bedroom and family room - where I spend most of my time. I had a guy overseas living near manufacturing plants and he would get black soot on his counters every day... he did purchase an IQAir HPP and told me he could tell that there was less soot on his counters with the unit running. But it won't prevent all dust/soot accumulation. @qh

@AirPurificationEducation 3 ай бұрын
Thank you for the comment. I think Alen probably makes some pretty decent air purifiers, in general. Unfortunately, it is pretty difficult to compare the effectiveness of carbon solutions head to head as some do better for certain chemicals than others (and there are over 15,000 different chemicals that could be present). Plus, 3rd party carbon/VOC/Chemical tests at legit testing facilities is pretty expensive. And it is supposed to be even more difficult for hand held/less expensive air quality testers/sensors to accurately read for VOCs and chemicals than it is for them to read particle concentrations in the air. So, it is a little tricky at the moment, I think. That said, I'd like to check out an Alen unit in the future - thanks!👍

Hello 😃 I am not really familiar with these 2 units but after doing a little research... 1) I think the major difference is the 205 is WIFI enabled and comes with an app. + it is made of steel. The 3410 is not WIFI enabled - no app. and no steel. But it does seem to have more CFMs so it will accommodate a larger space or enable you to get more air exchanges in your space. 2) I don't really care for the apps and WIFI capabilities on air purifiers and I think these 2 units will probably filter similarly so I'd just probably go with the less expensive 3410. Yes, I contacted them the past week and received a similar answer. Their company seems to be in trouble as the $1.4 billion dollar deal to be acquired by Amazon fell through last week. This is something that has been in the works for 2 years or so. Their CEO stepped down on the same day and their stock is something like 75% down, as well. They also laid off 31% of their staff. So, they had a miserable week last week and they are actively searching for a CEO. They halted all Aeris activity. It really STINKS! We will have to see what plans they have for the Aeris product line when the new CEO gets acclimated to the role. If they had never been acquired by iRobot - I think their product would be readily available most everywhere... but crazy things can happen when another company acquires you. I don't think the new CEO will just "shelf" the Aeris product line forever as they paid $72 million for the company so they gotta want it to work somehow (and get some of the money back). Plus, they spent time and money the past several months modifying the app. for the unit and their vacuums so they all work together... So, I am very interested to see what the new CEO plans and I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I think I'll eventually make a short video on this... Thanks!👍 @@catherinecheung207

Hey Brian, thanks for the question. You may already know this but... The Aeris Medical Pro, unit itself, is really the same as the Aeris 3 in 1 unit - but it just has the Medical Pro filter in it instead of the 3 in 1 filter. We can interchange the 3 in 1 filter, Medical Pro filter and TVOC filters all in the same unit/housing. Here are some pictures of the 3 different filters that will fit and work inside the same Aeris Unit/Housing: www.sylvane.com/search/results/?keywords=aeris So, like you mentioned, the Medical Pro does not have any carbon in it for VOCs/Chemicals/Odors but it is superior for particle filtration (99.995% efficiency at removing particles 0.1 microns and beyond). So, if you want superior particle filtration - even better than the 3 in 1 - which is already elite... - then yes, it is a very good unit and one of the best for this. It just won't help with VOCs/odors - but you can always replace the filter to the 3 in 1 in the future if you want carbon in your solution. Thanks and Good Luck!👍

Thanks for the reply. I didn't realize (or even think to ask) that the different filters were interchangeable within the same housing. In the specs I noticed that the Medical Pro was rated for 540 sq ft (vs. 750 for 3-in-1) and 295 CFM (vs. 390), and so thought there might be other differences between the units, such as the size of the fan. Perhaps these specs differ because airflow of the HEPA 14 is more restrictive? Anyhow - thanks again! @@AirPurificationEducation

