Hey! Not sure if you will see this but I need some help! I've been researching a ton about my species type! I have a Serissa, and we picked it up from a warmer climate and now it is residing in my room in medium temperature about 60 degrees F, but I believe I have overwatered it since I was a noob at watering. I've had to for about a week, and as you mentioned on the video if you over water the leaves will begin to turn orange- and that it did. Are there any other steps I must take rather than being consistent with my watering schedule? Can I use icecubes so the soil gets the water at a slower rate? Would that kill my little guy? THANK YOU!

hey nigel.... can you do a brief tutorial on fertilization practices.... organic of course? I wasnt sure if it was necessary given the controlled soil of the "bonsai soil". do you ever include true organic soil w your mix.... or is it necessary and or needed?

I'll try to get a video out on the subject, we may also discuss it at a meeting. I'll video the meeting if this is the case.

are you partial to any brand specific "detail delicate pruning" clippers? those things look like oversized nail clippers.

I think the small curved scissors are used for cutting away bandages? I get them at the surplus store, but I've seen them at some of the fairs in the area also. I think they are just a generic brand from China.

Jordan 3 I got my tree from a cutting at one of our club meetings. They are a common tree used for bonsai, but may be hard to find. You will have to try a nursery that specializes in bonsai, or check in with your local bonsai clubs in your area. I'm sure we could get you one if you can make it to one of our meetings. Just let me know, email me at ... thekwbonsaisociety@gmail.com

Mayor McCheese It can't be much worse! The tree is really growing well now. The top canopy is really dense and I'm letting it grow a little longer, then I'll be giving it a haircut

i hate it ... here in Arizona moss is hard to come by! those lower level landscapes w that greenery you do are really cool

Thanks Hilary, you might have to grow a tray of moss to get enough for your bonsai. If you place a layer of sand on top of your bonsai soil, a small piece of moss will spread over time and get you a nice big patch. You need to water it lots and keep it out of the sun in mid day.
