Today, we know Formula One cars as having flappy paddles on the back of the wheel for those instantaneous, seemless gear changes that allow them to travel at breakneck speeds. But there had to be a car that was the first to do it, and a team that was the first to do it... And it wasn't Lotus or Williams!
Ferrari were the first to put a system on the car but despite being credited with the invention, it had been done before but built upon. So with that said, let's look at how all that came to be...