@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation 2 ай бұрын
Hey Iva, yes, air purifiers improve the air quality in our rooms by providing multiple air exchanges over and over in the space - of mostly, the same air. When a window is open then a lot more new air gets introduced to this process which will dilute the air purifier's efforts - assuming the air entering through the window is more polluted. That said, if you have super clean air coming in through the window - then that is great and I guess you wouldn't need an air purifier at that point. But not many people are in such a good situation. Also, folks who want their windows open but still wish to breathe filtered air for particles could get an IQAir Atem Desk unit as it sits next to you and blows purified air towards your nose and mouth. I own one of these and used it in the last office I was in which was 6,000 sq. ft. or larger so getting air exchanges was not an option. So, one could open their window and let air in from outside and still push purified air towards their nose and mouth at the same time with an Atem. That said allergens will be all over the room at that point in time and rest on clothing and beds/furniture, etc. and cause a problem for folks who are very allergic. My wife has some allergies and we keep the windows closed most all the time this time of year (allergy season). She only goes outside with a mask on As I type this, I currently have both my windows open to bring in some cooler air from outside and the air seems to be fairly clean... I am still running my IQAir HealthPro Plus behind me to get 'air movement" and still provide some clean air, as well. That said, my windows are shut 97% of the time when my air purifiers are running and I don't have any allergy issues. Hope that makes sense - thanks! 👍

Unfortunately the IQ Air is out of budget, so I've been looking at some cheaper options. Specifically the Airpura R400, the Coway 400/300, and the AllerAir AirMedic Pro 5 that's on a good sale. After watching your review of the Coway, I've been leaning away from it due to the poor seal (a video on improving that would be interesting). Do you have any experience with the R400 and the AirMedic Pro 5 or those companies? Are there other brands/models you'd suggest I look at? A concern I have is noise, I know most purifiers are quite loud on their highest setting, so I'd probably want to run it on a medium setting which usually reduces the CFM by a lot. I've also heard that multiple smaller purifiers work much better in a bigger area than a single large one. Despite the extra electricity and noise, what do you think of that? It would be cheaper up front to get 2 Coway Mighty, though the seal probably isn't great either. Thanks!

I was happy to see them come out with this unit recently as I think the market can definitely use a smaller version of some of their larger units. 2) That said, many Coway owners are very happy with their units so it will improve the quality of the air in your space... it just won't be elite like the HPP or Aeris units (but neither will 99% of the solutions out there). And Coway is good when it comes to noise. Thanks for the video suggestion but, I don't think I'm gonna make a video on improving their filter's seal as I think the HEPA filter can be damaged pretty easily and I think people could void their warranties by "modifying the seal". Also, if the overall seal is improved then that will put more strain on the HEPA filter itself, and that can lead to some additional issues, as well, I think. I do think some people want to see "that video" though. 3) I would avoid AllerAir like the plague as I've heard some really bad stories about how they treat their customers. So I would currently not buy anything from them. 4) Multiple smaller air purifiers in a space: Yes, now THIS is a very Interesting topic, for sure. And something I even think about on a regular basis in my environment. In the past, I've recommended people put 2 units in a space as opposed to 1 larger one that cost more... but that was for pretty large spaces. I don't really consider 600 sq. ft. to be super large but it is getting there, I suppose. I currently have a Coway Mighty and a Winix 5500 and I think the Coway may be sealed a bit better.... So, you may wish to go with 2 Mighty units and see what they do for you. You can strategically place them in your space. The Coway units will shoot the air towards the ceiling. Of note: I think the Airpura may be small enough to put close in proximity to you. And it shoots the clean air out all around the top area… which is great if you have it close to you, I think. 5) Also, there is the IQAir Atem Desk which is about $400 - which sits on the desk next to you and blows air on your face. This unit will actually filter 99% down to .003 microns which is crazy and addresses the ultrafine particle issue which the other 2 options don’t, IMO. But I don’t know if you have a desk in your room and if you’ll be sitting at it for long periods of time… I have one of these and I used it at a desk for about 6 months… So, I’d say A) 2 Mighty units and see what they do for you (you can return if you don’t get relief). B) The Airpura solution C) IQAir Atem Desk if you have that option. Good Luck!👍

Could you do a review on Jaspr? I’m debating between the Aeris 3 in 1, IQ air health pro plus, and Jaspr. I was originally leaning towards the Aeris 3 in 1 but have a lot of friends here in Toronto that recommend the Jaspr. Lots of dental offices use this one too.

