I had a '04 Cayenne which had a built-in hose like this but came with warnings that it should only be used for filling up the spare and not for general tire inflation. Sure enough I tried airing up all four tires after an off road drive and the compressor shut itself down after three tires were done....Now that you've had it for a while, any issues like that?

Hi, I do like your thinking about this, i would make the plug in air adaptor with the relive valve still there, easy done with a extra T, the trouble is the compressor will get hot quick, I think there are some better options out there, I have a makita DMP180 compressor, easy pump up Ransomes/Toro, van small tractor tires. Makita all so sell a 12v charger. The other option is a Durite 0-674-00. which is a good bit of kit. it do like your videos :) Keep it up :)

Cheers 👍 Yes the temperature is the only problem , I wouldn’t recommend running it for to long . But definitely works to get you out of trouble if you don’t have a pump to hand !

Yup, made great use of mine on my old touareg. Always wished I could plumb in a second compressor though!
@DrivewayHustlers Жыл бұрын
I’ve wondered why RR never installed it on the earlier models being off road cars! Having 2 would be ideal 👍
@leorigby3069 Жыл бұрын
@@DrivewayHustlers I may actually have to do it on my RR, its a regular occurrence I put mine in access mode to load wheelchairs in on ramps. Nice big space to the right where ppl put second battery upgrades 🤔

Dont see many with that interior! Ive always wondered if we can just put a bigger compressor in, its just powered from a relay. Then it could be used for tolls and everything?

Hi Bro, love the vid and thank you for helping us the other night when we broke down in our boat car. Keep in touch Nice trick with the air suspension, I will try it on my L322.

nice one but can you tell me if by using it like this its not adjusting anything on your car pressures?
@DrivewayHustlers Жыл бұрын
No not at all . After 30 minutes of experimenting I jumped in it and it was fine👍 The compressor is isolated from the reservoir tank . Because I manually bypassed the compressor relay , the ecu hasn’t opened the valves to the rest of the system . My only concern is the compressor overheating , so I would only use it in 3-4 minute bursts .

If the compressor was goosed could you do this reverse to fill the bags and lift the car?
@DrivewayHustlers7 ай бұрын
Theoretically you could yes 👍

Couldn't you just tap into outlet of the air tank so compressor will switch on like normal

You will be replacing your air compressor soon! It will overheat. Besides It will not inflate your tires at the full pressure. It didn't even inflated the lawn mower small tire.
@KFORDYCE73 Жыл бұрын
Great idea. I think it easier to just carry a little air compressor. We’ll that’s what I do anyway. 👏👍
