I don't think shinobu was actually trying to kill giyu. She probably was just trying to cause him to make an opening by forcing him to dodge an otherwise lethal attack.

I find it interesting how Adam is the more empathetic one, but Sarah tends to judge/like characters by their empathy/morality. They gravitate towards characters opposite them, which is cute 🤭💛

Rui's story is such a tragedy through and through. He was just a kid that wanted a strong body like his peers. Muzan knows exactly who to go after and how to manipulate them so well. 😭 I think Rui is still one of my favorite demons. Can relate to his human self too much with just wanting to be healthy. Tanjiro is so sweet, went through all that and still offered him some comfort in the end. That Hashira reveal though. Some really cool character designs right there!

Just want to remind that Nezuko is the very rare one of all demon. And the corps are dealing with terrible demons for years and many of them have sad stories because of demons, so they can’t believe that there are actually "something" like Nezuko at first sight🥹

Excellent storytelling again. Their ability to make you feel something even for the demons. Wasn't expecting to see Hashiras.

@28:00 Responsibilty is the word you're looking for. He already made this choice when he saved them the first time, sent them for training to his former master. To eliminate Nezuko now, when she still hasn't harmed a human, and is no longer so blatantly feral, would not be living up to the responsibility Giyu took on when he made the choice to spare her before. It would be spitting in the face of that choice, and their lives since then. So if he'd changed his mind then sure he could strike her down, but it invalidates his choices up to that point. If he thought he was wrong, then taking that route would be worthwhile, a correction if you will, but this is the course he chose, and to borrow a line from the 2nd Matrix movie, "You've already made the choice."

We'll get more Shinobu in the next few episodes, but she is not the kind of person who'll just kill for no reason. She knows just how strong her colleagues are, and knows that no hashira would ever be hit, never mind killed, by an attack that is not even a breathing form, even if it's a surprise attack. She probably did that knowing that Giyuu would've dodged. We'll see more of just how powerful hashiras are in the next arcs.

RUI is my favorite demon. The youngest of all the 12 kizuki. I believe he’s 13 when he was turned into a demon.

Just to add about the debate around 13:20, Nezuko was feral cause she was hungry, if Rui got veryyy hungry he probably would go feral and attack his parents, but demons that feed become saciated and can be like him.

Even if you can't forgive the demon's actions, I can still empathize with the human that existed prior to the demon, assuming they were a good person who more or less had a horrible affliction forced upon them.💙 Sarah saying that human Rui was Inosuke with her whole chest at the start had me in stitches. 😆

Now I can highlight this.. it'a bit throwback of final selection scene (episode 5), but the girl with butterfly clip was the only one who's clean while others had dirt either on their faces or clothes (showing the difference of capability at that time)

Like Adam, Sarah's deductions are getting sharper with each passing day, and I'm very happy to see that she is seriously enjoying watching the story of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba 😆 I'm also happy that the videos of Haikyuu and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba are uploaded alternately, so the time between seeing the two of them is shorter 😆

Pretty sure Shinobu wouldnt have "killed or impaired" Giyuu enough to not being able to continue as Hashira. Just like Sarah said, hashira's are rare, it is a loss if one of them dies or isn't able to continue their job. She most probably have left a scar or something but i doubt she would have aimed at his eyes or something that serious. Specially since giyuu wasn't trying to injure her/not using his blade against her..i m sure even she realized that Giyuu had some reasons ,otherwise he would have swung his blade at her rather than trying to stop her without harming her, after all, Shinobu is not that good as a swordswoman(she has the skills but not enough strength, and she has practiced an entirely different kind of fighting style that isn't suited for a clash of blades against opponents). Forcing her into a battle of swords would have been the quickest way to defeat/kill her. But Giyuu did not do that. I believe her blade(on her sandle) was also poisoned(most likely deadly), she was hoping to nick giyuu enough to poison him and would have given him just enough antidote before leaving, to make sure that Giyuu isn't in danger but also isn't able to follow her. And if that's true, that must be one hell of a poison lol, as even Zenitsu was able to keep the poison at bay by using breathing techniques, and hashira's are masters of breathing techniques. If you want to poison them "instantly" you need a verrrry quick acting poison.

Almost all of the demon's backstories end up making me despise Muzan more and sympathizing with the humans who he turned into demons. I don't feel bad for the demons but for the humans they used to be.