Thank you for your recommendation. I am not familiar with the Jaspr but after a little checking into it - my knee jerk reaction is: That is a pretty expensive unit and the replacement filters are not cheap. So, if I had to guess - my current kneejerk reaction is the IQAir HPP and Aeris filter better and are definitely less expensive to own. Thanks! @@estherteng1383

I am not familiar with these 2 but I do see they put the carbon last which is not good as you will get some carbon in the air you breathe. IMO - the best air purifiers like the IQAir HPP, the Aeris 3 in 1 and even the newer Camfil City M - are all EN1822 certified. Which doesn't totally mean they perform 100% in the real world but it does signify some type of quality, IMO. And yes, they are much more expensive. The Levoit 300 units are not 3rd party tested that I can see... and I currently think they are just OK... but they may be able to help someone with some issues in their environment depending on what is going on... I do have a Core300-P which I started to run about a month ago and I checked it after a month and opened it and it has a somewhat cheap filter and build vs. the serious competitors. But it does appear to be better made than the Aroev that I have been running simultaneously - I will say that. So, Levoit may possibly be able to help you in your space but, IDK. If I was going to look at something in a similar price range I may try the Coway Mighty or the Winix 5500. The 5500 has more carbon. Good Luck! @@AgathaVelvet

Since the Aeris 3 in 1 is not available currently and may not be for a while, I'm wondering if you think it would be worth it to get the Coway Airmega 400, even if we do not have any health problems we are noticing? I'm looking more into preventing future health effects vs any allergies, etc. currently and our living room is pretty big, probably like 800 square ft. Also looking into a unit for the bedroom. I was hoping to spend less than $500 for the living room and even less for the bedroom unit. The IQAir HealthPro Plus sounds great but is more than I'd like to spend and it's design really is drawing me away from it. I'm sure I could not just stuff it in a corner and put something in front to hide it as this would defeat the purpose of good air circulation? For reference I live in greater LA area next to a busy street but we have no smokers, no pets, no other bigger air pollutions specifically to our house.
@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation 4 ай бұрын
Thank you for your inquiry. One of the biggest issues to me is the ultrafine particles that are the most abundant in the air and the most dangerous to humans. The IQAir HealthPro Plus does a good job on UF particles and that is one of the reasons for it's higher pricing as it possesses elite particle filtration. I run one in my family room - right smack in the center as I don't really care about the aesthetics of the units. I am more concerned with the long term effects of UF particles. " I'm sure I could not just stuff it in a corner and put something in front to hide it as this would defeat the purpose of good air circulation?" - In 800 sq. ft. with 8 ft. ceilings - it wouldn't be ideal for circulation but if the unit was positioned somewhat near you and you don't block the air going in under it, too much... or the clean air coming out the top sides - it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world so long as you had some decent CFMs running through it. If you put it in the corner on the other side of the room and run it on low CFMs it may not be the best solution in the world. Almost all/any air purifier we put in a space will improve the air quality to varying degrees. Different solutions will provide us with different levels of filtration. I do think the Coway 400 is a good solution for the investment and the amount of air it will move around. If I couldn't get the Aeris, IQAir or Austin Air units - and/or I didn't want to spend more than $450 - then currently, I would probably run a 400 in a larger space. I just looked at the 400 on Amazon and they are running a special sale of about 20% off and have it for $350. Yeah, I'd probably jump on that: amzn.to/3O3DHsF For your bedroom - you may be able to use the Coway Mighty Airmega AP-1512HH(W) as I think it probably filters similarly to the 400 for particles - but on a smaller scale and it will probably not be quite as effective on VOCs/odors. But it is a good unit for less than $250. And it appears they are running a 30% sale on that, as well, and list it at $159.99 - so those are both GREAT prices! amzn.to/3CYTZwD Thanks and Good Luck!👍