Right or wrong I love how much conviction she has and how confident she is😆 I agree that Rui's circumstances are very tragic and heartbreaking, but I don't really feel that bad for him. Though, I'll give him a break since he seems to be mentally frozen at the age he was turned. I love the banter between Shinobu and Giyuu 🤣His insistence that he's not disliked will never not be funny. Sarah's right about Shinobu being a little surprised about Giyuu not typically showing this kind of empathy (or any emotion for that matter). He's pretty aloof and this was out of character for him in her eyes. I promise you guys Shinobu's not heartless!! She just...doesn't let personal feelings get in the way of her work lol She takes being a demon slayer very seriously. She's actually really nice and not crazy I promise 😅This persona you're seeing is...a bit...there's more to it. You'll see soon. Also, she was definitely not trying to knife Giyuu in the face. She was trying to create an opening to get out of that headlock for sure though. She's physically the weakest of the Hashira and was definitely aware a knife from her boot wouldn't do much. Sarah's guess about the little butterfly girl is pretty spot on! You'll learn a little more very soon (or maybe you already have since you guys film this ahead of time). There's a specific term for it in the demon slayer world, but I'll wait for the right episode to go into depth! I think for Inosuke...his annoyingness and brazen confidence is kinda like a little kid who hasn't experienced failure/insecurity yet. There's a sort of...innocence?...to his self-assuredness. That's why you feel so bad for him when he realizes that he's not that great. It's like a little kid experiencing their own sense of self shattering for the first time. Ahhhhhh!! I can't wait for you guys to FINALLY meet the Hashira!! One of them is voiced by the same voice actor as Daichi!! I'll let you guys guess who! I think it's fairly obvious though 🤭 Adam is right. They ARE a group of personalities. Can't wait for you guys to get to know them better. You guys always ask the best questions that are so hard to answer because of spoilers. All I can say is...just keep watching!!! Everything will be answered in due time.

It was a good point you made about Rui was able to stay with his parents whereas Nezuko went berserk right after. I never thought about it before, but thinking about it now makes me believe that it's because Nezuko was almost dead when she transformed. She was in a dire need of energy, so it would make sense for her to act on her primal instincts. I loved the reaction and how you bounce off on each other! 😄

I love that discussion at the end. You guys are really getting excited about this and makes me excited as well!! My take on Tanjiro showing sympathy is, apart from 'that's just who he is' is that he understands it from a different point of view because Nezuko is a Demon and he is not a hypocrite or subscribe to double standards. Also Tomioka probably got progress reports about Tanjiro and Nezuko from Urokodaki by Crow. I think Urokodaki would have kept him updated, that's the only way I can make sense of what happens in this and the next episode.

yes technique is one of the biggest factors in the swordbreak of DS... but also tanjiro is naturally what ]I will -for now- call "hinokami kagura" breather it's was he was taught as a child and his soul/personality connect with this breathing style by using water breathing he can not move as efficiently. Add to that that hinokami kagura users need a more specialized sword because of this breath's qualities... more will be expanded on this on s2 for the real breath's name and swords on s3 so I can not give you more details

Shinobu and gyu are both hashiras, hashiras are masters of a different breathing style (water, insect amongst others you’ll meet later)

I think there is a tier system for the one guys, i don’t really know what it is or anything but something that seems to be undisputed amongst fans is that the stone guy is the strongest one….and i agree with that. But after that it’s hard to judge which one would be 2nd or 3rd n so on. I guess that ranking would be up to the person cuz they’re all very strong and each have different qualities but the strongest title definitely goes to the stone guy! You will understand why he has that title when you get to the end of the story. I can’t wait for these guys to get to the next season tho or the movie or whatever you wanna call it. Thats when the story kicks it up a notch and starts to get serious imo.

The demon slayers corps are the slayers, the kakushis and the blacksmiths. You can also consider the families that help the slayers, but they do ot for gratittude. And yes the hashira have very uniques personalities and are the real deal

I really don't like the insect hashira. Her backstory isn't enough to make up for her actions. In truth if the story wanted me to forgive her, she would have needed a backstory closer to the brutality of the wind hashira's. Of course this is only my opinion, and I'm sure it's an unpopular one. I would go into more detail as to why I don't think her backstory makes up for her actions, but I'd have to delve into spoilery territory.