Thank you for your question! This is a good one!👍 1) CADR - is the Clean Air Delivery Rate - and in the US they have a CADR Rating for many air purifiers. However, the tests they conduct to figure out the overall CADR ratings are not good for determining which air purifiers are better than others. The tests have major flaws and therefore the results are flawed (when used to compare which units are the best). 2) CFM - Cubic Feet Per Minute - when I say "CFMs" I am referring to the amount of air that the air purifiers will emit on different speeds. The higher the CFMs the more "Air exchanges" you will get in a room. So, some/many sources will say you want to get 4-5 air exchanges in your room. IMO, 5 air exchanges in a room with a high quality air purifier like an IQAir HealthPro Plus or Airpura unit will dramatically improve your air quality. I hope that made sense - please let me know if you have questions - Thanks!👍

I have the Air Visual Pro but I don't really use it currently. IQAir used to have one that cost $2,000 and it only read particles, if I remember correctly. Now they have this one for a lot less money and it seems to do a lot more than the original particle counter they offered. This current one has a sensor made in China if I'm not mistaken.
@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation 6 ай бұрын
Thank you for the offer! Yes, I think you have the original "good" one from IQAir if you paid around $2K. I think it goes to .3 microns, if I remember correctly. I don't see where you live - I'm in GA. On the testing side - I currently worry about doing tests on the machines as I think it's possible to get "incorrect" data. And I really think the 3rd party testing labs are the only ones who can be accurate consistently. I saw an IQAir, an Austin Healthmate and a Blueair tested just for the particle output with the original $2K IQAir sensor, many years ago and it kinda went the way I expected - with the exception of... the Austin didn't appear to work at a HEPA level - even on low speed. I eventually talked with Austin and they told me that the HPP electronics create a distortion with the testing device which makes it zero out and provide better results than are actually occurring (I've had other folks say something similar, as well). And they also said the HPP testing numbers are not as good when you put the device at a certain area near the opening of their units - more towards the side - if I remember correctly. And Austin said they use $4K sensors and they oftentimes get inconsistencies and that most all the sensors tend to be inconsistent. They don't have a tremendous amount of faith in them. And I've seen testing counters zero out even on simple fans without any filters (it seems the airflow itself can sometimes give a "good/perfect" reading). So, I'm very wary of testing the machines and not getting accurate results. When I started this YT channel I expected to test all the units with sensors - that was going to be one of my main type of videos. I thought testing was going to be the "foundation" of my channel, even. But after playing with some of the sensors for a while - and asking/looking around - I became less confident that I'm qualified to accurately test the units and 3rd party labs are probably the safest option. Thank you! 👍@@timconnell5878

I am above and over one from where the fire started. My unit was smoked out and has a light layer of soot. They're forcing us to come back and live in the units. We are all either disabled or elderly and have no where else to go. I have high levels of carbon monoxide it my blood. My neighbors carbon dioxide detector keeps going on when she cooks toast? She has cancer. Doesn't care and just resets it. I just learned yesterday that those testers are UL certified and only go off if things are at a super dangerous level. Nonetheless. Hello and sorry for the issues you are going through. 🙁 1) I am not a huge fan of the Temtop sensors as I don't believe they are super accurate for particles or general air quality, as you may have seen in my video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iNN5gJyXu9e2fo0.html Unfortunately, the vast majority of air quality sensors/monitors on the market are probably not super accurate on many readings and probably none of them do a really good job of sensing for ultrafine particles (.1 to .003 microns) which are the most dangerous to humans and the most plentiful in the air we breathe. So, I don't want people to see "Good" air quality readings on their units and think "everything is great". If air needs to be tested - I do believe it is best to go with a professional as they will probably be more accurate. 2) For an Air Purifier: I would currently go with the IQAir HealthPro Plus as it is elite for particles and even ultrafine particles, as well. Plus, it has a good amount of carbon for VOCs and odors. amzn.to/3NIJ6Uq That unit would currently make me feel safest in your situation. Thank you!👍

Hello, I think I would lean towards the 300S because you will have the ability to get more air exchanges regardless of the room size you put it in + it will pull air in from 2 sides instead of just one which is also an advantage if you put it in a larger space, for sure. That said, if you are only going to use it in a smaller space like a bedroom and it is only 200 sq. ft. or some other similarly smaller sized space - then, it may be fine to just go with the 250 as it is physically smaller and may be easier to implement without being an obstruction... But, from a particle filtration standpoint, I think the 2 units will perform similarly. I generally, prefer to super--size my air purification solutions for the spaces I put them in as it ensures I will get a decent amount of air exchanges - even on medium speed. So me personally, if price is not an issue - I'd take the 300S and the better airflow, the better air exchanges, and also more carbon for VOCs and odors - since it has 2 filters in it. Good Luck!👍

Interesting you would mention this as I recently did a mold test in a hotel in North Carolina where I suspect they have a mold issue. And this led to some additional issues about mold testing that I didn't know about... and I felt like maybe I should make a video on my experience - as I don't want others to make the same mistake as myself - on the testing side. I'm not a mold expert - nor am I knowledgeable on how to do the testing... But I had run across a seemingly knowledgeable mold 'expert's' blog several weeks ago... and I thought maybe I could make the video on my disappointment of the mold testing procedure and results... and I could have people contact this mold woman if they had additional questions... I contacted her and she agreed to let me send people to her... But I do have many years of dehumidification experience - which basically prevents people from getting mold in their homes. I could maybe talk a little about that.. I know how to size dehumidification solutions for basements and crawlspaces... as those are the 2 most common areas for mold growth in the US. Outside of people having leaks in their pipes (in their walls and ceilings, etc.)... When it comes to actually dealing with the mold toxicity - I eventually would like to get a network or holistic doctors who are good at treating this condition... because in my experience, the only type of professional who could really help people suffering from mold toxicity was a holistic doctor... They would basically change their diets and help cleanse them of the mold over time... So, I cannot really help with a lot of this stuff myself, when it comes to mold - but I can "start the conversation" by explaining my disappointment with my first mold test and that there is a professional mold expert who can help them decide the best mold testing procedures for their situation... and if they are sick from mold... In my experience - it was always a holistic doctor who helped the most... I may make a video with this type of content... It is fairly confusing to figure out the best way that one should test for mold, in the US. Thanks! @@akfootballforever

Anything is possible and I'll never say never. If that is true... and I don't know it is - but hypothetically speaking - that would be one more reason why I'd want my HEPA filter to come after the carbon filter to catch any carbon that may get into the air. Thanks!👍

1) I'd say for 600 - 700 sq. ft., in order to get decent air exchanges - I'd go with the Coway 300 which is currently $352 on Amazon amzn.to/3OKKAz3 2) For a little less money - I'd probably go with 2 Winix 5500 units - amzn.to/447zfP0 Two of these units would be $320.... 3) Then, I may take a stab at a Blueair 211i: amzn.to/3OMPTOc for $267.00 It is hard to get a decent air purifier to adequately cover 600 sq. ft. for $250. Thank you for your comment. I am not familiar with this air purifier but I Googled it and saw a video of the filters getting changed on the JF999 and it looks like it is similar to the JF888. Plus, I've seen the replacement filters on their site for the JF888 (and they look similar to the replacement filters for the JF999). Here are my initial kneejerk reactions to what I see: 1) They put the carbon filter last which is a bad idea as we can get carbon pushed into our air. We always want the carbon filter to come b4 the HEPA filter so it can catch any carbon. The best air purifiers put the HEPA filter last: IQAir, Aeris, Austin Air, Airpura, etc. They all put the HEPA filter last to catch any carbon. 2) The gasket surrounding the HEPA filter goes around the outside of the filter but it should actually be behind the filter and pressed against the inside of the air purifier, IMO. Their gasket arrangement is similar to the Coway 300/400 units and I show that these air purifiers clearly leak dirty air at 29:24 in this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gZuklM6Gx7K4aZs.html&ab_channel=AirPurificationEducation 3) Plus, I don't see anything pushing the filters against the inside of the air purifier to create a strong seal (just like the Coway 400). Therefore, I don't believe the Jafända JF888 works at a HEPA level (just like the Coway 400). These are my kneejerk initial opinions on the unit with very limited knowledge of it. Thank you!👍

You forgot to mention Noise Level (dB)
@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation 5 ай бұрын
Thank you for the suggestion😃 Here are the noise levels for each of the units: Aeris 3 in 1: on Low: it is 35 dB, on Speed 3 it is 42 dB and on High it is: 65 decibels IQAir HealthPro Plus: 1 - 41.8 dB, 2 - 42.6 dB, 3 - 44.7 dB , 4 - 49.4 dB , 5 - 53.4 dB , 6 - 59.3 dB Austin Air Healthmate: Low: 44.6 dB, Med: 56.8 dB, High: 65.1dB Coway 400S: on Low: 22 dB, and on High 52 dB The noise levels for each of the units are contained in the specific video reviews for each of the units that I created in the past. It is a little tricky comparing all the units to each other for noise levels as the units will make increased noise levels on higher CFM settings but they don't all have the exact same CFM settings nor room coverage capabilities. So, one air purifier may be the quietest on low speed but it may only cover 70% of the cubic footage that a louder unit on low can cover. Also the loudest unit on high speed may also be able to cover 20% more cubic footage than any of the other units. So, I would have to try to figure out how to present the comparison without doing injustices to some of the units. Maybe I can rank them on sound based on the medium speed settings - as perhaps maybe most people use their units on medium... Hmmm... IDK, I'm gonna have to think about how to do this. I can add that to the next updated version of the "Best Air Purifier" Video as I add new units to the group - Thanks for the suggestion! 👍

Thanks for the comment. I am not familiar with Bionaire's air purifiers but I just looked at them on their website quickly and they look like inexpensive, run of the mill units - which probably filter similarly to other also ran type brands. Certainly not elite performance. Thanks!

Bouncing off of your response. What do you think differentiates between run of the mill air purifier and not. @@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation 5 ай бұрын
Very good question.😃@@CaitlynKeenan-nk4cr I'll say - one of the major things that separates the elite from the "also rans" is the seal between the housing of the HEPA filter and the internal housing of the air purifier. You need a GREAT seal to prevent dirty air from getting around the HEPA filter. The IQAir HPP and the Aeris 3 in 1 have very strong seals between the housing of the HEPA filter and the internal housing of the air purifier. The HEPA filter oftentimes needs to be pressed against the inside of the air purifier to ensure a better seal. IQAir and Aeris leverage gravity to help create strong seals inside these 2 units. I will eventually make a video on this comparing the seals between multiple air purifiers and people will immediately understand the difference between the seals on elite units and the vast majority of the others on the market. There are also other issues, as well: 1) The quality of the HEPA filters 2) Some/many air purification companies put the carbon after the HEPA filter which is a no-no... they should always put the carbon before the HEPA filter or you will get carbon particles in your air... 3) The quality of the prefilters - many companies use very porous screen-type prefilters to increase the airflow of the units but this will just clog the HEPA filter faster and enable more dirty air to escape. 4) The quality of the seal/glue between the HEPA material and the housing of the HEPA filter. and other issues, as well. It is much more difficult for an air purifier to work at a True HEPA level than the vast majority of consumers think. I oftentimes say, "over 99% of the HEPA air purifiers on the market don't actually work at a HEPA level." I made a video which discusses some of this: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i9hmfZmb1q-pnY0.html Hope that helps - thanks! 👍

I don't currently have any experience with Intellipure other than: 1) someone posted on my channel about a month ago that they purchased their $899 unit and it broke within 2 years. 2) And he was disappointed and was trying to get the manufacturer to help him. It didn't sound like they were helping too much. 3) Annual filter replacements appear to be $285 which is fairly expensive. 4) I know they talk about the DFS Technology but I haven't really seen extensive information that explains it well - other than it is "an energy field". 5) I saw their EN1822 testing results which look pretty impressive... but the test was done by LMS and I'm not sure how reputable they are as a testing company as I saw they tested an AirDoctor at 100% down to .003 microns and I don't know of any air purifier that hits those numbers. So, I am somewhat skeptical of those testing numbers. 6) If I'm looking at their filter arrangement/order correctly - it appears they put the carbon filter last in order and that is generally not a good thing as you can get carbon in the air you breathe. Most reputable air purifier manufacturers put the carbon b4 the HEPA filter so it can catch any carbon particles. That is "Air purification 101", IMO. 7) I couldn't find their warranty on their website which in my experience is very rare for an air purification manufacturer. IQAir talks about their 10 year warranty and you can easily find it on their website. Austin Air has a 5 year warranty which is pretty easy to bring up on their site, as well, but Intellipure's warranty is not readily found for whatever reason... That is somewhat of a red flag for me. So, I'm not currently really sure about them... They may be great but I don't really know at this point. Thanks! 👍

I was disappointed by showing the graph at 22:30. Is the difference between 99.9998 and 99.9990 really clinically significant. This alone appears to be a marketing gimmick
@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation 5 ай бұрын
Hello and thank you for your question. I am not completely sure what you are inquiring about but I'll try to answer what I think you may be asking. Of note: I don't see a 99.9998 and 99.9990 reading on the chart - I think you may mean 99.998 and 99.990. 1) HEPA is particle filtration of 99.97% at .3 microns and it is considered a pretty stringent and relevant air filtration standard in the US and in many other countries, as well. In fact, it was supposed to be the standardization created for the protection of the workers in the "Manhattan Project"(aka. Atomic Bomb). That said, it is much harder for an air purifier to actually hit 99.97% filtration at .3 microns than the vast majority of people actually realize. That is why I will oftentimes say in my videos that 99% of the "HEPA Air Purifiers" on the market do NOT actually hit 99.97% at .3 microns and they do NOT actually filter at a HEPA level. But this does not deter the air purification manufacturers from marketing and advertising their air purifiers as being able to do it. Most any air purifier company can claim anything they wish about their units - and typically without anyone pointing out discrepancies in their claims. You may wish to see more on this in the video titled "HEPA Filters - Are they all the same?" kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i9hmfZmb1q-pnY0.html 2) So, actually hitting 99.97% at .3 microns is RARE in the world of consumer Air Purifiers in my current opinion (regardless of the fact that most all manufacturers market their units as being able to do it). Less than 1% of the units actually are able to do it in the real world for consumers, IMO. So, when I showed the graph at 22:30 - the point I was trying to make was the Aeris 3 in 1 is so impressive and it filters particles so well that it actually ALWAYS filters better than the HEPA percentage as it's WORST percentage is 99.988% which is BETTER than even the 99.97% HEPA standard percentage. And it hits that number at around the .15 micron particle size. And we can see in the graph that the filter will filter at .3 microns much better than the 99.97% standard, as well. ALL other particles - smaller and larger than .15 microns are filtered at an even better rate/percentage than 99.988%. So, this is considered ELITE particle filtration and again... better than 99% of the air purifiers on the market. 3) Is there a significant difference between 99.998 and 99.990? That would amount to only a .008% difference. I currently wouldn't think there would be much of a difference between those 2 numbers. But that is not really the point of me showing the graph - the point is to show that the WORST the Aeris filters particles is at 99.988% which is BETTER than the stringent 99.97% HEPA standardization. That is the real message I want people to get out of the graph. Aeris 3 in 1 = Elite particle filtration. In my experience over the years, I've seen many customers switch from general "HEPA" air purifiers to IQAir HealthPro Plus units and experience dramatic improvements in their breathing. This has occurred many times. The IQAir HealthPro Plus was the best mass produced air purifier solution for particulates in the US for over 15 years. Then the Aeris 3 in 1 hit the market a few years ago and I know of a few IQAir HPP customers who switched to the Aeris 3 in 1 and they said they were able to breathe even better with the 3 in 1 unit. I do think the 3 in 1 filters even a little better than the HPP for particles. Therefore, my current overall answer would be "yes" - I do think a filtration improvement in small percentages does matter and make a difference (however .008% is probably too small of a difference to really matter). Some folks with certain breathing issues will notice it sooner but anyone with a better filtering unit will realize a better level of overall health in the long run. I hope that helps - Thanks! 👍

Hello and thank you for your inquiry. Holy Cow! 3 surgeries?!?!? 😢 Unfortunately, I do not have an inexpensive solution for Nail environments. You will require a good amount of carbon to absorb the dangerous chemicals and unfortunately, carbon is NOT cheap. I would recommend that you "air out" your space as much as possible when you use these chemicals - fans in the windows and or fans pushing the chemicals away from you - preferably outside - one way or another. Those chemicals are no joke and dangerous, for sure. You would really require something like one of the Airpura units in the following article - they are experts in carbon: www.airpura.com/blogs/air-quality-news/air-purifiers-for-hair-and-nail-salons 1) The best for you is probably the Airpura F600 DLX followed by the Airpura F600... None of those units are cheap. 2) An inexpensive solution won't = a Good solution for you but.... You could try to get 2-3 Winix 5500-2 units as they have more carbon than most units less than $200. And you could try to put 2 of these units near/around you to try to help some... amzn.to/447zfP0 and that would cost about $320 for 2 of them. They won't purify the entire 1,100 sq. ft. but they could help keep you a little more safe and I'd also have some fans running to try to push the toxins outside. Airflow and moving the chemicals away from you is important. 3) You could contact Airpura, the manufacturer, and explain to them about your situation and ask if they have any "Scratch and Dent"/ "Second Hand" units that they may have so you can get what you really need... Airpura F600 DLX followed by the Airpura F600 preferred... 4) Sylvane.com currently has a great deal on an "Open-Box" Airpura G600DLX for $540 (it normally retails for $999). It has 26lbs. of Carbon!!! It is 5 rows down on their Clearance Center - in this link: www.sylvane.com/clearance-center.html?pg=4 5) Check with Airpura to see if the G600DLX is a decent match for your needs... I think it is the closest thing we are going to find in that price range. Here is Airpura's contact info: www.airpura.com/pages/contact-us - also ask them about their scratch and dent units... 6) You could also check with Austin Air for a "Scratch and Dent"/ "Second Hand / Open box" unit on one of their Austin Air Healthmate Plus units: austinair.com/shop/healthmate-plus/ Gotta be a Plus unit, though - not the regular Healthmate. Austin's contact info: austinair.com/contact/ So, you can try a couple of those options and see what you get - IT NEVER HURTS TO ASK!!! Also, try to "fan your space" some... to get the chemicals away from you. Good Luck!👍

So the best solution that I'm familiar with would be the IQAir HealthPro Plus. I run one in my family room and have received a ton of positive feedback from many customers on this unit for over 13 years : amzn.to/3NIJ6Uq Thank you!👍
